It will take me over 20 years to watch them all!

This is false. The show he's talking is about a guy who messes around with TVs. This is not an advertising method, it's a one off example of what the guy does in his show (has a magic remote control). Some UK tabloid must have failed to check their facts, seen as there's lot of UK on here saying this is uncool etc.

I remembered watching episodes of Family Guy on TBS last month and seeing that bullshit ad for Engvall's stupid show pop up and pause the show. That shit really pisses me off, and it made me not want to watch his show even more. TBS sux, as does Time Warner the parent company.

The only positive thing about this is that it means TBS isn't getting the ratings they want for that show, which means it's hopefully on its way out, which means no more advertisements during shows...advertisements which, of course, would never exist to begin with if the advertised show was actually any good in the first place.
This is why I pretty much quit watching TV and started downloading what I want off the internet. If the stations want me as a viewer, they can stop screwing with the show that's already on.

This is not good at all. Not only is the concept bad, it is specifically made to burn those with DVRs since the ad appears right before a commercial, forcing the pause to be recorded.

Its like they are purposely telling people wit Tivos FUCK YOU. Why else would Bill mention that part. Also with people who don't have DVRs (ME) this is unfair. Its a good thing I rarely watch FAmily Guy or else Id really be pissed.

That's exactly the point. People dont watch commercials, becuase they are annoying, and I personally don't need some actor telling me how I should be spending my money. So- TBS has figured out a way to get ALL viewers to watch commercials, and that is pausing the show and makeing you sit thru it. Well, I for one have stopped watching TBS for this reason. If I don't want to sit thru stupid commercials, then I sure as hell won't watch a channel that pauses the show so I can see commercials

Some commercials are so bad and annoy me so much I have to turn the channel.
Turning the television off more is a great idea too.
I don't need people constantly telling me what I need.
Regardless of what TIVO might be doing to their advertising, they will lose viewers because of this.
People are going to watch what they want, not what the station managers think the viewers should be watching.

When I saw this for the first time last night it incensed me. I was getting more and more annoyed at the increasing size and obnoxiousness of these bottom-of-screen ads. I've even seen some with their own sound. But this one is the last straw. How dare they interrupt my program to advertise, when they already have three commercial breaks?! D:< Do they really think this is going to make me want to watch the advertised program? I'm seriously thinking about emailing TBS about this. :|

This is not good at all. Not only is the concept bad, it is specifically made to burn those with DVRs since the ad appears right before a commercial, forcing the pause to be recorded.
