Bravo ! Dar a fost cacanar mare pe urma !

  • We were so close to being invaded by the f*cking soviets for this :)) Lucky for us that we had Chinese backing, otherwise we would've gotten screwed by those soviet idiots.

  • This was the last warning for the Rusians to out from CEHOSLOVACIA.

  • i only can imagine what kind of bullshit he´s talkin about, probably he tried to justify the invasion of Československo by the russian Assholes...

  • no actually hes critizising soviet for doing invading it

  • lol, hardly believe that...

  • @GunBoTT I can only imagine how stupid and ignorant you are if you don't know history! Let me translate the first few words for you: "Citizens of Romania, the invasion of the troops of the five socialist countries into Czechoslovakia represents a big mistake, a serious danger to peace in Europe..." He was the only communist leader who opposed to and criticized this action.

  • @FlorinU

Alexander Dubcek opposed the communists, thats why CSSR was invaded. "Causi" still continued to suck the russians dick for nearly 20 years, until he was shot by his own people. A true hero dumbass

  • @GunBoTT Wikipedia (Ceausescu): Initially, Ceauşescu became a popular figure in Romania and also in the Western World, due to his independent foreign policy, challenging the authority of the Soviet Union.

  • thats nice, but talk is cheap - you must act.

  • @GunBoTT Tell that to the Americans who, in 1956, encouraged the Hungarian rebellion but didn't move a finger to help them !

  • NO way. he was the Romaina comunist lider . the only comunist leader from europe that refuse to send trups in CEHOSLOVACIA. he is critizising soviet for being stupid and he said that it was a big mistake

  • aici ai dreptate.foarte putine state sareau pe sovietici.

  • .... macar a zis ceva destept odata in viata lui

  • he got big balls to stand against the U.S.S.R.

made him self respected in the west as it was unheared at the time of some eastern european nation's leader to stand against the big bear.

Poate ca 3% e exagerat (nu stiu daca e cifra reala) dar in general roialitatzile din explorare sunt mici in primii ani pana exploratorul isi recupereaza investitzia. Dup-aia cifra creste pana la 30% depinde de contract in general. Dar in final ai dreptate cu o corectie: "Futu-i mama ei de democratzie Romaneasca". numai bine!

  • Comment removed

  • Its funny. Causescu was respected in Cechoslovakia, because decided do not join occupation armies in 1968. Then we saw his execution by wall and thought, "wish we could see our own top communists, shot by a wall, it would be an justice come" But it doesnt, and maybe, is too late for that way of justice.

  • esti tare mestere ...pacat

  • he can go blow him selff in hell that Phuking bastared

  • But he din't agree with soviet attac on Czechoslovakia! He said that USSR made very very bad!

  • yes... it is strange, but in some way it was courageous and brave...

  • you didn't get the message - he was against invading CSSR...although he had his own reasons: above all he envied to Josip Broz Tito his glory and reputation & wanted to reach something similar for himself & consequently was afraid of Soviets doing the same thing to him as they did to CSSR & Hungary. So he copied Tito's reaction which meant a political offensive. Being a Czech I don't buy this cheap trick of his-he really didn't give sh*t about us so all in all you're actually right:)

  • It was no trick...

The Romanian army was in full alert and the reserves were called under the colors in a great enthousiasm of the bulk of the people.

In '60s, Ceausescu was a popular leader.

What happened in '80s is an other story...

  • You called it 100% correct. Thank you.

  • My dad was in the army at that time and he told me that all the soldiers were at the frontiers ,he was expecting when he made this speach that the russians will invade us

  • Why do you insult Ceausescu?

He supported your country with the risc of the liberty of his own.

As a teenager, are you so skilled in history to have a right idea about that time?...

  • please do not talk about comunism , it ruined this country , it was not something that the people wanted in 1948 , and the still didn't wanted in 1989.

  • What you say about after 1989?...

  • I was not talking about communism but about the events of August 1968. However, what you say about the events after 1989?...

  • AnonimRO listen USSR let Ceausescu talk the talk , he was just a puppet , like all the leadears of the comunist countries except Fidel Castro , who wasn't even a comunist initially.

As for the events after 1989 in Romania everyone knows that Iliescu was an extension of comunism in the 90's

  • Iliescu was a puppet of the USSR since the very begining of his political career.

Ceausescu was not at all such a puppet till the bitter end.

This is the reason why he was assasinated.

Please note this is not a topic for discussion concerning the communism or Ceausescu's political leadership light and shadow.

Please find the true on your own.

This is my last answer for you no matter you will write from now on.

