  • those violet gobies look like they could just gulp down some of your smaller fish

  • I love dragonfish so much, I've never had one but i have a freshwater setup with a turtle and cichlids, if i added enough salt so the turtle wasn't irratated, do you think a dragonfish would be ok? the turtle has never shown signs of wanting to eat a fish, but the cichlids might be protective...

  • ur fish suck ass accept the dragonfish gobies

  • @pissnuggit guppies and mollies are one of the main fish u could ever have

  • What is that larger fish with the yellowish stomach and blue tail?

  • nice tank. what kind of sand do you use?

  • Woah. This is amazing. Exelent clarity and beautiful fish!! I would like to know.. How on Earth can you keep all those violet gobies without them constantly fighting?! I have only two ina 55 gallon tank and one is harrassed and attacked everytime it gets close to the other. Also, what species of plants are those??

  • How do you keep plants in that tank? All of ours die within weeks...

  • actually a figure eight puffer are more of the docile puffers and mine gets along well with my community. just dont get snails or shrimp

  • You've wated a 72 gal!

  • what do u feed your dragon eel? at my qork they always die..but i know its because we dont know what to feed them!!

  • how much marine salt did u use per gallon?

  • Is that long silvery fish an Eel?

  • no those are Dragon Gobies:) i love them

  • Nice tank! I have 15 mollies of mixed types (sailfin, black, gold, balloon) in a brackish tank with 5 knight gobies, 5 bumblebee gobies and 2 orange chromide in a 93 US gal, can I add 1 or 2 dragon gobies?

Do they eat other fish? Are they peaceful? Will they be alright with my fish?

Or would 6 celebes rainbowfish be a better option?

  • I see two dragon gobies- is that what you're calling violet gobies?

  • Ya he is, there called both dragon and violet,

  • can you please tell me where i can get a flounder online thank you

  • dude stores sell them

  • how expensive is that to maintain???

  • probably 800 to start 15-20 monthly to keep alive unless a filter dies.

  • Is your flounder still alive? Mine only lasted about 8 months

  • i just got a 11 inch dragon goby & he is with my 6 inch red oscar doing fine 4 now

  • Pretty...I could never keep a dragon goby alive.

  • what kind of plants do you plant in a brackish tank

  • I just started a new tank because i wanted a small community tank and well I didn't have a clue about puffers and i got two. Now i'm trying to balance the tank to both. So brackish will kill my mollies and other fish?

  • hi shellmoments,

I hate to be the bringer of bad news but puffers dont tend to make for good tankmates in a community tank, they are just too aggressive. The mollies will be fine in brackish, but will probably get fin nipped quite a bit.

  • Yes! Puffers are very, very, very bad in community tanks.

  • @xaviergal so not true ive had a shool of mollies with 2 gsp for quite some time now i agree they can b if your luck is to land on the killr puffer fish but aye not everyone can be lucky :)

  • @ShellMoments Mollys are brackish fish. What other fish do you have?

  • @ShellMoments excuse me ,,, but there many fish you can keep brackish ,, monos most damsels , eels , scats , columbian cats , mollie, guppy and all the live barrers canes sharks , datnoids , acci , gobies , and more but you should check the temperment of these fish , and dont forget brackish is often misinterperated it goes some time quite high in gravity try two table spoons pergallon ,,, ok ?

  • wat eels are in the vid???

  • they aren't eels, they are violet gobies =)

  • @defer48 dragonfish goby... 10 bux at wal mart, 15 at petsmart

  • Love that tank setup with those Gobies.I have around 6 of them now and in brackish tanks split up in different tanks except 2 that have actually bred together

  • very nice, you should get some monos and scats

  • you got mollys.....I love mollys!!!!!!!!!!im breeding them right know!!

  • sweet!

  • i know!ONE OF MY MOLLYS GAVE BIRTH TO TWO BLACK MOLLYS!did any of your mollys give birth?

  • yea but they died goby ate em

  • o sorry that hapind to you.YOU HAVE SOME NICE GOBBYS!can i keep 1 in my 55 gal fish tanki have mollys,5 platies,3 clown loaches,4 school fish,1 long fined tetra,1 eel,2 gouramys,and that is about all.can i get one?

  • No.

A violet goby needs a much larger aquarium than 55 gal.

They also need brackish water, which would probably kill a lot of those other fish.

  • goby violets r the best fucking fish out there

  • How much work is it keeping the upkeep of that tank and keeping it clean?

  • Id like to study the possibilties of brackwater fish. from the looks of this tank it looks like there are even more opions than I thought.

  • Looking good!!!

  • Are those Dragon fish?

  • no there goby violets

  • they're the same thing..... well actually i think there are sub-species but still basically same thing

  • Subspecies of what? The violet goby is Gobioides broussonnetii. Other than that, I don't think there are any distinct subspecies. The gobies in this video are violet gobies.

  • very interesting!

  • Beautiful!

  • Wait, how did you get guppies in there?! I thought guppies weren't a brackish species...

Beatiful tank, looks a tad overcrowded though. Probably not, just that I am used to looking at my completely bare fish tank :P.

How hard are those flounders to keep?

  • guppies, like mollies, can be kept in brackish water. The supplier of fancy guppies for my LFS breeds his in brackish water only, apparently they are hardier in these conditions.

I definitely have loads of fry on the go, but the video is a bit deceiving because they have all rushed the front expecting to be fed =)

As for the flounder, they are pretty hard to keep, they prefer live food to the point where most wont eat anything but.

  • i can't see the purple gobies

  • damn those gobies look like bichirs

  • I have heard of Mollies and gobys living in a Brakish Water Tank, But Guppies and Flonder. I have a 5 Gallon Brakish Water with 3 Bumble Bee Gobies.

  • Lots of activity there. The violet gobies look like some prehistoric lifeform. Are those live plants? What is your SG?

  • yeah, the activity level is a bit deceiving, its feeding time and the mollies and guppies are all excited at the front of the tank =) My plants are alive, its been an adventure of trial and error to find ones tolerant of salt, I have java ferns, java moss, anubias, and val. The java's do the best, followed by the val. with the anubias doing thie rbest to look good =) My SG is 1.008
