Kung Fu movies are an extension of Chinese dance/drama. All I know to compare it with is Japanese kabuki. The beauty is in the choreography. A Chinese doesn't watch it and think fighting, he thinks dancing.

that seems pretty incorrect to me. this is actual kung fu many of the actual moves in styles put together in a given predicament. it's basically making up forms and putting a story to it.

Bench sets in Southern KF styles are commonly found in Hung Gar, Pak Hok Pai, Choy Lee Fut, White Eyebrow and others. Obviously a lot people on Youtube are not familiar with Chinese Martial Arts.
