But Anso is grossly overrated. And on a professional level, he's stepped on the toes of some pretty big names in the custom industry.
Boker: Good company.
Anso: Mediocre designer with a severe attitude problem who should learn a little respect for people who have more experience and innate talent than he does.
@tuffthumbz Well, I didn't get the Superleaf instead I went with Anso 67. Blade length they are the same and both are great for utility/EDC tasks. 67 is frame lock and Superleaf is liner lock. I favor frame lock unless it is a dress knife. Quality wise, Superleaf is probably superior only in fit and finish. Material wise they are at the same level. I do like the 67's stone washed finish blade better. Overall 67 is a harder to find knife and an easier to sell knife and more collectible.
@tuffthumbz Hi blade centering is corrected by tightening the pivot, it is now centered. Absolutely no blade play, and the blade retention is perfect. Quality is good, don't get me wrong. Spyderco is just a bit better, but as you know Spyderco is one of the best production knife makers.
@1AbominAble1 Thanks Rich! Yeah, I love these collaboration knives, it combines the design, quality and value. This is actually not a small knife although it looks small. It has a 3.5 inch blade.
@SolosKnifeReviews Damn you lucky sob! Too bad I wasn't able to get into his order book, he closed it a couple of months before I wanted to place an order.
Awesome knife by anso as always! Looks really great! the n690bo is a boker+boehler collab steel, I believe it is like 440c but more refined, better edge holding, comparable to vg-10. Thanks for showing the pretty knife for those who can't get one X.X lol =]
@elongatuspiranha The thumb stud is very comfortable actually, it's big with traction but not sharp. I can even open it with my middle finger just like I open a Spyderco.
@merthyrmafia I like it too, but it's kind of too expensive in my opinion and I don't usually carry a fixed blade that's why I never got into buying it.
it looks like it would chop like an axe. cool overall shape. i wish these jens anso bokers wouldnt be so expensive. very unusual but looks like it works like a charm. how thick is it compared to other knives.
@PavlovSandor well, lets say that the liner on this one is the same thickness as Spyderco Sage's blade which is 3mm. The blade on the 67 is 4mm, pretty thick for an utility knife.
@oromoto I own two knives with this steel and they have held up to my normal EDC tasks. But I don't know about hard usage. Let me know how you like the steel:)
@darkchild57 I don't hard use them any ways, but today I found out that the shape is really useful when you want to cut wrappings. You turn the blade upwards, and just slice through wrappings or ropes with the back of the blade touching the box. You can cut it really quick and without damaging the box.
@JohnWayneColt45 This one is super comfortable in the hand, very firm and sharp. Will surprise you as the Zulu did. Oh and don't forget to show us the new Zulu if you are successful!
@frajada2006 Yeah, I specifically told them to send the one with out off centering. But the good thing is that the blade doesn't move when close so no worries on it rubbing the side walls.
Boker make some quality, affordable, knives.

thinking of getting this, after having it for a little bit how do you feel about it? Is it worth the money or should i go with a spyderco superleaf?

@oromoto thanks for the fast reply. is the off centeredness fixed or does it stay like that? any blade play?

Very nice knife :) His full custom is very cool, but expensive. That's some fat thumb stubs. Love his handle carvings. I like it.

I almost picked up a Custom 67, not sure if I regret not getting it or not because I would be absolutely bankrupt right now :P

@MyopicChihuahua LOL, try out this one first. It's about $800 less!
oromoto 1 year ago
Very nice. I almost preordered this myself, but the price was a bit high at the time. How is the detent? Is it better than the Haddock detent?
wenkrush 1 year ago
@wenkrush The detent is great, it sucks the blade right in. Price will always be high since it is limited production.
