  • This video is AWESOME!!! Im working on getting a 2008 model...

  • Crown Vics PI's are 4500lb cars. Come on speed racers ... it isnt really FAIR to compare a heavy sedan like these to a feather weight "muscle" car. It's like comparing apples to oranges. DUH. But to be sooo BIG and heavy it is FAST. And it hugs the curves with ease. A VERY under-rated car. And did i mention how dependable they are ? I've heard stories of these cars shooting upwards in the 900k miles. No lie! Take care of it and it will do you good!

  • These things are sick. Hopefully getting one for a daily driver soon. Decided to stop running my prelude in the winter. So lucky for me these are both cheap and reliable.

  • I bought an old white 2003 p71 a while back. Shortyly after I purchased the vehicle, I got pulled over and warned because I was impersonating a police officer by driving the old p71. So, I took the old spotlight and pushbar off and haven't had any trouble since. In other words, it's a very bad idea to speed in an old p71, because the car is noticible to law inforcement officers and it makes them look bad, which I can't blame them for not liking. Fun cars though.

  • @BAMFnavajo thats bullshit i have a 2002 P71 and have been pulled over and asked 'why do you have a pushbar, spot light and front dare plat?' and i tell them why do you sell it like this? its bull shit that we get pulled over for giving the dep. money flip side have had a lot of cops wave. lol

  • @222crownvic I agree. If they didn't want you to drive them, they shouldn't sell the cars as they are. I am a full time engineering student at Penn State, and I don't have time for the local cops and their non sense. If the situation was different for me, I may have considered alternative approaches to the problem.

  • @BAMFnavajo I'm infamous with the State College cops. I went to Penn State and got pulled over in my CVPI about a month after I bought it but because I was being an ass driving it around on a Saturday night. But I don't have a pushbar, spotlights, or any of that shit (although I do have a US Army plate on the front and Police Interceptor badge on the back). All that equipment just tends to rust and rattle around....mine is more like a daily driver, no cage, gun rack, or laptop.

  • Import guys will always trash American cars. These P71's are built like tanks and haul ass. Same engine and transmission as the Mustang just different ECU tuning. Naturally they are slower than a Mustang but for a 4000 LB boat, they move out good.

  • joe dont know doink

  • had an upgrade to your old ass piece and i know better, they are slow. a mustang which aint cool but when it was ; was 5.0 p71 is not plus lots of 4 door weight stupid. dont tell me. buy something like a lexus benz infinity bmw you will see fast better milage and twenty times quality young boy

  • car is not fast wtf plus its a ford

  • @1gretski

dude these things are four door mustangs

  • I would not want to daily drive one of these but it would be fun to blast around with for a day.

  • dont get 1 they r fords .......fat bitch dont really move fun 4 a minute

  • @1gretski WTF? r u fuckin stupid or what do u know anything about a Police Interceptor?!

  • hows the gas millage? i REALLY want to get one, but i cant afford a gas guzzler

  • @SpringCube 14 city and 21 highway.... Not the best.

  • @SpringCube Very bimodal. My 2003 may only get 8-10 mpg on a run to the supermarket, but highway driving without cruise control and the A/C on low can get you 23-25 mpg if you drive carefully.

  • I have both and my Mustang smokes my p71 lol.

  • These cars are just 4-door Mustangs.

  • @Sidewinder9877 u wish

  • @imserious2187 I know. They have the same engines look it up.

  • @Sidewinder9877 it takes more than jus that 4.6

  • @Sidewinder9877 i agree

  • I'd just get one and drive around normally spooking all those around me on cell phones, no seat belts and speeding by me if they dare. Nothing like driving around in what looks like a unmarked patrol car for the ultimate game of truth or dare. Plus, the Vics are built like tanks. They can take it.

