We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 (1%) API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs/Injection and tank clean and rustfree!
Well American Muscle invented drifting, if you've ever driven a muscle car back in the day, those things can cut loose easily with all the horsepower going to the wheels, so drivers improvised and started to "slide" corners.
Now Japan "perfected" it and claims its some sort of ritualistic japanese racing thing, but if their handling is so great, why dont they just maintain traction while racing...........
the chrysler 300 is pritty much what first crysler muscle car was in the 50's and 60's and if was not for the charger in 1966 then there will be no challenger in the 70's to beat the Z28 Camaro and BOSS 302 mustangs in the trans am receing seies
you know what, i really don't mind the weight. I just want this car because it looks badass, sounds badass, probably good torque, and something for me to cruise around and be comfortable. I'd put some minor mods in it like a louder exhaust, some rims and thats probably it. I already have a 92 Nissan Skyline GTR thats got about 450 HP and this is what i use for the track. But its so uncomfortable, its not an ideal car to take my girl out on a date :p
Too bad the people that loved this car in the first place could never fucking afford one. Base model needs to be in the $20K's and performance model needs to be in the mid $30K's
the base model IS in the 20s, and so is the basic performance model... the srt is not the performance model, its the top of the line premium model and never was meant to be the mass sold vehicle.
The reason these cars were successful in the first place was because they were relatively cheap road warriors. These new incarnations are going to be $50K rich asshole toys.
i saw one in this color on the road and it looks even better in person. i didn't know there outr already. but i live right outside detroit so thats most likely why.
We are going to have to outspend the ford and checy guys by 4 to 1 just to be able to keep up with them, at 4100Lbs your going to have to supercharge it just to get it out of the 13's
the srt8 is the heaviest of the 3 models, and once the dealers get em youll be lucky to find one under 50000. Dont believe the hype its gonna be a slug ,the ones you see in the magazines are most likely factory "tuner" cars, you wont get the same performance from one off the showroom, iys just too heavy to get out of its own way.
Ive waited 20 years for one of these, Love the Car but its gonna get smoked by the lighter weight Mustang and Camaro...the Challenger weighs 4100lbs with a small block, kinda hard to call it a performance machine when it weighs almost as much as a truck. Id love to have one but youll just have to put a supercharger on it to make it an equal to its adversary's in horsepower to weight ratio.
I love it when they (meaning any manufacturer) put a classic car back into production and it actually looks like what it's supposed to be. unlik the GTO that could have been a Grand Am.

number one try 80k and i love this car for the history and the top speed of 180 mph and the same for the mustang GT500KR with 550 bhp
SeansUserAccount 3 years ago
you're not gonna go 180 in this car unless you upgrade the fuel system

It's a dirty crying shame, too.

the orginal were not cheap yeah 4500 sounds cheap but its the same as 50k now not every one could afford one
styylite 3 years ago 2
plus the top of the line srt-8 models go for $37 not 50 and base model which looks very similar goes for mid 20's and gets killer gas mileage!
