No, it's not a typo! We were married on August 26, 1978, two years before this song was written, and we're in our early fifties! As the old cliché goes, time really does fly when you're having fun!

Thanks for the honest feedback. We're not what you would call great singers. I wish we could have done a better job too, but without a lot more practice and some good coaching, I'm afraid this is about as good as it gets with us. We actually have done this song for at least one wedding. Blessings on you!

Yes, he wrote it in the summer of 1980, just a few months before his death on December 8th of the same year.