  • Had a little fun on a trip with my Vic and my Mom to Harrisburg. We were at a stop sign onto an interstate highway, and I wanted to have a little fun, so I floored it and scared the shit out of her. I was laughing so hard and so long, as Coolio said, even my momma thought my mind was gone. But I let her drive back west on the Turnpike and she got almost 28 mpg out of a Vic - with the A/C on, going 75 mph. We filled up in Carlisle at a BP....no wonder why the Ford lovers gather there, good gas :)

  • was anything done to the vehicle after purchased. I'm looking to buy this 01 p71 this weekend only has 66,000 miles is what has me sold on it. I have always been a CHEVY man so interested playing with the police interceptor

  • wats p71???

  • If you can't afford the little amount these costs become a cop XD

  • @bigblockz8 a brand new CVPI with lights and equipment will run the agency about 50K atleast. The civilian CVPI's are retired CVPI's auctioned by the agency and usually have 100+k miles and mechanical problems.

  • @AMT4245 Former police cars can have high mileage, dents, rough paint, and sometimes worn interiors. But they are fleet maintained vehicles, and therefore very well taken care of mechanically. When neglectful second parties get ahold of them is when they, and any other car will fall apart due to lack of upkeep. Well maintained though, they will run forever. And a basic 2011 P71 is around $30k new, and fully equipped for patrol will run a department well under $40k per unit, not 50.

  • @LateNightCable I'd say too it depends on what the role of the car was in the department. My '03 served as a non-patrol "community watch" car that was a slicktop, so the body, engine, and interior were in awesome shape. What went wrong was that they had let the brakes get down to almost none, the battery completely drained, the starter and LCM burned out, and the parking brakes gone. It pays to get the maintenance history, and be willing to put an extra $2-3k to make the car acceptable ;)

  • The P71 Vic is an amazing car, and has gotten much better over the years. But it lives in the shadow of the long departed 9C1 LT1 Caprice, which was an even more amazing car.

  • God damn, you got a quick Interceptor. That engine must be mint.

  • Got an 06' and was doing 75 in a 55 speed zone and ran into a Ohio State Trooper clocking - i was the first one in the pack so i would of hit the radar FIRST 0 he just waived and on i went. The last thing you want to do in these cars is SLOW down all of a sudden when you get hit with radar this is a dead give away. When they see the nose of that car dive down, it's obvious that your guilty by speeding. Take your chances in these things and keep hauling ass - 8/10 you won't get stopped!

  • @hornetsfanjc I wanna get one in Black with dark limo tints.

  • @hornetsfanjc i have a old ohio state vic and get waived at all the time

  • @222crownvic Sweet! I had an 03 Ohio State vic when they had the grey colored ones. I miss it dearly! Now i have an 05, 06 and an 08 all with under 95k on them. I love them!

  • Its a beutifal car!

  • the only problem I have with the engine in these babies is the fact that they are single overhead, whereas the mercury marauder and the lincoln continental both got the 32v double overhead version rated @ 300hp if I could get some used marauder engine and slap it into one of these p71's I'd feel like I really had something custom, even if nobody else could tell

  • @GodlessMartyr666 Really, you don't even need that....go out and get the 2004 CVPI, put a 3.73 rear end in it, and a 2.25" full exhaust with hi-performance cats. You might not get the raw power of the Marauder, but you'll have a sub-8.0 second CVPI. They slowed down a lot after that because of the drive-by-wire system in 2005 which hurt their performance.

  • @redoctober90 sub 8 sec ?? is this a 1/8th mile not 1/4mile right ??

  • @GodlessMartyr666 swap out the heads,,the modular engine has the same block for all of them in the modular family ,,,,same block with 4valve heads,,

  • @CREAMFILLEDANISH85 I have a 2003 with the MM intake, 2" exhaust and a 3.27 rear end , and it's damn near 8 seconds in the 0-60, so with the 3.73 rear end and another .25" on the exhaust, you should be there. Seriously.

  • @redoctober90 you should be where ??

  • The engine itself is a mass of parts , as with everything on earth, and the batches of parts contained within your engine dictate whether you got a real banger, or a lemon.

