When you come, please rid this world of the Justin Bieber/Justin Timberlake/Jersey Shore wannabes

  • @ShadowParanoya Amen to that.)))

  • What? Cthulhu vs Godzilla? Godzilla wouldnt stand a chance Cthulhu is the highest priest of the great old ones and destroys worlds and is the size of a motherfuckin mountain yeah cthulhu wins

  • When will we see him?

  • Cthulhu... wings.... tentacles... from the ocean........ 'flying spaghetti monster?' where did that come from? 'Beat from the sea' in the book of revelations... hm.

    Bullshizzit :D

  • You know, the wings and tentacles could explain where the 'flying spaghetti monster' came from...

  • @OushGisher i think im the only one who understand wat ur saying XDXD

  • Cthulhu F'ta'gn

  • dalatuesday! dalatuesday! dalatuesday! dalatuesday!

  • Cthulhu may think he's the shit. But lets see him fight a round with Godzilla. Then we'll see who the real lord of darkness is.

  • @SuperIllusiveman The mere presence of Cthulhu will drive anything to insanity. Godzilla will go mad before fighting him, and plus their friends, why would they fight? >:/

  • @daberko120ch Well, seeing as how in the story, Cthulhu is defeated by a boat driving into his head, I's think Godzilla have a shot.

  • i remember when they had Cthulhu on grim adventures of billy and mandy, i was all D=

  • What is the name of the Cults that Worship Cthulhu

  • @Joeyal123 The Esoteric Order of Dagon is the only cult from the mythos that explicitly worships Cthulhu that I can remember. Although Dagon is their primary god they, as sea worshipers, also follow Cthulhu. When you are reading a Lovecraft story (or a Lovecraftian Story) or are seeing a Lovecraft inspired movie and hear the name Dagon mentioned you can bet it is connected to Cthulhu.

  • @Joeyal123 Also if you want to read a book SPECIFICALLY about the cults of the Old Ones then I HIGHLY recommend "Necronomicon: The Wanderings of Alhazred" by Donald Tyson. This book is a MUST for those interested in the Cthulhu Mythos specifically as opposed to just the general works of H.P. Lovecraft.

  • i herd the song "cthulhu sleeps" by deadmau5... i look up "cthulhu"...FUCKING CREEPY!!!! ITS A BIGASS OCTOPUS MIXED UP WITH A HUMAN OR DEMON OF SOME SORT!!!!!

  • i dont want to bag on anyones religion but well....... here we go who could possibly believe in a monster like that which looks like it hopped out of a science fiction book? i mean its almost as dumb as scientology

  • @aliciaten not to mention the fact that the person who wrote it labeled it as FICTION......

  • @Somespatanwarrior yes well now u get my point dont u for im talking to the people who take this shit seriously

  • @aliciaten HP Lovecraft wrote this purposely as a fantasy book.

  • @perrottafamily1 ya but some people believe in it so im saying that they are stupid

  • who tha fuck is cthulhu?? i saw it on south park and i thought that he was only a joke

  • @heber1908 Cthulhu is the Elder God and main antagonist of H.P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos book series. It's a pretty good read. Go check it out sometime.

  • @LordMoonshadowGaGa yes actually i read about it and sounds interesting thanks for the info =)

  • I'm an atheist, so this is all a joke to be, but it's still cool... or atleast cool looking. Hey and even if there is a rapture and im left here to be eaten by that thing, atleast i died seeing some kickass sea monster. Right on!

  • What if Cthulhu destoryed the Dinosaurs?? and the human civilization were next?

  • oh SHIT doesn't bible say something about beast or demon, who rises from the sea??

  • @DeathRow200 Dude, virtually every religion does.

  • This fucker looks like the CRAKEN....

  • nice video

  • 1:19 Imagine you're on a boat, far away from home. You wake up one morning and BOOM! This big son of a bitch pops out of the water.

  • The painting at 1:44 gives me the shivers...

Who was the artist? Looked like "Trey Damien" something. I lost track of the order.

  • 1:18 Whoa. Now *that's* scary. Beast from the Sea, indeed.

  • I swear it just got alot colder in here

  • Cthulhu riseth from the ocean and lay waste to the sovereign kings, crowning his own world as the repulsive tags the scociety of humansd have given him, and as he reigns, as the necronomicon dictates...

That is, until chuck norris gets word of his arrival...

  • @MarkJohansen123 Chuck Norris..kicking ass old school!

  • The same people that believe in this 'might' also believe in the men in black.

  • Kraken can suck it!!!!

  • this is a real dark lord that people actually worship? fucking south park

  • @zero4430 err, actually its a god...an "old one" created by master of cosmic-horror H.P. Lovecraft. South-park ripped it off to hilarious affect.

  • @zero4430 err, actually its a god...an "old one" created by master of cosmic-horror H.P. Lovecraft. South-park ripped it off to hilarious affect.

  • @zero4430 its a science fiction character made by H.P Lovecraft

  • @zero4430 so the antichrist got a new enemy!

