In my humble opinnion this song is one of Patti's best I love it

  • ...sounds like Hank Garland...on guitar...!

  • BOTH SIDES got airplay in the Springfield,MA. area and in my opinion,BOTH SIDES should have charted.I have never seen this song in any Patti Page collection.

Would love to hear this in stereo!

  • @wes50smusic1 Good to hear that it did get airplay, and I too have never seen it on any cd. But maybe someday it will be released, and yes Stereo whould be great. This is my favorite side of both.Drop by anytime... :)

  • @wes50smusic1 patentpumps mentioned a cd titled PATTI PAGE THE SINGING RAGE ROCKS Wing CD 135986 that had this song on it,but I was never able to get it.

  • @mezskr4... And thanks for this info....I knew of this C.D. but don't think I ever saw the track listings for it.

Also wondered if it was a legitimate release or not.

I have the original "Patti Page,The Singing Rage" L.P.,which I don't think has ever been reissued yet?

It has a couple nice tracks on it that I haven't seen elsewhere except on the original 45. One being "Everytime I Hear Your Name",which sounds great in stereo.

  • Wonderful !

Thanks Judie for sent it me.

  • SOUNDS LIKE A "THREESOME" TO ME!!!

  • I always liked this song. It was the B side of the 62 hit "Boy's Night Out" . The only CD that includes this song (that I know of) is titled PATTI PAGE THE SINGING RAGE ROCKS Wing CD 135986 MCY made in Italy. I bought it mailorder from Discollector (also have a website).

  • Hi, I looked up the Cd that you mentioned, but I could not find a track listing for it.Does it have all of her Mercury recordings on it.Any information would help. Thanks

  • JoeDur59 - I answer this way because Reply does not work for me.Thanks for such excellent information.I did not know any of that.I learn so much from youtube, because someone is always willing to give us the benifit of there knowlage. Thanks so much. I will look up that LP and see if any of thoes songs are on my Cd's or records..Hope that you enjoyed the song.

  • A relatively small number of Patti Page Mercury recordings from 1958 through 1962 have been released on CDs. Mercury Records seems to have no interest in releasing her recordings. A good Patti Page LP record to listen to is Country and Western Hits #2 (Go On Home) which includes several songs with similar arrangements as "Three Fools." Foreign companies have to wait 50 years before releasing recordings of popular vocalists.

  • Foreign record companies would be able to release these recordings if they were willing to pay the royalties the owners ask. When they release a performers' recordings after that 50 year period they pay no royalties to the owner of the recording (the company or the artist).

Apparently this is happening all the time and the owner of the recorded work and the artists are not happy as these compete with licensed recordings on which they receive a royalty on each CD sold.

  • A foreign record company would likely have to pay licensing fees upfront instead of royalties. The original record company is aware of how companies have underestimated sales to minimize royalties to artists. Licensing fees could be thousands of dollars per track on a CD. The foreign company would rather use recorded songs that are at least 50-years-old than to gamble by spending tens of thousands on licensing fees for a 12 to 24-track CD that may not sell well enough to make a profit.

  • Sorry about the mixup when I posted. I actually meant "licensing fees" and did not realize til later that I'd said royalties.

    Thanks for updating the information.

  • Thanks for the comment. What a great voice and such style.I have many of her Cd's but is it not on any of them.I picked this up at Goodwill for 24 cents along with other DJ copies.

  • Aww I didn't know this one, it's lovely!! Thanks for sharing