  • you can also use the max speed of these cars to gauge the differences in engine performance , as I have seen two identical interceptors with 15km and 19km respectively * ( brand new ) reach speeds in excess of 160mph without a governor, and others of the same model year with minimal mileage ( under 100km ) reach speeds of only 155mph or less.

  • the fact of the matter is an engine is "rated" @ a certain hp peak from the factory, when in reality all engines though built the same are slightly different in that one may produce 249hp consistantly whereas another , built in the same plant at the same time, maybe even coming off the same line on the same day, can produce markedly more ( 260+ hp )

  • @GodlessMartyr666 this is from the cam grinds,,,,no cams are the same ever ,,,, even when you buy cams from crane or some one else you should have them matched to the best that you can,,

  • Hi carguyzo6, You need to figure out your info. the crown victoria is a 4.6L V8 and has about 250hp on it. Your gay.

  • @coporwhat 250hp but 290 ft-lb of torque and also a beefed up transmission, crank and oil / trans-fluid coolers a brand new ( as in un-used, not as in current year ) cvpi is sure to push up to and over 300hp on a good day with fantastic air quality and a recent tune up.

  • slow as fuck

  • @imserious2187

No doubt. These slugs only have something like 187hp at the wheels. 0-60 in like 10 mins.

  • @normanmj Just the stock ones push 220 hp, p71s have upgraded motors, and the car in this vid cud prob 0-60 in under 8 seconds.

  • i hate hw these cars sound goin into second gear, seems to wanna die out at 1st

  • @imserious2187 the hell you talking about... it sounds amazing

  • I want one of these just to fuck around in haha there cheap and have ok parts into them, you can just fuck around hall ass and burnouts haha no care about the car cuz there so dmn cheap fuck it v8?

  • @xeroxowns Lol, true, they are gas-hogs though. I think they avg about 14 MPG. but if i get one it'll more of toy anyway.lol

  • @640101vh when you are driving it like this, they can get about 20 with a little care.

  • @xeroxowns they are a 4.6 liter V8 and the parts are not "ok" they are unstoppable. Why do you think they are over 80% of the police car market to this date. And they arent that cheap, one in decent shape that hasnt had the snot beat out of it will run you anywhere from 2k-6k.

  • I want one of these just to fuck around in haha there cheap and have ok parts into them, you can just fuck around hall ass and burnouts haha no care about the car cuz there so dmn cheap

  • Time to play cops and robbers IN STYLE...

  • 5.7l is a chevy, dodge also has 5.7....Police Interceptors use a 4.6. the shift points are harder, notice at a hard start, it shifts at about 45...it sounds like that because the exaust resonators are removed for flow......

  • @bobvandell2 Cruise control became an option on P71 cruisers a few years ago. I have the Ford Fleet ordering guide in front of me, and it's definitely listed as an option.

  • @Theriomalstrom Had it on my 96 P71. Props.

  • I raced a v6 camaro one time in my old Vic LX, he smoked me off the line but by the time I hit 45 he was well in my rear view :) Loved that car!

  • 0:05 love that fucking sound!

  • @JasonBrodbeckWebsite not if you're being chased LOL

  • @VFA103JollyRogers xD lol

  • The cab company I drove for leased me a 2001 P71.For what I had to pay everyday for it I tried to break it and couldn't.I beat that car for 14 hours straight everyday and I couldn't kill it unless I drained the oil first.I didn't go that far though.

  • Man im drooling!! Im looking to buy a blacked out '00 interceptor when i get back from BCT in august!

  • Nice . I want one now !!!

  • its so sad that caprice's were way quiker than these

  • The unmarked black on black's are the best combinations you can get with an interceptor. These things really are sweet...

  • light bar holes?? what and or how are yours plugged?? nice vid!!

  • CVPI ftw. I have a 95 which I won't have much longer, pretty good condition because it wasn't driver much but it does have some issues.

