I use to sleep in back off my pops van when I work whit him I did flooring and I use to allways fall asleep whit the door half open becaouse the carpet is to long!!! Man that jib sucks ass good money but it was a killer job thos guys really earn their money!!!!!!
nothing wrong with the carpet in the back. if its under three feet that is, if its over three feet then you need a light at night or a red flag during the day. can't remember what the max past your rear axle your allowed to go.

I definitely wouldn't say anyone could "clearly" see a guy laying down in that shot. Maybe your monitor has a kickass contrast ratio, but I can barely see anything resembling a person in the back of the van.
