Ill buy this animal, and i looked it up, and its almost impossible to find someone serious enough to ship one to north america. I like collecting rare animals also, and if possible i may be able to breed them if i can get a pair. WE ARE DESTROYING THE ENVIROMENT and AQUATIC WILDLIFE WILL BE THE FIRST TO SUFFER. If people can, try to preserve the speicies. I would try.
Thanks Japan for making it easier for collectors here in thUSA to get hold of these animals! If it wasn't for youguys I wouldn't have got my womas, carpet python, and lots of great barrior reef fish! If anyone wants any Austrilian rare animals order them from Tomekieo Scientific Corp. they provide you with all the legal papers if the animal is rare or endangered. If it wasn't for hobbist ALOT of rare species would be gone for good!
I swear- every video on YouTube with lungfish in them all involve a dirty or semi-dirty tank that's way too small for the animal. What gives?? My Afican Lungfish lives in an indoor pond, and she's 6 inches long. Plenty of room.
We used to have flexible plastic mesh stretched over the top and secured to the sides so the turtles she lived with didn't escape. Now that the pond is being rebuilt, she's in a 10-gallon quarantine tank, and we've got a screen lid for her and a dimmed Coralife light. You're right- although she never attempted to escape, I'm sure that if I'd never used a lid, she may have seen the opportunity. But so far, so good! :)

shame on those keeping it in such a small tank
it's probably not a wild animal though
there's a farm in QLD that breeds, raises and sells them for BIG bucks

How about you fucking people stop exporting our endangered species out of Australia to keep as "prisoners" in a box of glass....
These things are a living transitional form and is on the brink of extinction.
Shame on you Japan, first the whales, now these guys.
ScienceIsKnowledge 2 years ago
It's hard to generalise...the Botia Sidthimunki is also on the brink of extinction (in the wild) but captive specimen are keeping it going.
saintdracula 2 years ago
Also, they wouldn't be endangered in the first place if you took better care of them.
saintdracula 2 years ago
Yeah.
But believe it or not, man has had very little to do with this animals endangerment.
Australia is drying up. Loss of habitat is the main cause. But to export an animal that is already on its way to extinction for profit is sickening.

this fish live only in south american. now you see it in the zoos. i saw it once too.
