@N2Lucky I have an M17x myself, and I only paid an extra $50 for a laptop with the same specs as any other brands. That $50 got me an amazing warranty, an incredible looking laptop, and the prestige of an Alienware. So, in short, you are wrong.

You can buy a Sony F series at frys (i just went there) for around 1,100 dollars. It has a better processor (i7) but a lesser graphics card. It matches alienware's specs (excluding the graphics card) for about 500 dollars savings.

Please dont tell me you need a better graphics card for 500 dollars ;D

I really dont know what to say. I own an ipod touch 1st gen. Lasted for 3 years and keeps me entertained every day.

I just build a comp on newegg using the least expensive of every part that matches the cheapest alienware desktop, and it came out to $770. And by cheapest part, i mean i got RAM that didn't even have a heatsink on it.

The alienware is exactly the same, only it has the famous alienware P2 chassis, is filled with only high quality components, comes with a free windows 7 upgarde.

And it has a warranty.

Comparing their cheapest destop WITHOUT a monitor to a custom built Newegg computer WITH a monitor, you can get up to 3x the value for the same price.

Go on newegg and search for: HP Pavilion dv7-2180us NoteBook.

I personally own this computer (as an on-the-go gaming PC) and it works great. Personally, I've run WoW, Aion, Unreal Tournament 3, and gotten 40-ish fps on MAX settings.

It's a great choice for under $1500.

Yeah overall I do agree that I prefer sticking my gaming to consoles and other business on PCs. Editing videos hogs up enough hard drive space as it is. I can't spare much for games.
