The Cure are definitely Goth or at the very least Alt./Indie with a heavy leaning towards Goth. Fat Bob was a member of Siouxsie And The Banshees for a short time and they're definitely Goth. Aye, I'll give you the fact that they often have a more electronic lead sound than most of the other famous Goth bands like the Sisters of Mercy, the Mission et al, but that does not make them a Pop group by any stretch of the imagination. Fuck this emo shit. If anything, The Cure inspired goth rock. They never really were any one genre, which is why I feel they are the best band of the 80s. Their sound always changes. What I've always loved about this song is that if you were to judge the song's content by the title, you might think it to be another smarmy love song.

But the lyrics to this song couldn't be any more cryptic, and to be honest, they could mean just about anything if you look into it far enough. The Cure was always real good at that. I also love how Smith saved the song's title until the end, which makes it even less predictable.
