  • He would have made a good replacement Capt. Kirk.

  • He said in a concert once that he was told the song wont go anywhere because it changes its beat so much. LOL. Boy were they wrong.

  • This track is so good, it should have been a theme tune, as you don't mind hearing it again and again, and it's indicative of a track that makes one comfortably move way outside of a so caled 'prefered' genre, just moves to demonstrate that great music is simply that. The chords are just naturally uplifting and in my opinion help creat a mental image of the time in which it was made. Super post.

  • So cheesy and shamelessly derivative -- Herb's quasi-Miles 2-bar break, the Basie piano tinkle at the very end. The dancers can't find a groove (of course, with that stop time and rubato guitar moment). The musicians look anything but involved -- even Herb can't keep a straight face while lip-syncing his trumpet part. Yet there is something irresistible in the song that defies even an arrangement designed to deconstruct it. Ah, the Alpert touch!

  • Amazing. I just love this song

  • Maravilloso!!

  • Herb ,most likely made Zillions off These Little Latin Ditties, But He was Innovative enough to break through . Used to Practice all my early playing along w/ His Records. It ,was much TOUGHER to make it back in 60's w/ all The Heavy Talent , compared to Now Where they dont want Any...

  • Wow! That is an awesome tune!

  • Traducir al español por favor. Gracias.

  • tutto il calcio minuto per minuto!

  • master piece

  • Outstanding quality! thank you, I cant believe I saw a concert in the mid sixties and it was Herb and the TJB in Boston!!

  • I want to take this opportunity to 'Thank You' for uploading all of these great videos of Herb Albert.... He was such a legendary icon, that I think many forget about, which is rather sad, because he is absolutely terrifc and one that I'll certainly remember - Forever! :)

Thanks Again ~ May you have a very blessed 'New Year' ahead, in 2012!

  • First record I ever had. I played it over and over until it wore out! I still love this music.

  • Gotta LOVE it!!! I used baby-sit for these ppl in the 60's, & they had this LP!!! I would put the kids to bed & crank it UP!!! Just not loud e-nuff to wake the kids!

  • I swear those statues are dancing!

  • @silkieart1

    Funny :))))

  • Maravilloso!!

  • Urgh, I was born in the wrong time period

  • Fantastic! herb alpert could kill chuck norris easily with just his grooviness alone.

  • ke figata :))

  • The purest awesome!

  • I was 10 when this came out and this song is still one of my all time favorite songs.

  • This is AWESOME!! I was a young boy when my father bought " Whipped Cream & Other Delights " I automatically fell in love with this LP, especially the album cover!!

  • This is real music !!!

  • @HonkytonkSue2 This is AWESOME MUSIC!!! It was different in the 1960s. The music was great back then. And I think that people back in the 1960s respected each other more then they do today. With all the technology we have, it seems that people are more distant then ever before! How sad!!

  • THIS IS LIPSYNCHED ALSO!!!! NOT FAIR. WE WANT LIVE CONCERTS!!!!

  • Anyone know where this video is from and what show?

  • 0.44 Bird at the front has zero rhythm

  • @malcolmbryant That bird sure looks like the babe on the album cover. Who knows?????

  • how can those musicians play so perfectly together, herp was master, and will always be.

  • De verdad...fabuloso...me acuerdo cuando tenia 5 años....y desde ahi...Herp..para mi es lo mejor....SALUD....!!!!

  • I recently discovered Herb Alpert (well I had heard of his music but never heard of him until recently) and I have to say I'm quite in love with this stuff. But it took me forever to find this song because you can't exactly type into google search "That one song by Herb Alpert that goes da da da da da da daaaaaaa da da da da!"

    Great song though!

  • Y'all have to remember...this was 1967! Recording equipment wasn't what it is today. They used reel-to-reels, multi-tracking and playback to play this good on tv. Yes, this was pre-recorded and played in sync with the film. But no matter how you slice it, Herb Albert & the Tijuana Brass were amazing musicians! I'll bet you dollars to donuts they sounded just as good live as they did on recordings! Not like "musicians" today!!

