@SeaShores68 With all due respect, I highly doubt that your school production boasted a better leading lady than a Broadway production. Perhaps she imbued the character with attributes that you preferred, but there can't be a comparison between Sutton Foster and your friend from school, simply because of the difference in experience and professionalism.

I just got back from NYC and I saw this show. I also know parts from anything goes and blow Gabriel blow. A man from this show taught us. After the show we went backstage and met Joel Grey!!!

I LOVE Sutton Foster; I love Bernadette Peters, Patti Lupone, but I do NOT see the appeal in thsi show whatsoever. I have yet to be able to get into it at all.

@irkenequine Have you seen the entire show onstage ? The book of AG was in trouble in 1934 BEFORE it premiered. Halfway thru tryouts,et al, it had to be rewritten because a REAL liner burned & sank AND they've never really solved the 'Billy' problem- is he a slightly sleezy second-rate comic OR is he a young guy head-over-heels for Hope ? AG ends up being a lighthearted combination farce and fantasy at best.
