  • what more can i do ??

    WON-DER-FUL

  • Anything you ask I do for youuuuu.

  • in every queen video someone writes "that's my fav song!", that's amazing, everyone has his fav queen song!

  • Friggin A, that's awesome! I love marvelling at people who can do shit like this! (Bows) I am not worthy!

  • My fav song!

  • i don't think so... i lyk this song becoz of its dramatic words... and roger's falsetto. not becoz it's queen's song. i lyk queen for singing their songs, not the other way around...

  • is there a live version of this? i've heard roger sang the high notes every night to prove they weren't edited but i can't find a recording anywhere, only ...revisited.

  • @thesurgeon Yes Rainbow 1974 Roger hits every note!

  • I've never heard this before, and the chord progressions are so amazing, I immediately had to listen to it again. Fascinating!

  • best intro ever!

  • I love EVERY SINGLE SONG by Queen. (Yes, all 200~ of them, and the demos) They are simply amazing and all songs are filled with so much talent. Their music is truly a piece of art.

However! Thinking I had heard everything by Queen, I never knew the correct version of In The Lap Of The Gods was this! I simply thought that this and Revisited were the same. I got so shocked when I put my SHA CD in now for the first time.. Damn I love music

  • ever noticed that this song is kind of a premature version of Barcelona? :)

  • @thealphasystem I'm totally agree with you, this song has been the inspiration for BARCELONA,especially the intro

  • Roger's falsetto is just too fucking AMAZING!!!

  • I began my fanship of Queen in the mid 70's with Keep Yourself Alive. To this day Queen,Queen ll and,Sheer Heart Attack are my diehard favs.

UNTIL they came out with the disco shit (AND I MEAN SHIT).Oh well

  • Roger deserves a Grammy for what he achieves here, and Freddie for writing it. Is there a category for Vocally Impossible??

  • whose voice is it at the start? it's obviously been altered and I would presume it's freddie but some clarification would be good

  • @natso2001 Yeah it's Roger, and it hasn't been altered, he'd do that live.

  • @HuDaFuK I doubt it's not been altered, it's been sped up slightly at the start I'd say, maybe throughout, just as Freddies vocals are slowed down throughout.

I could be wrong though, he did have an amazing falsetto singing voice.

  • Sheer Heart Attack is my favorite Queen album from beginning to finish. Queen are just so amazing from the production down to the individual's musicianship.

  • the best song on any any queen album..greatest hits included.listen to the chords and melody...its just perfect...do you know when u hear a song and you get goose bumps from it but after a while you familiarise with it and it sounds normal...not this one..replay

  • I prefer this song live

  • Que arte!! Cómo no hizo una ópera el bigotón antes de morirse???

  • esta cancion es muy buena y " in the lap of the gods- revisited" es mucho mejor.... Freddie mercury era un mesias de la musica, un enviado del cielo, lastima que murio, pero pronto llegara un genio musical a traernos alegrias como lo hizo mercury y su banda.....

  • It's amazing how many people here like this song. You only like it because you are Queen fans and you can't accept that not everything they do is brilliant. I mean c'mon, this song is rubbish.

  • @FriendOfFreddie

It's amazing how you can't accept other people's opinions. I mean, I had my likes and dislikes on Sheer Heart Attack, and I thought this particular song was good- not as much as Revisited or Killer Queen, but still good... and other people think it's good too. The basic highlight of the song for me in particular are Roger's screams and the ending of the song.

  • @FriendOfFreddie this song is great and it worked well live. I don't think every song was great but I like them all.

  • @FriendOfFreddie theres quite a few Queen songs i really aint keen on but i'm afraid i really do like this song. and besides, whats the problem if people do like this song? it's unusual, weird, over indulgent...but for me it works. a song can be anything at all as long as it does something for you. and while i'm at it, i really like Mustapha too lol. but dont get me started on Dont try Suicide. it has an important message, but the song isnt for me. but hats off to people who think its a gooden

  • ...but I prefer the original version!

  • I like the part where he goes: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • best!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, this song has many ridiculous elements, but they're combined in such a masterful way that the whole thing really feels like a blurry, impressionist-like composition. Sheer exploration for the sake of striking out to try something new for the sake of art - pure Freddie! I don't mind it.

  • Rojer Taylors first note on this is worth a music hall of fame on its own. :)

  • you people who did not like this do you also say did he died

  • Roger and those vocals!

  • I love this. I love Freddie´s voice it scares the hell out of me =)

  • I think you have to really love Queen to appreciate the beauty of this song.