I'm in college working toward a 4 year Criminal Justice degree so by about 2012 I will be waiting for the E3 by Carbon Motors to go into mass production. The E3 is going to be an amazing police car, and a great tool. 2 built in spot lights on the mirrors either side, night vision pivoting camera, bullet resistant exterior, on board computer, and on and on.

  • Crown Vics = BEST POLICE CRUISERS EVER!! Beautiful V8 rumble...

  • Must be a P73 with the convenience package. I am looking to buy one as well and it has the chrome grill in place of the black one. Full cloth interior and cruise control. That is the difference between the two.

  • I'm not sure what you're seeing. The steering wheels are the same at all trim levels. They did change them to a more square shape around 2005 though.

  • Not really. My 2003 CVPI doesn't have the buttons on the steering wheel (although they would come in handy on some of the longer journeys I take regularly). You're spot on on the 2005 comment though.

  • not really. Not all the models have the (CRUISE CONTROL) buttons on the wheel.

  • @Collin2377 Not having the cruise control buttons doesn't make the car a different model or different trim -- it just means it wasn't ordered with that option! The Police Interceptor does not come in different models. Some departments opt for cruise control, others don't. It's just the preference of that particular department and does not make it a "cruiser" or "detective" model.

  • I did not say they are different, and I was NOT talking about police cars, departments and stuff. Just about crown victoria. u just said the steering wheel is the same at all cars. Not true. Peace.

  • @Collin2377 Well you did say "not all models" so I assumed you thought they were different.

  • You whacker wannabe.

  • very fresh

  • I really want to get a ford crown vic police interceptor,

  • @feb0790 Yes there sweet I have a 2006 ex NYSP car transferred to Alberta canada

  • @feb0790 sell you mine for $1000 as is if your in hawaii or just pay for the shipping

  • @feb0790 me 2 love the sound plus i really want too be a cop

  • @feb0790

Well, get one then. They're not that expensive.

  • They have alot more roar to them when the secondary chip is still present but alot of PDs take them to use on the new ones

  • u apreciate these much more when ur sittin in the back on the plastic seat and ur hands behind ur back lol

  • Hahah,

I read about people complaining about the ''awful'' gasprices in the states, over here in The Netherlands we pay $ 8.58 per gallon...

    How about that!

  • Take it that the people who are interested in these cars (and probably drive them as a result) don't care much about gas prices as much as they like the attitude and *lewis black brbrbrbr* they love big cars with V-8's in them.

Figure we're going to run out of gasoline in my lifetime; we might as well use it while we can get it :D With all the four-bangers and hybrids out there, soon probably there'll be a tax on anything bigger than 3 L in a car. It would suck, though, because 4.0L+ is BETTER

  • I'm definally jelous of that V8 beast

  • Why. Have you never seen a V-8 before?

  • Comment removed

  • Well they have 2 Exhaust pipes. Probably use small mufflers, for more reliability.

  • Yeah my stock muffler is rather large I plan on getting flowmaster 44's soon

  • You'll like it but you have to be patient. When I put mine on, they don't make much more than a barking sound with the stock exhaust, but after a couple of months, you'll get some authentic sound out of the engine.

The nice thing is that the cats themselves muffle the sound enough at low throttle so if you have your lover in the ride, you won't scare them. But on the highway, look out, this 281 roars.

Plus, contrary to what people say, I don't get highway drone as much as 35-40 mph drone...

  • I'm thinking about getting an ex-cop car P71 year 2000+ near my area. I hear they're beefed up more than a regular Crown Vic, like a tougher, heavy duty tranny and engine, and the horsepower is 250 and 290 torque where just the Vic is 200 hp 250 torque. Also, it has "bulletproof" reliability. I always thought it would be imports like Toyota and Honda that are king of reliability. Anyone own these and had zero to a very few probs with their P71?

  • I've had my '03 for a year and I haven't really had anything atypical for a six year old car with 77k sitting outside most of the time. The biggest problem I've had was a bad wire that would cut the engine off. But besides that, a lot of it's just maintenance (brakes, fluids, light bulbs, etc.) But like I tell everyone, do your research first.