  • @zero4430 South park tends to only make fun of things that have been around for a while. Also yes, there are people who have developed a magic system from Lovecraft's writings.

  • @zero4430 ikr

  • Cthulhu Fhtagn !!!

  • I have a great desire to join the Cult. Praise the dark name of Cthulhu.

  • i have seen cthulu many many times while i stare out at the ocean from my window. far far out on the horizon i have seen him momentarily, a glimpse of him, many times, possibly hundreds of times. If i can join the cult, i would be honered.

  • may i join the cult

  • All Hail Lords Cthulhu and Godzilla!

  • Hail Lord Cthulhu!

  • Cthulu, High priest of the elder gods. When the stars allign, he shall be awakened, and will call the old ones to bring woe and destruction to mankind. Sorry, I'm obsessed with Lovecraft.

  • Fascinating monster....

  • This is the perfect song for Cthulhu. It starts slow, almost slumbering. The sound makes gives you idea of immense space, untold depths. Darkness. Then, slowly, the drum beats pick up the pace. I can almost see the waves churn, and boil as R'lyeh rises to the surface, and finally, Cthulhu's massive eyes snapping open and illuminating the darkness for one last moment before all goes falls into madness and chaos.

  • 1:29 is actually the Dunwich horror

  • isnt the picture in 1:20 Kthanid, the brother of Cthulhu? I guess Cthulhu would make such and dark atmoosphere around him that all that shine would disappear :S

  • the best demon ever!

  • the image at 1:20 is very powerful. It struck a chord with me. I wish I could frame it and put it in my house.

  • Silly Cthulhoola hoop. Always so angry, give us a smile big boy!

  • Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

  • He Wakes

  • awesome!!!!!

  • astonishing

  • 1:27

    What the hell is that?!?

  • I'm guessing Lovecraft was afraid of the water o.O

  • 1:18 was my fav

  • Does anyone know how to pronunciate Cthulhu

  • @DragonInk101 kuh too loo

but the T sounds like th, as in the.

    but still just a T

  • @AKSCARY depends on which pronunciation you use, because even Lovecraft used several. The one most used is the kuh-too-loo however Lovecraft originally said it is only two syllables, but here are two letters he wrote to friends on the subject, so you can decide:

  • Comment removed

  • @AKSCARY The best approximation one can make is to grunt, bark, or cough the imperfectly-formed syllables Cluh-Luh with the tip of the tongue firmly affixed to the roof of the mouth. (to Willis Conover, 29 August 1936)

  • @AKSCARY The actual sound—as nearly as human organs could imitate it or human letters record it—may be taken as something like Khlûl’-hloo, with the first syllable pronounced gutturally and very thickly. The u is about like that in full; and the first syllable is not unlike klul in sound, since the h represents the guttural thickness. The second syllable is not very well rendered—the l sound being unrepresented. (to Duane Rimel, 23 July 1934)

  • I meant theme, not them :P

  • Where can I find the image at 2:03. I love it. Can you imagine being out in the middle of the ocean and seeing that surface?

  • i love the pic at 1:20!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cgof'nn nghrii gnaiih Dagon ng'fhalma Hydra.

Cvulgtlagln Cthulhu shuggoth throd! C'ai Cthulhuyar ah clloig! I'a Cthulhu! I'a gnaiih Dagon! I'a fhalma Hydra!

  • In the music I keep hearing "Ftagn" meaning "Sleeps" from the famous Cthulhu inscription. That could be the schizophrenia talking, though.

  • @IncrediblyCompName Are you sure ftag'n means "sleep" ? ^^

  • @systemiens Not sure, but I think so.

  • I love you Cthulu!!!! Big Smooooooooch!!!

  • for me the last image worked the best,l think the essence of Cthulhu is that you should imagine some of him, rather than see him as a whole..the image at 1.34...Cthulhu on crack??

  • @Pzgdr; Spot on. To me, the best one was the image at 1:10-1:14. Just his face.

I find that the reason Lovecraft never really explained the creature in all its grotesque glory, is because when left to its own devices the mind can come up with concepts far more terrifying to you than any author could.

After all, only you yourself know for sure what truely scares the deepest recesses of your own mind.

  • i saw something huge in the ocean last time i went to florida

  • it was my mom

  • i dont think it was that big

  • hehe ..xD yeah

  • What song is this?

  • "Prelude/Last Day of Sun" - Brian Reitzell, from the film "30 Days of Night"

  • cthulu rocks

  • Does anyone know how I can order such paintings here in Europe?

  • YOu must know an old one.

  • cthulu is my favorite! re'yeh! i live in re'yeh im a cthulu cultist jk

  • I´m a cultist too we should know each other.

  • In the selfless cult of cthulhu, you shall only know anon.

  • Can you say terrorfiend or terror knight from everquest 1 lol.

  • OMG! That picture on 1:57 actually reminded me A LOT of that monster in the Korean movie "the host"... Scary!

