I had a half installed X-pipe for a day because the auto hobby shop closed early. So I was driving around with just the X-pipe, no mid, no mufflers and Jesus is sounds sexy.
can you do a short video of how you took it off? im trying but ford went ahead and overcomplicated the whole butt end of the v6s....3 hours of my friday wasted trying to unhook the muffler from the frame
@ADD8oi Well I will try to make a video soon. Im sorry its taken me so long to get back to you bro. I've been having to go through what no 20 year old should have to. The trick with unhooking the muffler is understanding how the rubber suspenders work. I found that using a crescent wrench worked best because it fit into the tight space and allowed be to get good torque on the bolt. I had a hell of a time getting the thing back on! I forgot which way the suspenders went, had to play with it.
@StripedStang08 haha oh boy, yeah sounds like what im going through, that muffler is on there pretty good, my other project car never had given this much trouble, but so i do have to take the rubber suspenders off completely then
@ADD8oi Also, I put a GT takeoff back in place of the original v6 muffler. Interestingly enough, the v6 has three rubber mount/suspenders, while the GT version only has two.
@StripedStang08 yeah i know, im having the hardest time trying to get those out, like i never had this much trouble with my bullitt but the v6 is killing me, i ended up driving it off the wheel ramps and getting the ramps stuck under the body...its just been hell trying to do exhaust work haha
go to autozone or what ever auto store u like get a can of PB blaster. its the best rust breaking/ penetrating lube u can get its like $5-$7 but well worth it. spray ur bolt let sit for a min or two longer if bad rust and it should pop off afterwords.

@ADD8oi Yah that is what it would be considered, but its not a true straight pipe. If it were, it'd be longer and I would have mounted it securely. I only did this to see what the Stang sounds without a muffler.
Hmm, I was fortunate enough not to have my muffler rusted on to the pipe. Taking it off is rather simple (only one wrench needed) I'd say go to home depot or your local hardware store and find some sort of rust removing chemical or tool. best of luck
@damnyouzabitch i got pulled over in uniform after taking off my exhaust for shits n giggles (cherry bomb for x-mas yay for that) he looked almost ashamed lol, i didnt really mind, apologized and said have a good day. Not all police officers are dicks.
well, which one did you like best? i went from a single GT takeoff, then finally split to duals and put on the driver's side muffler. sounds good, but i wonder if the "no muffler" set up sounded better than both GT takeoff installed.
Hmm, i definitely loved no muffer way more. It is soo much louder (a little drone though) But if you put on a muffler delete kit with a nice lookin' chrome tip, Itll look nice and sound mean as hell. Search for vids of muffler deleted stangs on here, ive seen a few!
well the no muffler option with automatic transmission really sucks since the gearbox stays at higher rpms too long and is too sluggish and with the drone it sounds really obnoxious. im switcing to a gt takeoff.

I do like the GT takeoff as well. I live in a city that swarms with sheriffs and highway patrol, so the GT muffler is a safer bet for me.
