  • this is a great tutorial! :) i'm especially happy that you've used the clinique anti blemish solutions foundation in this video! i'm kinda into that foundation at the moment.

what would be very interesting for me to know is how you've applied the clinique foundation? i've used my fingers until now.. but i'm struggling, because that foundation is drying and mattifying so quickly. would you recommend a brush instead or have you also used just your fingers? thx for answering :)) love your vids!

  • Dear Lisa! After watching this video I will do whatever it takes to get the "Benefit Cream Eyeshadow", however (and you are probably going to bite my head as I can imagine you get a lot of questions like that) what colour would you recommand to light greenish, bluish eyes? --> "Skinny Jeans" or "Strut"

Thank you so, so much for your help! You have taken the fear of make up of me... V

  • After watching your videos, no other make-up gurus seem to compare! You're the best among the rest that I've seen so far and your tips are wearable, customizable, and natural-looking. You do it to "enhance" natural beauty, whether it be a smokey eye or dark lip. I wish you're my make-up artist! <3

  • this kind of reminds me of my ' 5 minute smokey eye' look that I do on myself for the daytime. I just take a creamy eyeliner pencil and color my lid and upper lash line and then blend it, waterline, and add mascara. To make it last all day use an eyeshadow primer underneath and set it VERY lightly with a translucent powder. I however happen to like the slightly glossy finish it gets as it creases throughout the day :)

  • Finally, a simple easy smokey eye, absolutely love it!

  • this looks just amazing!

  • I'm loving all these cream shadows that are long wear & crease proof! They really work & are extremely versatile. Great tutorial using these products!

  • Simple but stylish

  • Love this video! And - that Artifact eyeshadow is fantastic on you. Amazing, truly.

  • omg love ur ring lisa! The lip haha it's so cute!! And I am def interested in the Clinique foundation u used in the beginning

  • heehee you should go out like that- one eye red, one blue :D

  • One of my favourite makeup videos, what colours would you suggest for black/dark brown eyes with Indian skintone?

  • Wow, someone looks like they walked out of a Lâncome advertisment! So pretty.

  • Of all your videos this is my absolute fav <3 I love the colours you use and I can't wait to get my hands on a creamy eyeshadow. Never tried one before. Also, I'd like to add that there are so many boring make-up videos out there, people babbling about totally irrelevant things for half an hour... You are always straight to the point, it's easy to follow what you're doing, what products you are using and why, always interesting and informative. Great video, and great look!

  • its amazing what she looked like AFTER the makeup

  • You have BEAUTIFUL skin!. What products do you use?.

  • Until recently I hadn't been able to achieve a smoky eye. Wish I had found you earlier!

  • Hi would the No7 Stay Perfect Eye Mousse in pewter be an ok alternative? x

  • awesome!

  • I absolutely love this smokey eye! I didn't realize that you could do a smokey eye using this technique. I tried looking for MAC artifact on their website but I can't seem to find it. Could you name a dupe for it please? Thanks!

  • @bluestarjf Benefit have a very good dupe for it in their creasless creams, think its cal Stiletto X

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom Thanks for replying back, I'll definately go check that out!

  • @bluestarjf another fab dupe... Maybelline's new Color Tattoo cream shadow in Pomegranate Punk

  • The damage you're doing to your delicate eyelid is undefensible. And, please don't use this technique if you're older than 18.

  • more like Monica Belluci :)

  • and kristen stewart hahaha :D

  • you remind me a little bit of shania twain

  • it´s the kiss ring from Thomas Sabo, isn´t it? xx

  • @MarlaFee no its from Solange Azagury Partridge x

  • Love the techniques used in this video. I never thought a smokey eye cud be so easy!! Thanks Lisa x

  • when you do it it looks so easy... :)

  • Love it, great tip for hooded eyes, which I am getting now I am gellting older and thought I couldn't do these types of looks any more. Thank You.

  • you look like natalie portman

  • could i use the same technique you used in the video with powder eyeshadows? creams crease on me no matter what i do.

  • could i use the same technique you used in the video with powder eyeshadows? creams crease on me no matter what i do.