If you can, go and get a 2004 or 2005 because they have the new intake and a lot of good upgrades that make them awesome at high speeds :)

  • I'll keep that in mind; I always see them listed in the auto section of craigslist. Thanks for the tip!

  • That and a VERY important point: If you find one and don't like it, don't worry. There are hundreds of thousands of these on the road and many get retired. Be choosy with your choice - especially since chances are what you'll buy will probably have well over 100k on the odometer.

I can't tell you how lucky I was to get an '03 with 67k on the clock for $6k. It took a little fixing up to make it roadworthy, but the best thing was no body or powertrain problems.

  • @redoctober90 up here where I am , our cars get taken off the road anywhere from 80-90k miles on them, some are much earlier. They are in great shape too @ the auctions. I found an 04 in good shape ( literally everything was perfect) for 1200 bucks with 103k. 6k for your car was a cash grab lol ! Auctions for these are the way to go man .

  • Depends, it's like any other car. A lot of the prices where I live were running high at the time (some guy wanted $6k for an '03 with 140k on the odometer.) The nice thing about mine was that it wasn't on patrol duty and didn't have any holes drilled on the outside (and a REAL backseat).

But yea, if you have an '04 that you got for $1200, I'm glad you found it. Maybe if you have a few extra bucks, put a CD player or glasspacks on it. :)

  • thats wierd. my firend had the same problem with his 05. it turned out to be the TPS throttle position sensor. after that he was getting around 400 to a tank. i have owned 11 crown vic police cars and all have gotten in te ball park of 300-430 to a tank the highest milage being my 04 which was suprising since it had the 3.55 axle. my 03 has 3.27 but gets worse milage. i attribute that to pushing hte peddle down more to get going where as the 3.55 has a little more accel off the line.

  • hmm so on average how much to fill up the tank with todays awful gas prices..

  • I had a '93 Mustang GT that came stock with a 2.73 rear (!) and 5 speed. I found the gas mileage much improved when I installed 3.55's--didn't have to shift to lower gears climbing hills, etc.

  • @s0meGuyMarlyMar Recently bought a 2003 ex-ems P71, and it's nice. Was well maintained, though it did need about $500 in repairs for safety certification, and new spark plugs. Just general wear for being a 2003.

After this was all done, I've had no issues with it. Just don't expect good traction in snow, even with snow tires.

  • lmao hes lovin drivin that thing..id love to have a p-71..supercharged tho ;)

  • i would dig havin one of these for my first car but the gas mileage SUCKS :(

  • damn that sounds good

  • I can tell you what, for anyone who bad mouths the ford intercepto V-8's. My dad had a full size bronco that was a border patrol model and it had the 5.8 intercptor in it and it would haul ass!!!. literally. We got it up to 120 and the peg that most old speedometers have on then, we were bouncing the needle on it and were at 2000 rpm and climbing. If he still had it i would put a video up, but 7miles to the gallon 10 years ago killed us. don't know about the 4.6's but the 5.8's are bitchin fast

  • is the driver in a police uniform?

  • no doesn't look like it...

  • Yes they're a 4.6L V8 stock top speed on the older ones is 120mph newer is 140mph it doesn't take much to get these motors into higher top-end.

  • from the police they go 135 with some pretty cheap mods you can easily get 175

  • about 0-60, the vic PI's arent that quick, its top end where they will roll

  • how much gas did you piss away on that nice drive?

  • they actually get pretty good gas mileage for a v8 around 17 to 23

  • and what do you drive?

  • Git r done

  • ford is comming abck with the 5.0 its called the coyotie lol

  • God damn, hauling ass!

  • No They don't they all have the same engine Dumbass

  • they all have thr 4.6 v8

    ide know... i drive em...

  • Nah, they still have the same 4.6L 2V V8 that's been the standard for the Vic since 1992, even the 2009. 5.7 is most likely the LT1 that you're thinking of, which was in the Caprice 9C1 in the early-to-mid 90's.)

