Darn I miss home. Started as volley in Ruakaka, with Fire and Police, then full time with Ambulance in Auckland and ended up working in America. Who would have guessed what doors would open for me thanks to helping out in our community. I owe it all to the emergency services training I received in NZ.
Coming home soon though and hope I'm not too old to get back into it.
Greetings maoripiper. I have been with the Ruakaka brigade for 4 yrs now as a member of fire support. Can you give some details of your time here? We had a record number of callouts last year at 130 plus. I am aslo in charge of collecting historical details about the brigade with a view to writting a book for the brigades 50th anniversary in 20017. I look forward to hearing from you, Cheers Rob B
as a volly up on waiheke its real cool to see that even in NZ we have lots of really cool people often as volunteers working round the clock to help others. awesome to see man, great compilation!
The house fire that appears at 3.52 - 3.57 I was at that fire as i was apart of the Levin Volunteer Fire Brigade back in 2007-2008

Those chev ambulances must be pretty grunty machines, perhaps better than the mercs or fiats.