  • you look like kiera knightly

  • Now I know another way to use my benefit cream shadow.

    Thanks!

  • Mh, okay, this made me think. I always kept distance to cream eyeshadows, because I had so much powder products anyway... but this definitely makes me think it could be a great way to find new ways in make up. A cheap drugstore brand here has released some cream eyeshadows, maybe I should give them a try - other brans are not achievable for me. :) thanks!

  • I have learned so much from you!! Thank you so much for all your beautiful videos!

  • Omg my phone stoped at 0:05 scary lol

  • I love how you simplified one of the most wanted looks outhere!!!! xoxox

  • Can you please recommend a good foundation for a wedding photoshoot? Thanks.

  • love your vids! :D

  • This is so beautiful, Lisa. This video may have just been the push I needed to venture out a little more with cream eyeshadows. You make it look so effortless and yet the end result is so polished that I'm intrigued. Since you've recomended a few, may I ask if you are familiar with the Illamasqua cream eyeshadows, and would you recommend them for this type of look? Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos.

  • Even if i put a really thin line of shadow underneath my eye i still tend to look very much like a raccoon...what do i do?

  • It's still pretty even with two different creamshadow :o !

  • Hi Lisa would you recommend this also in the summer? I have a 'day wedding' and im wearing a simple black dress so i thought this would be nice. but i'll be a bit more tanned though.. I'd be glad to get your advice :) Thank you very much- have a nice week!!

  • doens't she looks like Keira Knightley at the very begginin?

  • would you recommend this foundation for oily skin? I have oily skin (really oily some times) that is very prone to spots ( perfect skin huh? ).. thank you very much lisa :-) xxx from greece

  • I think that the package of the bobby brown cream eye shadow looks like the ELF ones !

  • Do you recommend the artifact paintpot for someone with blue-green eyes, and wants the eyes too pop?

  • @thatmegsgirl yes its amazing for that x

  • you are gorgeous=)))

  • Does anyone have any drugstore suggestions for the cream eyeshadows she used? I would love to try this look but they are pricey :x

  • what nail polish are you wearing?? i just loooove the colour ;)

  • @Parisiennen what are you studying that you need an accent for???

  • @TheLadybirdsPicnic English philology. English is not my native language nor do I live in any English speaking country. :) Actually, I'm allowed to choose if I want to focuse on British or American English, but I chose British!

  • Lisa, I love your videos, I always feel like I've learned something after watching you! This look is GORGEOUS!!! Thank you!! Do you find the Benefit cream shadows really are "creaseless"?

  • @makeuplove55 I've used several of the Benefit creaseless cream shadows and have found that they really dont crease much - can wear all day into the night without creasing.

  • Lovely

  • something wrong with the seven people that dislike this video.

  • @SmokinFoxy well it is an amazing video but maybe those 7 only watched the end and saw 2 different eye colors and maybe thats why didnt like it so much :P

  • I just died and went to smoky eye heaven. This looks AMAZING! Beautiful.

  • Can anyone tell me where I might get that Jemma Kidd eyeliner?

  • @Lauren80s Target is carrying some of the Jemma Kidd products, or probably online?

  • mac artifact paint is no more available. What could be a good substitute of it?

  • @KseniaIz You can still find it at e-bay. But is double the price.

  • You are Awesome...

  • great!! That Clinique is my fav foundation too, makes my annoying random adult acne go away or at least stay controlled. I need cream shadows now, I never really knew how to use them i guess I was putting on too much and they looked like I had 2 dark circles on my eyes so I threw them away.. I need new ones!!

  • LOVE this tutorial! I put in my order for the Benefit Strut cream shadow. Excited!!!

  • if I use this foundation my face will have acne...:( I don t know why! but everytime I give it a chance after a while my face starts to be really bad! :(

  • @greencris89 bareminerals... i have pretty unruly skin, and i have sworn by it for years.... just stay away from the new ''matte'' formula it clogs the crap out of your pores. good luck!

    Dani

  • When I tried this, it looked like someone punched me in the eye :-(

  • i dont know if all clinique foundations have salicylic acid in them, but every time i use a clinique foundation, my skin looks even better after i've taken it off at night than when i put it on in the morning. so perhaps it's the salicylic acid that does it?