    I love this song. :)

  • @ZeppelinClassics

You are very right :)) only a true fan appreciates every note of a song, each syllable letter will be heard, but... the value of music is not in a letter or an instrument, is in the dedication of the band who gives his soul for the music. Queen were gods in this.:))

  • I listened to this song the other day

    Its so BAD

    but i love it

    What a shit song though

  • @axelentertainmentAX

That's Queen my friend: hardrock, dance, epic, over the top, unique, GREAT.

  • @JamesCraig007 dude i love Queen

I really think this song is terrible though

  • @axelentertainmentAX this is a fantastic song . the vocals at 2:29 ar awesome.

  • @nerdflanders8710

no, i have played the song to 6 people they have all found it terrible,

it is hilariously bad, part 2 is better but could still be improved

  • @axelentertainmentAX so that makes 7 imbeciles.

  • @axelentertainmentAX I used to think my meloncholy blues was shit but not anymore it's fantastic.

  • @nerdflanders8710 dude, the song is really bad, you know why queen hits are good songs because they have good melodys and solid lyrics (even if they sometimes don't make any sense) this has neither, i find the song hilarious to listen to though, if you like the song you can, but you don't have to like every song by queen because freddy's a god. AND HOW CAN YOU TAKE THIS SONG SERIOUSLY. REALLY?!

  • @axelentertainmentAX It has good construction,it's polished, and it's sort of classical which is what queen are all about.

it's atmospheric rahter than a teeny bopping hit which you would like

  • @nerdflanders8710 i'll tell you what. I don't actually love Queen. I'm not going to argue with you, because you know what it's your opinion, but it is a terrble song (not to say it's hilarious) and there are better songs by queen. I prefer other bands a lot. And as fucking if it's classical, that's a fucking insult to the greatness of classical music. When it fades in and out it is so stupid. The lyrics are nonsensical and the chorus is stupid.

  • @axelentertainmentAX Ehhrr. I really don't really get how you hate anything from Queen, but I guess it's your opinion. But don't listen to song you don't like and insulting people for not liking it either. Unless it's something Like Bohemian Rhapsody..then insult all you want, because you can't just not like Bohemian Rhapsody. Just leave people alone about it and watch something you like, Geee.

  • @itsbridgetlogann i'm not insulting, i don't hate the song, i find it hilarious

  • @axelentertainmentAX Dude. You´ve got to be very intelligent to understand Queen, specially their early stuff. Having comercial songs and pretty understandable lyrics don´t mean that it´s great music. Don´t like Queen? Well, thats your problem, it´s you against millions who just like me are crazy for Queen. This song is not hilarious, you are hilarious you idiot.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn I LOVE QUEEN WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE! FOR FUCK SAKE!!

  • @axelentertainmentAX you just said " I don´t actually love Queen" on a previous comment. And I´m not going to say anything else, if you can´t appreciate this song then you can´t enjoy early Queen and then you can´t understand what Queen was about.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn I do like them though. I think they'll incredible, whatever i said doesn't matter the fact is my opinion is this song is hilarious, it's almost been a year can people just get over.

  • @nerdflanders8710 I LEAVVVVVVE IT TOO YOOUUU! REALLY?!

  • i love the song but would have prefered that he didnt put that effect on his voice

  • Yes he must be!

  • This song doesn't exist. It's just too good to be true!

  • This is probably the best intro I have ever heard (save for Death on two legs)...

  • @PicKPiT

I agree with you. This is one of my favorite Queen's intro. Maybe my favorite.

  • for those dumbasses who think that Roger had his voice remixed to sound high and clear for this song , i'm here to say your wrong. Because when they played this song live Roger sang the high notes and it sounded even better. His voice is all talent. He is amazing.

  • Just love Roger's voice :-)

  • This song is fantastic!!!!!!!

    From Italy.

  • Una obra maestra, la intro, los coros, la voz distorcionada de Freddie, ese aire tenebroso del tema, los agudos de Roger, la hacen un tema genial.

  • Best Queen song (yes, even better than Bohemian Rhapsody).

  • of course freddie is a god! Or an avatar at the very least... fab song BTW

    coraclewoman

  • That note Roger hits at the beginning is an A7 right?

  • Comment removed

  • i dont need to listen to a Queen song because I kno Queen cannot write a song i dont like :D

  • if greek mythology were sung, this is what it would sound like,

  • In my Top 10 of Queen's songs!!

  • @vilzvet Geez! Queen stands Alone!!! I Love them!!!!!

  • Love this live at the rainbow.

  • Did they slow down Freddie's voice on this one ? Sounds deeper than ever.

Roger's scream are awesome ! Anyone knows if those are in full voice or falsetto ?

