this game only has one flaw... laptop, it sucks floppy donky dick if you have a small laptop, you cant open doors for shit and can barely turn corners, but other than that its the best game iv ever uncompleted.... too scared to finish it

this game is so awesome. i love how much it feels like a nightmare. sometimes when you see a monster all of sudden you get really dizzy, slow and kinda fall to the ground as if your legs stop obeying you, making it really hard to escape. just like in my nightmares of old.

this is without a shadow of a doubt the scariest game ever. even i, stonehearted as i am, got some really good chills down my spine. i finally know what it feels to be about to be killed and can't do shit about it.

What really scares me is that in this game you can be scared so shitles that you actually try to "block" a door that opens to the OUTSIDE!!! by stacking things INSIDE :P

It makes me laugh how a game company like monolith(created F.E.A.R series) can shower their games in money and end up with a game thats like childsplay compared to frictional games' incredible immersion and ingenious games. I comes to show I'd rather have a small group with limited budget that knows what the're doing than a huge game company that doesn't take their time and slaps a game together. Big inspiration there.

@TheFiregodSkaters Then again, Monolith made classic games like "Blood" which was one of the first, if not THE first to introduce features of games that we now take for granted such as an alternative fire for weapons. Both Amnesia and FEAR are scary games but for very different reasons, so it's hard to compare them. FEAR isn't about survival, it forces you to fight which can be scary if pitted against the right kind of enemies. Amnesia makes you flee in terror. Budget or not, both great. :)

Of course large commercial developers fail at horror. Mainly because they are too lazy to experiment with game-play. They'd get scares through filmic techniques and slap some dumb combat in, definitely not pushing the medium to its limits.

Larger companies also fear of making games that are too scary, because they want to appeal to a pansie audience that merely play horror to heighten their ego.

I would never call games like F.E.A.R. or Resident Evil horror games. They are just damn shooters with some scary elements. When it comes to Amnesia I can truly say that it is the survival horror game because you're trying to survive in a nightmare. No weapons, no defense - only your cleverness. It's surely a great game because sometimes it makes you panic like in the real damn life.

You know, the water really didn't scare me... I kind of got over it after I realized that:

A) You can out run it.

B) You can't see it, so its less scary, its just like getting damage. Except for the growling...

The thing that scared me sh*t less were the unsettling events, like the doors opening by themselves, and ESPECIALLY the noise it makes when something strange happens.

I have played so many horror games, but only this demo is scarier than anything I have ever played. Penumbra was scary as hell the first time I played it, but compared to Amnesia, it's nothing.

I will definitely buy the game. I will & would pay anything for a boxed version. ^_^

Just played the demo, mind = blown. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, the sounds in particular. I actually love you Frictional Games. I knew this game would be amazing having played the Penumbra series, but it's far surpassed what I anticipated, even from this small glimpse of what's yet to come in 5 days. I honestly can't wait for the release of this, I've been excited for months but the demo has just put me completely on edge.

@TheMeow7410 No need to be such a douche. In all honesty I liked Amnesia a lot, but once you knew what you were doing it wasn´t scary anymore. I only played at night, with earphones and no lights and I toyed around with the gatherers in my first playthrough. Besides, their appearance is not scary at all. Chase scenes are intense but that´s all. And I doubt you played SH2 because helplessness is exactly what you feel while facing Pyramid Head and realize your weapons don´t do shit to him.
