  • Nice demonstration. Thanks!

  • Nice, but you need to turn the auto white balance off on your camera, the constant shifts from yellow, to white to brown are distracting.

  • where did you get that pot? im so looking for something like that?

  • where do you get glycerin?

  • @hotkeepr7 any chemist's or drugstore should have it.

  • Could you tell me where you got the dispensor for your glycerin? I've been looking high and low and I cannot locate one like that anywhere. Any information will be very helpful. Great vid by the way, I'm definitely going to try this technique. Peace.

  • @SuperGatorfan1 target, I think. it's a soap dispenser.

  • Please do a video on how to make a brush like that! Its awesome. Are all 28mm knots that big?

  • so you should make `how to do uber brush!` video

    (:

    this is more intteresting

  • I was asking about brush!!

    anybody there?!

  • @demlikposet the brush i made for myself. there are no plans to pursue production

  • all i want is this brush

where can i get sth like that

  • 9,999 view baby!!!!!!!!!

  • @jockeys41 hey man, love your videos, where can i find a big brush like that?

  • @tearexeat made it myself! the bristles are from golden nib

  • SO many unnecessary steps when you can just get a modern shave gel that has all those ingredients you mixed up separately already mixed and in better, more stable forms. Just pour on hands and lather on face, shave, done... No need for so much extra crap just to feel like you're in the 18th century and for some weird reason thats supposed to feel cool...

No dis on your vid though, I do like the fact that there are ppl who are keeping th traditions and knowledge alive.

  • @941254 canned gel or foam is absolutely quicker, but is in no way better. in point of fact, it is rather inferior to a good wetshaving soap lathered with a brush, both in terms of lubricity, aesthetics and razorburn prevention.

  • @941254 Canned gel is really terrible in comparison. I didn't believe it either until I've compared and contrasted them both.

I haven't gone hogwild like this guy has - I just use a brush and a bar of shaving soap and go crazy on it for a while, but it really is far and away better than a can of shaving cream (or gel). Far cheaper, too. I use about a 5$ bar of shaving soap a year.

  • People with their magical lather or magical kronik razors. I guess it is slightly better than believing in unicorns or gods.

  • where did u get the scuttle

  • @TheQuantumCrusader lowe's, in the garden section

  • Hey, you stole Mantic's sink!!! ;)

  • just grow in a beard and you can throw all that stuff in the trash and save money

  • ooobuhlahthuh.. hahhaha.. fanboy!

  • Excellent job of hitting the main point. The amount of water is the only remotely difficult part of making lather--and the only way to figure this out is with experience.

Start with too little and add slowly!

  • bingo!

  • Great vid.

Can you make a brush for me?

I will pay you of course.

  • thanks for the interest, but I am not currently pursuing production due to lack of suitable tooling. If this changes, I will notify you.

  • Some really great tricks in this video. Thanks.

  • Where did you get the pump bottle for the glycerin?

  • either target or pier one, can't remember

  • Jockeys41- What brush is that and where did you get it? NICE!!

  • made it!

  • @jockeys41 where did you get your knot and how much did it cost?

  • u use way to much product, waste

  • what do you need to make lather?.. i have gillete shaving cream. i dont know whats the difference can someone answer me?..

  • there is lather and there is lather. volkwagen and ferrari both make cars :)

the uber-lather is more moisturizing, gives a smoother shave regardless of razor, and generally just feels nicer.

  • Well, if you do decide on selling some brushes, I'm sold, so keep me in mind.

  • You can buy a Tweezerman for 15$, and I have read everywhere that it is the best bang for the buck! I bought one myself, and expect it in the mail within a week.

  • I have that same exact green bowl that I use.

  • Pretty cool. I can't wait to try out the Uber-Lather! I really like your brush. Ever think of making some to sell? Since, everyone wants one now.

  • it is being considered, i do not have the necessary tooling to produce more than a couple of these, if i do decide to do this i will post things to my channel.

thanks for the feedback, helps me make the decision of whether to pursue production or not.

  • Did you make or buy those two bowls?

  • I took my Tweezerman brush, sanded it, added a 3 or 4 inch long 5/8 dowel, and painted it all the color of my old truck. I clear coated it and polished it then!

  • Interesting - so did you assemble the bristles yourself too?

  • no, i bought a pre-made knot and glued it into the handle i made

  • What kind of shaving brush is he using - I get that it is a 28mm silvertip badger brush. But what brand? Anyone knows?

  • my brand! I made it myself. I lathed the handle out of african purpleheart wood.

  • this is my daily ritual for my head shaving as well as my face shaving when I do it...easily one of the bests out there, some of the guys on the SBG forum are even catching on to it, i've posted your link there a couple of times. Great stuff man, I bought a real scuttle from dirty bird pottery and shaving is enjoyable :)

  • Cool vid. Is that watch a Tag Formula 1?

  • no, Seiko SKX781 dive watch (aka "The Orange Monster")

  • Mineral Oil works well too in case you wanted to substitute the glycerin

  • awesome, thanks for the tip.

  • Great vid Jockey! Where did you buy the components of your "Redneck Scuttle"? That looks to be about the perfect size for my needs and I don't want to lay out the cash for a scuttle at Dirty Bird!

  • it is a self watering violet pot from either Home Depot or Lowes, I don't remember. they run 6-8 bucks.

  • Jockey, where did you get the glycerin and especially that dispenser you're using?

  • a pharmacy, and target, respectively.

  • Sweet setup. Great lather. Thanks for vids.

  • Thanks, great video

  • I just made this stuff this evening using the bigelow cream VDH deluxe soap and obviously glycerin for my face...and wow...what an INCREDIBLE shave.....such a rich most lather....guys you need to pay attention to this video this man's got something going here
