I like this better than Cheaters. Yeah, you know they're just using you for the show but on Cheaters it's like they don't care at all and even if they offer sympathy it has a mechanical feeling to it. This show has someone who actually shows a bit of sympathy and knows when someone's at the end of their rope and stops it.
Using such tactics is a good way to prove whether someone actually loves you or not. They could push them away if they wanted; that actor wasn't even aggressive at all.
