Silly kids. Perry gets paid when the song is played. As far as a fresh boost, I think that there can be no freshness to an original unless it is made the "fresh" artist own. This is clearly not the case ( i.e.Paul Rogers joining Queen). Though the kid has a great voice, the style belongs solely to the originator which is Perry. His movements, vocal technique and stage persona belong to someone else. though It is a nice for the live audience to hear an exact recreation of the old sound.
That solo at the end still gives me goosebumps. He can still jam it just as good as he did back in the day, too. I miss Steve just like everyone else...but hey, if this is what Journey wants, then that's good enough for this fan. They still sound awesome.

All I know is that Journey is back ! I am grateful to Arnel for putting journey back on the road. Nothing against Mr. Perry, he WAS a great singer. The fans deserve to see them perform. Mr. Perry did not care about the fans apparently,or he would be still be singing with the band.

Arnel is going to damage his chords by straining to hit those famous notes! Steve can still hit high notes, scaling beautifully upward with little effort -- albeit at a lower pitch, like on Frontiers and Trial by Fire, but he is still terrific.

30 percent who attended the concert were mostly Pinoys. That was a great concert. At the end of the show, Arnel seems that he was reluctant to leave because he walked so slowly toward the back stage. You know when you see Pinoy, you get excited and feel at home with kababayan.
Always loved Journey, can't wait to see them this fall.
The Debate over singers is silly-
Perry was the third singer hired by the band,
and a very good one, but the band still makes great music no matter who they hire to sing.
