  • This is, perhaps, the most clever video for any song on you tube. Absolutely brilliant.

  • This very well may be my favorite song ever. Chillingly truthful, and a simply beautiful song.

  • that bass line is classic magnetic fields. love it and the song

  • :]

  • The knight pun is wonderful.

  • @imshippyupup Is there a secondary meaning to the knight-night pun, or is it solely because they sound the same?

  • @hawaiidispenser I think the video maker just used it because they sound the same.

  • Ty wstrętny de Sosurze.

  • @magdapolska Dlaczego wstretny?

  • Right you are, Schprockit! Very sloppy of me. Lamont Dozier, Brian Holland and Edward Holland, Jr. (the latter two brothers) were awesome as composers, lyricists, arrangers and producers between the three of them. Motown stalwarts through most of the 1960's.

  • Trippy. He name-checks the great songwriter Holland Dozier.

  • @JJNoire Holland Dozier Holland is actually three songwriters

  • after studying for an exam about Ferdinand de Saussure (university sucks :/) for a week this song is exactly what I needed

  • beautiful song.

  • Brilliant video.

  • Absolutely!!!

  • "On a knight like this" ... now I get it. Bit slow today!

    Nice video.

  • It's ridiculous how good this guy's videos are.

  • Charles sanders Pierce shot Ferdinand de Saussure.

  • man, u are great! wanna be my friend?

  • absolutely brilliant song.

  • I wanted very much that Saussure was not dead so I could kill him. This song made it possible to me. lol

  • I totally agree, because since '73 I've wished his ilk left English alone in the first place.

  • Great video and superb song. Isn't it Merritt (the i-person) who says "we are nothing etc" as a respond to Ferdinand's "we don't know anything"? The legacy of Holland-Dozier-Holland makes a great motive for murder, though.

  • who sings this sonG?

  • Stephin Merrith

  • You can find it on "69 Love songs" by "The magnetic fields". Highly recommended album by the way.

  • you have reason.

  • Missunderstood band...

  • Ver much.

  • truly beautiful.

  • i really enjoyed this. i've always loved the song anyway, but you did a great job with the animation. amazing how you got the clay people to look like they're actually saying the words. nice work!!

  • what's up with all the hating on rryking down there? i think what s/he's saying is that the wonderful claymation here would work universally well for many songs. in other words, he gave a compliment!

  • You say fantastic...but I can say bad, because Ferdinand de Saussure was not mediocre or simple man.

  • I think it is because Ferdinand represents the rationalism face of linguistics. The idea is: love is irrational and inexplicable yet beautiful. Think of this 'you can't use a bulldozer/ to study orchids'.

Excuse me for my average English

  • This video makes me smile, there should be more claymation in the world.

  • well said!

  • Fantastic work!

  • could be a video for any band

  • wow, good work, very clever!

  • wow! i love the way you've done each song so different

    amazing

  • i love these songs so much this is one of my favorites. you posted one of the othes "I shatter" can you post "the things we did and didnt do"

  • The melody for this song sounds like it's based off "Let's Go (I like the night life baby)" by The Cars. And that's not a bad thing at all because both bands are great.

  • Fantastic....

  • Clever as heck!

  • nice

  • i have to listen to magnetic fields more often...wow

  • nice..so relaxing to listen to

  • Great work my friend!! Great work indeed!

  • You Sir/Maam, are some sort of music video disseminating God/Goddess! Keep up the amazing work, please.

  • Please post songs from Volume 1 of 69 love songs.

  • OMG you wonderful people making this for us to see!

  • "Whoa-ohh" Fab stuff.

  • In fact, the more i watch it, the more i like it. and i liked it to begin with.

  • Excellent. Keep the magnetic videos coming. A fine choice of song sir!

  • beautiful.