However, you can write me politelly in Romanian on my youtube address.

  • your like a kid that says what he wants and doesn't care about the opinion of another person.

the truth is any genuine interest in communism will die when the last UTC-ist will die , within the next 20-30 years they will all die

and along with their deaths , so shall comunism die 2

  • in general cand dispui de atata putere o ieri razna...

  • Kind of ironic. He backed up Dubcek but later when his people got freedom, they shot him!

  • Ceausescu was right; Western European CPUs adopted a Yugoslav-like approach to Socialism with this event in mind; Hungary was justifiable because it was civil war, in Czech. there was no DANGER of civil war, let alone an uprising

  • If Dubcek suceeded, the rest of the communist block would want the same. That's why the Russians had to go there and intervene.

I was there and hated the Russians. But when you think about it, they had no choice.

Gorbachov later coppied Dubcek. It was te right time.

  • A avut mare dreptate .

  • Ceausescu speech:

"Citizens of Romania, the intrusion of the five socialist country's troops in Czechoslovakia is a huge mistake, a great danger for the peace in Europe and for the faith of the socialism in the world. Is inconceivable in today world, when the nations is rising to fight, to defend the national independence and the equality of rights; that a socialist state are violate the freedom and independence of another state.

  • Ceausescu was right; Western European CPUs adopted a Yugoslav-like approach to Socialism with this event in mind; Hungary was justifiable because it was civil war, in Czech. there was no DANGER of civil war, let alone an uprising

  • Doesn't exist any justification and it is unacceptable for any reason,to admit just for a moment, the idea of military intervention in another socialist state................... We are determined to act whit our entire strength and responsibility to contribute in faining the ways to resolve this situation created by the intrusion of foreign troops in Czechoslovakia as sun as possible, so that czechoslovakian people can carry on whit his activities in pace.

  • yeah...now you have the yanks ! Good work boys, go hence to eat burgers and coke, now you'r finally learned to work for another ones, not for yourselwes !

    Great political culture !

  • Ceasescu, as bossy as he was, considered Tito a role model, since he remembered vividly the man's courage to move away from the Soviet direction in 1948; in here he doing pretty much the same thing, without provoking nationalism among Romanians in Moldavia (south-western USSR)

  • Although a dictator, he said the invasion of Cehoslovakia by the 5 socialist (European) nations was a huge mistake, and that it will endanger all European national rights&values!

don't see anything wrong in this speech!

In my opinion Ceausescu knew that one day they'll try to "eliminate" him too...

    And remeber...this was in 1968!!

therefore he was aware of certain things much before 1989 events!

  • Pt. marxistul:in acea perioada,Ceausescu era mai na-

tionalist decit comunist!

  • Very funny this speach. Massive soviet troops landed in front of the romanian border to cross the country at those times. Ceausescu got a lot of fear to be overridden in his own stalinistic-ceausistic autocracy. Incredible the fact he would believe in the prosperity and freedom of the Romanian nation.

It was not patriotism he was driven by.

  • Romania did not let the soviet troops cross it while on the way to Cehoslovakia. This was a political stunt which brought him support in the west, but I think he risked a bit when he did that.

However, according to some border guard accounts, there were some "occasional" shells which "accidentally" landed on Romanian territory.

  • For ppl who does not speak romanian. He says; people of romania, i support the democracy in this country the same way i supported it in Cehoslovakia. Every citizen is free to express his own opinion.

Me and my family we want to get rid of russians in Romania, cause we want to be free to make what ever we want. Do you agree ?

  • He said something similar to what you said. He didn't say anything about getting rid of the Russians from Romania (he wasn't THAT stupid) and I don't think I've heard a single time the word "democracy" in his speech. However, he says that the invasion of Cehoslovakia is a great danger to Europe, and so.

  • @Delta0Glider Dumbo, the Russian troups were out of Romania since 1953. Other than former Yougoslavia, Romania and Tchekoslovakia were the only communist countries not to have Russian troups on their teritory. Things changed in the spring of 1968.

  • @Airman04061969 Sorry, I meant soviet influence. Had Soviet troops still been in Romania in '68, I doubt Ceausescu would've been so "brave" and daring. He was a bit anti-soviet, but there was still quite some soviet/russian influence here. It's not like he was self-sufficient and had nothing to do with the russians. But yeah, my post did sound misleading.

Bravo NENE ! Luati-o cur dela Becali & Co. de data asta !

