  • Hey man, i dont really comment on videos but I really gotta thanks you for your videos.. its been such an awesome help, I really appreciate all the work youve done, Im also a huge Muse fan.. thanks bro .. God bless

  • @Revolucionny Thanks for the kind words. I am glad I could help someone get what they needed out of playing, even if it was just to learn a favorite song. I do it for you. Sharing my knowledge on a topic I have spent a lot of time working with is great, but finding people who appreciate it is even better.

  • you can know the exact time is runnung out tablature?

  • @davide12334 Are you asking for me to tab out the song? If so, I will not. There are many other tabs out there to learn to play this song, and many others.

  • Maybe a stupid question, but what is "clean blend"?

  • @Gliderftw "Clean blend" refers to the ability to add clean, unaffected tone into the signal path. You can purchase specific blender pedals for this, or use the Boss LS-2 and leave one chain open to achieve this. This gives you the effect you were looking for, but adds the clean fundamental tone under, so you don't get low end loss. This is vital to provide all the low end and the effect (Distortion/fuzz/synth).

  • Surely in the chorus of SMBH its more than just the same tone of the verse. Its sound almost like an animato under the EHX.

  • @AyalMorann It appears there is more, but it is not the animato. If anything, it was more of a clipped square wave, not distortion. go you muse live dot com, and download the SMBH without guitar, and you will hear what I am talking about. If you don't remove the guitar, you can still cop the tone nicely, and in a live setting, you cannot tell.

  • I also play in a MUSE tribute band here in Italy, i use a bass big muff before a sansamp to get a devasting fuzz sound, a digitech bass sinth set as octaver and a comp. Wonking on knobs and touch of my fingers i am able to get the right tone almost everywhere. In my opinion trying to emulate the perfect sound is a battle lost before it starts... that's why i dont care anymore about the tone in plug in baby, because i figured out that i will never figure out how to emulate that tone.

  • @pelbriks Well, with a little help from the forums, and some other people, some google research and countless hours with the right pedals and rig, it really was easier than I thought. I have close to $10K into the rig right now, and still need a few more things, but I am happy with the results. Nothing will every truly duplicate studio tone, but getting so close that you can barely tell is an incredible feeling. Needless to say, when we play a Muse song, EVERYONE goes off the chain.

  • Great tone and great t-shirt

  • @pelbriks I love my england shirt... Thumb up to Brit music, culture and Top Gear... I should live there.

  • Great. Maybe a touch too much of the synth decay coming through in during Apocalypse Please, other than that I think you nailed most of it =D I have a deep impact myself, and the main issue I have (especially for Hysteria) is trying to get that high-cutoff sound for each note-on without it sticking on a note too much or sounding too 'muddy'

  • @cyberdems These settings were taken DIRECTLY from his deep impact. This is not my creation. I also have Space Dementia straight from his DI as well. TIRO and I belong to you are both my creation, and IBTY is still in the works.

And for the record, the deep impact was not used in Hysteria. It was the JP-8080 synth, mixed with the Animato/Muff/Clean and octave sounds.

  • oh shit, I never guess SMBH sound was so simple -___-

    I waiting for the Part 4 :D

    naufal6161 - on TB

  • Do you think there's a way you can do all the effects or most of them in a... Digitech BP200?

I can't get all the equipment that you and Chris have....

  • @RockNieto Part of the reason his effects are so good is the character of all of them. Each has it's own unique voice and does what it is supposed to do the best way. There is no replacement for the Animato, or Deep Impact. Those are all or nothing. You might find a sound close to them in another pedal, but most likely it'll be one tone, or one song you can copy, not all the features.