  • I am such a makeup phobe but screw it I'll go and buy some new stuff and try this look :D

  • Hi, miss Lisa, i'm asian and i have a pair of single-edged eyelid. it's hard to makeup >.< my eyes look smaller when i use black eye shadow ~ hope u can give some advices ^_^ thanks

  • Hi Lisa,

I'm asian and i'm wondering if you had any tips for using eye shadow usage. because i don't have such deep sockets and defined eyelids? :s wonder if you know what i'm talking about. Most of the youtube videos of gurus i've seen are all caucasian, so i do find it hard to apply it onto myself sometimes :/

    Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

    xx

  • is there something where in i can use cheaper products than mac

  • Great video! I L-O-V-E your ring! Can I ask where it is from? :P

Ermm, don't suppose you could either do a video or point me in the direction of one you may have done for a make-up look for a prom :) I know its not your regular subject but I am soooo stuck on which make-up look is appropriate!

    Thank you xx

  • aha! now I can look like Keira Knightley... well, sort of :)

  • very well discussed ma'am.. i love the way it looks.. gonna try it at home later.. ♥

  • Of course....she uses the expensive stuff. -_-;

  • I don't know if anyone has ever told you this, but seeing this video (i've got hooded lids and i'm going to try this tip, although i need to find a synthetic brush) you remind me of the actress Eva Green, it may be your features and the hair

  • I'm going to give this a go. When I've tried before I end up looking like I haven't slept for 3 weeks, but I think it's the hooded eyelids thing. Inspired again. Thanks.

  • great tips for people with hooded lids like me :) thanks lisa!! you're so beautiful and amazing at what you do!

  • I can't believe I've missed this video! What a great technique for a smokey eye...absolutely love it. I love the idea of the liner first then smoking it out with the cream shadow. Thank you, Lisa!

  • wow i have owned artifact paint pot for a year and NEVER found a useful way to use it... this is amazing. i have tons of paint pots by MAC and never find a use except for painterly for a base. amazing.

  • Do you record your videos in your house? What backdrop do you use? I've started doing makeup videos and need some kind of background like yours...any tips?

  • Thank you so much for this video! I've been trying to do a smokey eye look for years and have never been able to make it look right. I had really given up and figured maybe my eyes just were not suited to the look. But after viewing this, I went to work and I think the result looked great -- the first time a smokey eye look has looked nice on me!

Thank you soo much and love your vids. You're gorgeous :)

  • @StaceyStar1993 That polish looks like Jade is the New Black from OPI

  • Very helpful and informative, as per usual! (:

I tend to gravitate towards more dramatic looks on the eyes, but despise the burden of taking ages, so this has saved me time and effort!

Can I also ask, Lisa, where did you get your red lips ring? Thanks again x

  • i love your top from what i can see of it, where did you get it?

  • this video rocks! i love it how you make thinks simple to do, you always remember to give tips on things to watch out and remember. thank you so much for sharing!

  • Lisa, thank you for all your helpful videos.

I have a question, though. I have single-eyelids. Really tiny.

Every time I do eye-makeup, my eyes look swollen.

Can u show me the trick?

  • Omg! Another amazing tutorial, and I especially love this look on you. I love the Revlon lipsticks as well!

  • well dear you are just gorgeous; let's start by that. your eyes are amazing and this smokey eye is just perfect on you. i'll try to do it but suffice is to say my eyes are not as pretty as yours.

    ~waves from Paris~

  • Great video.. I love that you mentioned how to do this for a more mature eye as I am no longer in my 30's... Your teaching technique is easy to follow, and your knowledge of products is appreciated. Love your website as well... My only complaint is that now I need the ipad too!

  • I just found your channel and wow, your presentation on a smokey eye is the best I have seen so far. I used creme shadows before and they were horrible but I guess they have made improvements and will try them again. I love the colors and the brands you have used and will get the same and try this. I am so happy you addressed the hooded eye application cause not too many do. Many thanks from a new subscriber. xoxo...Cindy