  • I don't understand everything you are saying-- knowing Spanish helped me a little here-- but you are tending to describe Ceausescu's dark side. What you say has merit, he was capable of great ruthlessness (the anti-abortion laws, his Stalin-type paranoia) and increasing nepotism during the last 10 years of his regime, but at the same time he was also courageous in becoming a second Tito. Romania's urban population rose from 35% in 1945 to over 55% in 1989

  • The russian invasion of Czechoslovakia undoubtly contributed to his fear of foreign intervention in Romania and his crackdown of political disent. When people call hin 'paranoid' they have to take into account the real threats for Romania's independence. These threats are are as real today also and they have always existed..

  • man he was at the beginneing of his career.....and this declaration sounds so democratic and courageously

  • This butcher killed thousands of democratic opponents in Romania and got richer than Bill Gates can ever immagine, while the nation starved in biological minimum existence and had to clop the hands in front of his boring speeches like this !

I would have served him a glass of vodka with POLLONIUM !

  • This is a LIE and you know it. While he had use of all riches in Romania, none where in his name or his family. This is an IMPORTANT point. If he had money stashed in foreign banks, as it was alleged, who has this money now?

  • Romanians would had a better life if Russians invaded Romania in 1968, instead to be leaded by this ridiculous stupid and irresponsable mother-fucker !

  • you dumb fuck...shut the fuck up if you don't know what you sayin'...you piece of russian comunist shit

  • who the fuck are you? Bull shit with the russians and there mizerable army...

  • who the fuck r u u little bullshit? what the hell do u know about this?

  • You son of a b**ch , shut the f**k up if you don`t know the role of ceausescu in our country. U think you know history you little a*s hole ?! U don`t know sh!t . Russians distroyed Romania after de second world war. They were robbing from our houses , they stealed even the railroads for the trams. F**k russians , miserable country and people.

  • Ceausescu, for Romanians and beyond, will be a polarising figure. He was guilty of many things, but at the same time he was considered Romania's Tito, which made this country the most outspoken Soviet ally, evem more so than Tito had been 20 years before. At home, he and his predecessor Dej modernised, in a very short time, a highly rural and backward country.

  • I like to express in my mother tongue but ....what a heck ! Ceasescu the famous sadistic and ferocious dictator was"nt a perfect EVIL as some people like to label him He was one of the only eastern leaders (maybe the only one) who condemned the invasion of Czecoslovakia in 1968 !some people say that he had some support from West !!??? Yeah!Right! The same support we had in 1945 when our beautiful Romania was ravaged by russians while the so-called WEST did"nt moved a finger !!!Bravo Ceausescu !

  • Thank god his own nation killed him !

  • Translation from Romanian: Citizens of Romania, the invasion of Czechoslovakia by the troupes of five socialists states it is a big mistake and a great danger for the peace in Europe and for the fate of the socialism in the world. It is unacceptable for a socialist state to violate the the freedom of other state when that nation raise arms to defend its independence. (Nicolae Ceausescu, the president of Romania, that time)

  • This gesture from 1968 was not the only one. In 1938 Germany, Hungary and Poland participated at Czehoslovakia's division. Romania did not accept to grab Western Sovakia. Radio Prague praised this gesture. Unfortunatelly, today, Czeh-Romanian relations are not as good as History proved in the past...

  • What you see here is unique. Never a leader went against his ideals to denounce the wrong! Let's never forget who he was he calling the wrong doer: The 1968 Soviet Union, at the time the Mighty Soviet Superpower of which the United States was afraid to talk againt. Did Ceausescu really have what it takes? Why USSR never dare to enter Romania? Look not far. The man who saved Romania and ultimately the World Peace is Henri Marie Coanda.

  • wnat a n00b i'm glad that he died :p

  • you're an ignorant, why don't you try and find out more about the man before you come up with a conclusion?

  • n00b...lol!

  • ...Is unbelieveble when the nations is rising to fight for the protection of his national independence and for the equality in rights, that a socialist state trying to brake the freedom and independence of another socialist state."

  • Ano...vsetci dosli do Ceskoslovenska okrem Rumunov!

  • please translate in english..i don't know cech :)

  • Hehe, it was slovakian! :D I just said, that it is nice that Romanian forces didnt take part in the occupation, but Ceausescu didnt agree with those democratic activites in our country in his deep soul..he refused the invasion only because he wants to do something against Russia...and he was always against russian policy.

  • I don't know what Ceausescu feel in his deep soul...but i will try to translate the speech for u:"Citizens of Romania, the entry of the 5 socialist countryies in Cehoslovacia is a big mistake,a great danger for the peace in Europe and for the faith of the socialism in the world.
