When I went there two Decembers ago I wondered why the water was gone! I recently went to WDW and while on a tour of the Magic Kingdom my tour guide was talking about the new show that will be in DCA. No wonder! I have to get caught up on news for the park :P
Still can't wait for the little mermaid ride also!!
GO DL!!
And also, I saw that water show @ EPCOT and I thought it was ok :/
Try this, they floated a barge out into the lagoon that had a fountain/water jet attatched. The barge was there during the day for all to see and most of the Disney news sites were reporting that the barge was there for testing. My husband and I just happened to be lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to take video.
As I said above, the video was taken on October 20, 2008! The lagoon was NOT empty at that time. We were there for Mickey's Trick or Treat and anyone else there at for that event would tell you that the lagoon was still full at that time. The video was shot from the Paradise Pier Hotel. I assure you that there was water in the lagoon when this video was shot.
Yeah, they're making progress. Just went there a couple weeks ago for a vacay, so i saw the process of it. It's opening in Spring 2010, maybe you'll see it, but I'm not, bcuz i only go once every 2 years in December. The whole thing's larger than a football field!!!!!!! =)
@WhiteLioness100 omg! why didnt you tell me about this earlier on that other video? and its funny, because most of the Disney vids i watched today have had a comment from you. lol
You're the only one that knows that!!!!! :D I'm sorry, i don't think i saw a comment from you on the other video. Im just a big Disney fangirl, that's all. I've been going to Disneyland since I was 7 months old. I think with the World of Color thing they're gonna also fill up that part of the lagoon soon. LOLZ at least someone saw my comments!!!! :D
We were there before you and took this video on Oct. 20, 2008. The lagoon was full at that time and we saw testing (lasting several hours) two of the nights we were there. While I'm sure that no one would consider this to be full on testing, it was preliminary testing for the show. The video really doesn't capture the essence of the water as we could see with our own eyes. The plume of water was taller than the Orange Stinger and the lights used to illuminate it were amazing.
I don't think thats the World of Colour rehersal you're filming. I went in Nov/Dec last year and they had only just drained all the water which was stage 1.
They have to install it all first before they can test it. This won't happen for a while at least.
I work at DCa, the drain took place just before the X-mas season. This is the World of color testing, and I can tell you this without a hint of doubt, mainly due to the fact that I worked on the nights the testing was going on.
oh yeah cant wait to this comes out im cast meber and seeing this backstage they arealot work to be done just cant wait to see this idk how there going to the times for park they have to later hrs for this show plus the fanstmic
"why is i practicing?" "shshshshshhhhh" hahaha. well thanks now i cant enjoy this. jaykay. omg this is... odd once i saw this i got like butterflies. i mean only saw the tiitle, idk but im am a huge disney fan and this is wow!!! im super excited. this is going to be great but itds a huge light and the park looks tiny weenie. lol

The lagoon looks pretty dull, but they are installing the fountains and all. Pretty construction messy, but is is going good.