(You do mean douchebag when you said that, right? Duesch bag sounds like the thing you carry beer home from Oktoberfest...)

  • no ford never produced a 5.7L V8 the the P71 hey if they did that be awsome! but no it's all a 4.6L 2V Windsor engine 260hp the older crown vic had a 5.0L but that's the closest they got.

  • Right except it's the Modular, not the Windsor. If you tune the block to Mustang specs, you'll get 260 hp. Stock on these models is between 210 and 250 hp on the newer Vics.

Still needs a bit of a power boost, though. Ford hasn't caught up to the 9c1 even though it's 13 years since the bowtie gave it the axe (although I've maintained that the LT1, as nice of an engine as it is, doesn't suit police ops as well as the 4.6 2V. But I think Ford could have unleashed a beast if they tuned a 5.4 L.)

  • the older ones also had a 5.8L 351

  • These have the 4.6 i think

  • the newer ones like this do, i was referring to the older like 80s model years

  • is this guy fucking dumb first off as far as i know a 5.7l is a 350 and that is a chevy engine. so i don't think that ford will take parts from chevy for there p71. that would just be really gay. and last know your shit before you talk.

  • The LT1 350 was the Chevy motor in the old Caprice Interceptors. The P71 is the Crown Vics 4.6 Interceptor, you should know what your talking about before opening your mouth.......carguyzo6??????

  • who replies on a comment that i posted 2 months ago!!!!!! i clearly stated in my comment that a 350 is an lt1 or ls1 CHEVY engines!!!!! and the crown vic engine 4.6l FORD ENGINE

i dont understand why you even commented because you just restated what I ALREADY SAID!!!!!!!

  • @5454viper I know this is late but I mentioned it was the P71 which is the crown vic and I said they don't use parts from chevy for a 5.7L because that would be stupid. you start talking like I was saying it was a Caprice police car when in my comment I clearly state I was talking about Ford's police car. You tell me it has a 4.6L which is correct but I already knew that hence saying the P71 doesn't use a 5.7L. Im not giving you a hard time or shit, Im saying read what I write

  • @carguyzo6 the vic has a 4.6l v8

  • @mrskillz8910 did you even read what I said?

  • @carguyzo6 you said it had a chevy made 5.7l, and you are very wrong

  • @mrskillz8910 Look retard I said the Vic engine is a 4.6l and the 5.7l is a chevy engine what the fuck were you reading

  • @carguyzo6 i was reading the comment that you deleted because you knew i was right. have a great day

  • @mrskillz8910 I did not delete any comment I think you are just full of shit and can't accept that you are wrong

  • @carguyzo6 i didnt pull the fact that you said it had 5.7 out of my ass kiddo

  • @mrskillz8910 maybe you should get your eyes checked I never deleted a post and never said It had a 5.7. My neighbor has one and I know a lot about them so don't tell me what I did

  • @carguyzo6 i drive one all around town every day

  • @carguyzo6 Dodge makes 5.7's to but Chevy quit making theres back in the late 90's

  • @pearldrumsarecool I know and thank you for not being an asshole like the other guy who didn't read anything I said. Chrysler's 5.7l is a 345 not a 350 which the other guy had problems understanding. I can't believe he tried to tell me a vic has a 4.6l when I posted before him that it has a 4.6l he was trying to own me at my own game and it doesn't work that way.

  • @carguyzo6 Lol thats just how some people are these days

  • @pearldrumsarecool yeah I guess haha

  • Also the aluminum drive shaft

  • Good thing about driving a retired P71, crime instantly goes down in your neighborhood. Nobody can figure out if you're a cop, or not, especially if it's just black, and you keep the old, black wheels.

  • Those cars are great!

     hope they are in Europe

  • they are only in america

  • :'(

  • i agree i would use that stuff too!

  • so, it isn't possible to buy it and ship it to Europe?

  • you can do that if you pay fees for the shipping, because this is an american made car, you gotta special order it i think