  • sorry, english aint my first language, but what that guy meant with '' such a talented musician-such a terrible mime'' what is a mime ? awesome cover ^^ they say it's the best ^^ love this youtube channel :D

  • such a talented musician - such a terrible mime - WHY?

  • It's used in a brazilian tv show. Très bizarre.

  • Everytime I hear this song it brings back memories from when I was a child. My dad used to play the LP every Sunday morning and make pancakes. I miss my dad.

  • My dad had this LP back in the sixties. I always thought the the cover of the album jacket was so cool. I always liked the music too. The LP is mine now, scratches and all!!!!

  • It speaks for itself, and what it says is "Grow a mustache".

  • This shoulda been called 'A taste of Salsa'...

  • So groovy

  • Great music, but clearly lip-synching here. Or Horn-synching.

  • I totally agree. Sounds like their "backing track" is the album version. I don't know why they would do this. I just saw a Herb Albert tribute band at TiKi Oasis in San DIego and they sounded great live. I wonder if the applause is live or Memorex?

  • @ibgkneil "Is live or Memorex" saw what you did there. *this face* :)

  • awesome!!! great music...i played this on my Goya guitar in the 60s with my band the Vi-Crons from Lahaina, Maui. Mel, Jimmy, Charlie and i. gooofun, oh yeah. thanks for the post.

  • I love this song. This, and "Whipped Cream" are outstanding tracks.

  • @DetroitJJ you are so right!!

  • Yeah Herb Albert was a swingin man, and hot as it comes...

  • SWINGIN' MAN!

  • I saw this concert on tv last night. Wonderful!

Trouble is, all those cool groovy chicks are now the same age as my Mum!

  • The second trumpet player looks like Dave Whitney's drummer (Ried Jorgansen) in our band doing the TJB!

  • he looks like an italian james brown.

  • Great tune! Herb Alpert would have made a fine James Bond! Wouldn't he? :- )

  • 2 people would rather have mic feedback blasted into their ears all day.

  • Deadly.

  • thank you

  • Better than the modern Latin music of today. All full of crap. i wish latin music was like this and not the stupid songs where women shout like they are being molested.

  • Why don't we ever see great brass bands like this anymore? Jazz with horns is just un-beat-a-ble.

  • HA! I love this song! Great band!

  • This reminds me some kind of car pursuit from 30's

  • What a great song. You gotta love Herb. I remember this song as a kid on at the grocery store.....how great is that?

  • Buena música siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.......

  • I am not a jazz fan, but I found this beautiful (perhaps because it is not hard jazz?). The moment 0:15-25 ("let's go at it, boys!") is so playful, and funny.

    .

And the one 1:14-1:30 with the guitar => trumpet handover is a masterpiece of grace (and even suspense).

  • Brings back my childhood in Cerritos, CA....circa 1968....

  • I love that :X

  • Herb is soo handsome & talented! This is my favorite TJB song!

  • lmfao look at the recumbent trombonist

  • @LTmattYT looks like a tenor to me...

  • @grumble2009 a tenor trombone?

  • i'VE ALWAYS LOVED HIS MUSIC. gLAD i FOUND THIS!!!

  • Such a terrific and catchy melody. One thing I definitely notice about this instrumental - they stick to the hook and beat it to death. Yes, it's quite beautiful, but I would've liked them to have developed the composition beyond the hook a little more. However, I guess they didn't want to get too jazz-like, which is understandable.

  • liked the women rockin out

  • This guy is awesome!

  • Absolute - Amazing !

One of my Favorites and Route 101.

    Amen !

    Love,

    T

  • Grew up Listening to Alpert & his Brass band.He was also the founder of A&M records. You just don't have classics like this anymore.

  • OH YEAH!

This spent a lot of years as the music played behind the sign that said "network difficulties" when a station would lose it's signal.

  • @potaluca Hahaha! That's hilarious! I know what you're talking about!

  • great

  • Makes me feel old ... remembering those from 'way-back-when'.

    But They Are GREAT ! !! !

  • These are just great!

  • Oh yeah.
