It sounded really good, but personally I'd like to hear it after you practice some of the opening riffs a little more. You messed up a little in a few parts, and it kind of seemed like you couldn't make it through the riff.

I totally agree with the volume down scenario I do that for a less pronounced voicing;because sometimes you may not wan't the sustain but you don't wan't to remodel your effect.

But yes; you're right, the string scale on this incredibly long washburn models will also deaden the sustain a bit. I think washburn does it like that so the lower frets are easier to play for solos.

A neck through design will change the tone of a guitar, but it's doesn't give as much extra sustain as you'd think.

People don't really have much of an understanding about how guitars work. In this washburn N4 (and the padauk resonates very well) The strings in this are mounted onto a floyd rose, and the floyd rose is jammed against two pegs, and a set of high string springs. There's not going to be any loss in sustain. It sounds like he has the volume on his guitar turned down, for a tone effect, and that will deaden the sustain.

I think you have it nailed down, the only thing in my perspective is that the guitar that you are playing does not have enough sustain. I think that a heavier wood guitar and your skills will make it sound way better. ; )

Yes you need something with a lower string scale like a les paul or sg or a prs. if not i would suggerst schecter guitars they are made of mahogany and they have some string thru body guitars that have a lot of sustaion,, cheers ; )