  • I belive it's falsetto.

  • @Canaveral305 I guess Roger's screams are in falsetto

  • Nice,.....nice memories!!

  • EPIC

  • i love this song so much! i like it much more then 'revisted'.. its just great.

  • I love this song haha... funny that only select few people on Earth give it any reconition.

  • so true

  • @bryan1623 those are queen fans ;-)

  • @bryan1623 I'm one of those.....

  • @bryan1623 i am one as well

  • @bryan1623 yeah its a fantastic song.especially at 2:29

  • unreachable

  • As a guitar player I have to say that Brians tone and sustain in this song is nothing short of heavenly........All technique and flash aside,Brian May is the Best Sounding guitarist Ever!

  • I just love those notes that Roger hits! He is amazing!

  • This innovation is what makes bands like Queen Genesis and Pink Floyd of the 60s and the 70s far much better than the 99% of the modern groups.

  • @agleouras 100%

  • I still have this on vinyl... feeling very old now! LOL!

    coraclewoman

  • First song on the B side. My first vinyl copy had a scratchy sound from repeatedly putting the needle down to play this song over and over and over. My "stereo" had a "reverberation" dial control which would make this sound really tinny. B side had an amazing range of music ending with ITLOTG revisited.

    I miss vinyl.

  • Roger Taylor is fucking awesome.

  • This is like the hidden gem on the Sheer Heart Attack album :]

And it sounds so beautiful live!!

  • This song it's so beauty, it me makes me cry definitely!!!!!

"..I live my life for you

Think all my thoughts with you and only you

Anything you ask I do for you

I touch your lips with mine

But in the end I leave it to the lords..."

I love it!!! Thank you Freddie!!!! :D

  • meeting of the classical music and pure hard rock = queen. There are no such masters nowadays.

  • there will never be another band like Queen for sure, but there are some amazing artists still playing, if you just know where to find them. Sure aren't in the mainstream

  • what more can i dooooooooooooooo

  • is freddie a god?

  • sure!

    =D

  • @seviji yes he is !

  • @seviji such a stupid question.

  • @seviji

    no doubt :D

  • @seviji yes he is

  • i totally forgot about this song,,love it, I never realized it till now,,parts of it sounds very E.L.O. does anyone agree?

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    Freddie is so perfectttttttttttttttt

and Roger and Brian and John

    los amooo

  • Roger startled me in the beginning LOL

  • I love it!!! =3 and the falsetto parts are amazing...

  • who sing ????????

  • Queen :D

  • brian's guitar hypnotizes me from 2:15 and till the end!!

  • I transposed the song like 1 or two semitones, and it's freddie... anyway it sounds like freddie this way

  • I think it's Roger...

  • it's roger,,no dubt

  • i love this song it really great but i still like the revisited one better but i love them both especially the singing in this one

  • this song is beautilful

    my fav

  • lol I love Roger singing those super high falsetto notes makes me giggle.

  • Yep. And Rog even sang those the falsetto part in concert when they played this song live.

  • Wonderful! Love Rogers high tones at the start!

  • 1:51

  • que outra banda consegue fazer coisas dessa versatilidade que o queen tinha?

  • FANTASTICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey yo thats not freddie.

  • hey yo, yeah it is...

  • it is. think they slowed down the song, so the voice sounds a little different, but it is him (altho in this song you also hear other Queen members, like Roger)

  • hey tayfacex3 it is freddie check out the song lazing on a sunday afternoon its still his vioce in that song

  • MARAVILLOSO!!

  • Is that Brian singing the low notes of "Even in the lap of the gods"?

  • No it's Freddie

  • yes, he is; and btw, it's: "Leave it in the lap of the gods", not "even" ;-)

  • Haha.. I too always thought it was "even.."

  • O maximooo!

  • His vocal (Mercury's) is using tape speed to make it sound really low (as in Bring Back That Leroy Brown)

  • actually Mercury liked his studio voice High

  • He liked it high, but the lower part in Flick of the Wrist is synthesized by tampering with the speed of the tape to give it an effect. That's what was used here also.

  • Queen humilhaaa!

    Perfeito como sempre!!!

  • Is the voice of Mercury altered by an effect?

  • yes

  • Thta's Taylor with the "sreams." And at Webley, they played In the Lap of the Gods...Revisited. Also off Sheer Heart Attack.

  • LERN 2 SPEL!!!1!1!!1

  • Yes

  • very good

  • queen GTRIND! THE BEST! _|_ :D

  • yeah live at wembley

  • This was big in Brazil, it hit #6 there.

  • This is one the best songs ever. Really shows how Queen can do just about anything they want
