  • It is true that switzerland has no ocean connection.

But we still have one advantige that many other countrys on this world do not have.

Very large lakes and powerfull mountaine wind from the Alps

  • We would love to welcome in Valencia again !!!

  • Fuck ernesto bertarelli. He did jack shit to win anything, all the credit goes to Russell Coutts and Ed Baird

  • New Zealanders r th best sailors in the world - Team New Zealand, Alinghi, BMW Oracle. All full of kiwis and all top world class teams swiss r land locked they don't sail. Money talks thats all.

  • hey

nice vid. man that last day finish was intense.

how often do they hold america's cups, anyway? is it every 4 years?

  • Does anybody have any America's cup 2007 finals (full races) coverage?

    I would purchase a copy.

Preferably through ebay - I trust this site for transactions.

  • Hey um i would just like to point out to that smart ass aussie,VonTripps...dont mock New Zealand about losing when Australia didnt even enter a boat so yea :P

  • Ooo I was with NZ all the way! Too bad they lost. Well, there's always next time...

  • Dont mock NZ you guyz cmon! i wish we did crash into alinghi hahaha they only won by 1 SECOND!!!! next time they wont be so lucky, try laugh about that one fools! PS: alinghi cheats :p

  • NZ deffenetly deserved that penelty. it was a really bad manoeuver by them, they where pointing right towards alinghi, and in that situation alinghi is according to rules allowed to fall so far that the wind is coming directlly from the side of the boat if they want but they turned up to the wind to avoid a coalition

  • disappointed as a New Zealander to lose that way but proud of the way the boys put up a fight for the whole series.. we'll be back in 2009 with the new bigger boat! maybe with Coutts or Barker..

  • Please somebody can upload (in megaupload or similar) the video of the race. thank you very much.

Por favor alguien puede colgar (en megaupload o similar) el video de la regata. muchas gracias.

  • Great race. But the series could have gone on for at least one more race. First, I think the penalty was wrong, at least in fleet racing, you have to keep you're proper course and give room to the boat that has to keep clear, NZ had no where to go. And second, if NZ would have done the 360 closer to the line, they wouldnt have had to pick up their speed and finish tacking before Alinghi

  • Great race. Well done to the Swiss and NZ. But next time Australia should have an entry in and we will win. AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!!!

  • Maravillosa regata. TNZ se la jugó, y perdió. Alinghi justo vencedor. ¡Enhorabuena Alinghi!

  • Unbelieveble is that a country on the top of the alps,so far from the sea, is the first european country to win the cup.Any way friends,I'm italian, but all the people have to give respect to the NZ sailors. 50% sailors of America's cup are from NZ. After all I think they are the winners. Regards

  • ..Just for your info...Switzerland is only 1 hour driving from the sea.

    Ciao

  • Yes that's true if the police dont stop you before! From Chiasso to Genova are about 200 km. Anyway my comment was to remark that's funny not unbelieveble that a country famous for his beautiful mountains, one of few countries in Europe not on the sea won the America's cup. Alinghi had only 1 swiss man on board and 5 from NZ so others team had in stategics rules sailors from NZ .. Surely Alinghi was the best but what about Alinghi or Luna Rossa or others without any other NZ sailors? Ciao

  • I recognize that NZ sailors are very good and maybe the best.

I understand also the NZ rage...but I would like to remember that one of the best (maybe the best) solitary sailor in the world is 100% swiss..(bernard stamm). Just for a smile, NewZe Land is very similar to Switzer Land.. Green, Full of Lakes, Important Mountains and good Sailors....perhaps the sea is not so far from Alps...

Ciao and nice wind to everybody!

  • one of my collegues, some years ago had 6 months free from job because he had the desire to visit Indonesia and Oceania. He was so enthusiastic of it that a year later he came back New Zealand, found a new job and found wife over there..and there he lives. What a pity,at that time I was Just married!!About B. Stamm the lone sailor, yes maybe the best.Have you never read Gipsy Moth of Sir F.Cichester the english lone sailor? OK,ciao and good wind.

  • Yes I know him but I didn't read this book yet (thanks for the suggestion!) but I know also the romantic French B. Moitessier, the pitturesque Italian G. Soldini, the brave UK Ellen MC Arthur, the Great and unforgettable NZ Sir Peter Blake....and what about the incredible James Cook...? As of today nobody touched the same latitudes with a sailing boat..all unique Sailors without borders! Ciao and good wind!

  • Dear mgavardi, we're monopolized America's cup!About James Cook,I reccomend you to read his Diaries of board.Unfortunately in italian language I didn't find the complete translation but anyway are super. The first contacts with others people, new lands, is all magic is like to see "live" a landing in a far planet.Oh, if would be possible come back through the time I would like to be there.Again good wind everybody

  • One thing you might not know, the Swiss didn't totally win it in the sense that they had all the best talent or everyone Swiss all the skills to produce such a fast yacht. A majority of the team were taken from the last winning team, yep, Team New Zealand. It's not so much a Swiss victory but a Swiss-Kiwi victory. They wouldn't have made it to the finals without New Zealand. I wonder how the Swiss would react if their countrymen went to Team New Zealand? I doubt they'd be happy about it too.

  • LOL. Not if you're going at the speed limit!

  • La mejor regata en mucho tiempo!!! La mas emocionante!!! La que podia haber ganado cualquiera, pero gano el mejor: Alinghiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!

  • the 7th race was totaly unbelievable, what a thrill! I first fought that team new zeealand would win that race easily, but when they got the penalty after doing a really bad manoeuver i definitly though the race was over and I was just about to leave the room

when the race took an enormous turn, att that poin i thogut that tnz would win untill the very last second when i saw alinghi came steaming in the right upper corner of the tv. the far coolest sailing race i have ever seen!

  • You Kiwis will never learn...hahahahaha

I LOVE IT when NZ loses at....anything! Hahaha

    Cricket, AC...RUGBY! YEAH...GO Wallabies.

Hihihihi HAHAHAHA. Did you forget that Alinghi were

4-2 up? NZ had NOTHING in the BAG..hahaha

You Kiwis actually think you're that good, don't you?

But you all want to be, is Aussie hahaha...NEVER!

By the way, the Bledisloe...,IT'S OURS! HAHAHA Now go Fuck yourself.

  • aussie twat, what a knob

  • Um, so about you winning the Bledisloe?...

Who has it now, and has had for the last few years...

    Now, go fuck yourself!

  • Greatest race in memory! Here in Canada: not even shown on TV... Go figure!

  • This was an awesome race! The Swiss only bet us Kiwis by a second!! If it wasn't for Brad Butterworth giving us a penalty, we would have had it in the bag!!

Without us Kiwis on Alinghi, they wouldn't have won that cup. Wait four years people, cause New Zealand will rise from the ashes!

  • Next cup is not in four years. Probably in 2009!!

  • Thanks for posting this!
