  • WHERE IS THE REST OF THIS INTERVIEW?!?!

  • I used to work for British Gas and once opened a letter that had a cheque from Des O'Connor in it

  • Cannot believe he's 79, still good looking.

    love

  • The two great Chat Show Hosts come together.

  • des is a very creepy looking character and fancies himself too much

  • Des reminds me of Tony Blair there.

  • Upsetting the pigeons, very funny... :)

  • Britains answer to Perry Como. You have to find them today.

  • And even today! he has a kid under 10yrs old.

  • hmmm i'm on bbc worldwide yet for some reason i'm forced to watch advertising? i'm glad i pay my tv license...

  • how dare the scots be so fusy with comics when all they have given us is the crankies......FAN DABBY DOZY my ass.

  • What about Frankie Boyle?

  • and Billy Connolly...

  • someone who perfomed at glasgow empire said 'if a glasgow audience like you they let you live'

  • rip you!

  • GAPMANRETURNS.

Why did you say RIP Des?

  • Comment removed

  • Better still "gapmanreturns" why don't you R.I.P. Give us all a laugh !!!!

  • For those who dont know, The Glasgow Empire was also known in the 50's + 60's as the English Comedian's Graveyard. You had to make them laugh or you got thrown (and sometimes bottled) off the stage. Famous comedians that "died" there included Des, Morecambe and Wise and Arthur Askey.

It was a real learning curve for many so called "stars", who had their big "I am" rug pulled from under them. Very few made it out of there with their reputation intact, but most turned it to their advantage.

  • What's wrong with Des' upper lip?

  • he,s got the same top lip as Jack Clugman who played QUINCY,he was an ugly bugga as well

  • im a massive morecambe and wise fan, lol, and i found the jokes about des really funny, but its all light hearted. Des himself found them funny, or so they say.

"If you want me to be a gonner get me a LP by Des o'Connor"

    RIP Eric and Ernie

thank you Des for being cool about the jokes.

  • anybody got the interview Des did with Cher when she sang Believe ?

  • Des has a really good singing voice. Morcambe and Wise sent him up, and it sort of stuck. 'Ing's Road" was a great song from Des.

  • King's Road was written by 'Carry On' star Jim Dale. Also known as "Dick-a-dum" but a great song.

  • RIP to all :(

  • Has anyone got the interview with Morcambe and Wise on Parkinson

  • RIP Des, he was a funny man.

  • RIP? He's still alive !!!.....just renewed his marriage vows !!

  • Oh thank god!! This is a miracle. Sorry mate didn't mean to alarm big Des fans

  • Nevermind, sounded like an Eric Morcambe gag hehe.

  • Yes but as Des said himself he's died a thousand times on stage over the years. His best song was " one two three oleary " always liked this gentleman

  • Wed night is not the same without Des show.

  • yes your so right , put DES BACK ON , ALL THERE IS ON IS CHEAP TV , THATS WHY SO MANY ARE ON THERE PC ,

  • PC is more convinenant, thats why it is more popular than TV. Result: less people watch TV and there is less money made for TV to buy shows.

BTW, Des has never been off TV, but the solution is not to bring back the oldies, there is new talent there ... somewhere... i'm sure... they need to find it, rather than the pap they choose to put on.