  • I just saw that movie. It was good in some parts, ridiculously slow in other parts. But It's still a fairly good and original movie, by Korean horror standards.

  • @Jayahind Lovecraft was one of the very first people to create the them of monsters having tentacles. It is SO overused these days. Love me some Lovecraft.

  • Gotta love deviantart!

  • i like the art ^^

unfortunately that will not prevent Cthulhu from SWALLOWING MY SOUL WHILE RENDERING MY MIND TO INSANITY! XD

  • 0:28 looks very nice

  • 2:07 sci-fi cthulu

  • The music coupled with the pictures makes for a very creepy view of Cthulhu.

IQuite inspirational, in the Cthulhu-esque sense. 5 stars.

  • to me cthulhu is real and cooler then a ghost, bigfoot, and a rakshasa

  • reminds me of the 80's cartoon inhumaniods

  • i think he's real

  • There are some who think that lovecraft could have based his cthulhu mythos off of some ancient cult and they relate his return to the year 2012 which is supposed to be like a big change in the world

  • 2012 is enlightenment, from Quetzacotl.

    2112 is Rush.

2222 is the return of Dread Cthulhu, when he shall take all of us from our mortal coil into his palace at R'lyeh. Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!

  • hey im curious

wat do u mean 2012 ? 2112? 2222> is that years? wat will happen on those eyars?

  • great! i really like the image at 1:18

    5* ^^^

  • yea he looks menacing, like somethin out of God of War

  • I have heard that we have discovered more about the universe than we know about the ocean. There may be things down there that we hope to never uncover.

  • And it is there still and wait too we no longer are looking at the sea and are fighting at land then it is his time to come. What is his master plan? no one knows except himself (and some over leading monsters)

  • It´s not the tentacles and the bat wings that scares people. It´s thinking about the ocean: It covers a ridicolous percentage of our planet, and it certainly has that kind of "You´re not supposed to know what hides down there, in the deepest, darkest corners of the earth" feeling about it.

Then there´s the idea that some unimaginable, dead, evil being older than time itself slumbers down there. Forever sleeping and waiting, until the stars are just right...

    Now that´s scary

  • @steaktastebetterpill

damn. that there just messed my mind up. great... its like "jaws" all over again.

  • @steaktastebetterpill indeed, i belive cthullu can be as compared to as godzilla, hed be as scary to is he wloud come from the sea like that

  • @steaktastebetterpill Ya. The picture where its head is like coming out of an amonites shell, that made me think it would be cool like an armoured cthulhu, covered in shell armour.

  • @steaktastebetterpill HELL YEA thats exactly what i like the sea the old the one u dont know what can lie :D

  • @steaktastebetterpill i think the most terrifying aspect of this elder god is that it can actually render your soul his for all eternity. trapped within an everlasting nightmare or devoured with no hope of your soul transcending to a new form. that its all a lie. everything that youve wrapped your beliefs around is nothing more than a vain attempt to shield you from utter insignifacance and eventually something worser still than oblivion. your parents, children, pets....

  • @steaktastebetterpill "The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown" - HPL

  • @steaktastebetterpill mistwer pweaes tells me its fake oh pwease :(

  • madness, love the artwork

too late for me, iv already looked at its eyes *goes insane*

  • wooooooooooow...

    amazing

  • Just discoverd Cthulhu mythos and I am falling in love. I am trying to get my hands some H.P. Lovecraft books.

  • from what i can gather cthulhu hates humans and would rather destroy them any who worship him will most likely die when he awakes the few faithful humans that he may have use of will be blessed with blindness so they dont immediatly go mad in his presence I find Yog-Sothoth to be a much more sutible God no form to drive you insane and pretty much only covets knowledge Imagine the secrets you can learn in such a presence

  • My favourite H.P. story has to be In the "Mountains of Madness". And by the way, Cthulu probably looks like the face of The Pope.

  • I got a book with a collection of some of his stories and the next story I´ll read are Mountains of Madness :)

  • I guess octopus tentacles and bat wings scare people.

  • Damn creepy. Ia!!!

  • 1:19 is clearly the best pic i've ever seen

  • I rather agree.

  • @Redline1671 i have that as my desktop backround, even though it doesnt have wings its just seems so freakin ....wrong

  • @Redline1671 I agree. It's scary as hell.

  • thats davy jones, cthulhu has no heart.

  • Well excuse me for not being obsessed with a god who makes you go insane if you look at him

  • Ive read every story by lovecraft as well as many of the stories that where inspired by him. The thing I enjoied the most of Lovecraft was his lack of descriptions for the horror. he wanted the readers own sick thinking attack his mind. I personaly believe that this is the thing that made his work so endureing.

  • Which type of stories did you like best?

    The Tales of Cosmic Horror?

    The Dunsanian Fantasies?

Or The More Gothic Poe Inspired Works?

I started out reading his more well-known Cthulhu Mythos stories but now I'm started to get into his early fantasy work, it's truly captivating and beautiful
