i droped my gameboy advance sp + in the toilet when i was on holiday luckuly we were going home that day and it was a 4 hour drive to get home and anouther lucky thing was it was like 25 digrees witch is hard to find in england the gameboy spent the time in the back off the car with the sun on it for 4 hours when we got home i found out it still worked i was a happy little boy cuz next day i bought a pokemon game i think it was firered cuz thT IS THE ONLY GAME I GOT NOW :(

They really need to port the SNES versions of Jurassic Park 1 and 2 to a Nintendo system. Some of the levels on Jurassic Park 1 for the SNES were very similiar to FPSs like Wolfenstein.

wheras the best weaponin Wolfenstein is a chain gun, which Doom has as well.) Doom ALSO has more monsters, cooler ones too. (Demons, zombies, floating balls of fire, etc. because in the game you're in hell. Wolfenstein has nazi's.) Don't waste you're money on that piece of crap game. Buy Doom. As for the gameboy, I think it's spectacular, buy that as well.

@happyhaha2000 I also have Doom for the GBA and I like them both. I know Doom has more of everything of course it does it's a new game. Wolf3D is still a classic I played that before Doom was ever even released on PC. So I like em both. But Wolf has no music on GBA that's what really sucks about it. The reason I said it was smooth was because I heard someone say it's REALLY choppy and I didn't find it that choppy. Doom II is best on GBA though for sure it's smoother than Doom.

I have Doom and wolfenstein 3d, and frankly, I regret buying Wolfenstein. Doom has a better storyline, (You don't learn what that is until you beat the game.) More weapons, (I think Doom has about 7-9, Wolfenstein has 3.) BETTER weapons, (The best weapon in Doom is either the plasma gun, or the rocket launcher,

(i had them all in a fanny pack) now,4 years later, i want to buy another one (even though i have DS and DSi) because nostalgia hit me. i know i can play GBA games on my DS but i can't play GB and GBC games on it.

I do think that the SP model 101s are the best for playing older Gameboy titles...it is truly a fantastic handheld. Oddly enough, I don't like to play GBA games on my SP. The shoulder buttons are just a little too small for my tastes. I actually find the larger shoulder buttons on the Micro a lot better.

Yeah, the Model #101 SPs are still a bit pricey compared to the regular SPs. I paid about $41 for my backlit SP. My only complaints that it isn't as comfy in my big hands. Weird as it sounds, the Micro is actually a little wider than the SP and more comfy for me. I also don't like the small SP shoulder buttons but I always seem to hit them when I don't want to. The SP is great for retro gaming but I like the Micro best for GBA games because of its form factor and screen.

It wasn't so much that the original GBA was bad due to the lack of Backlighting, no Gameboy before it was backlit (except the GB Light but only in Japan), it was that the new fancy super-colorful screen had a screen that was hard as s**t to see in just about any lighting conditions.

Still, it makes a great controller for your Gamecube+GBA Player Add-on.

I bought my wide-version GBA (white) as an adult, brand new after religiously playing Golden Sun on emulator and loved it so much I had to get a real one, buying it specifically for GS & GS:TLA. Never had trouble with the non-backlit much except for car rides where the lighting was inconsistent. I wouldn't consider that a major downside at all, especially with the 8+ hour battery life on NiMH rechargeable AA's =D

Three drawbacks,some games did not work correctly(Kirby Tilt and Tumble) and as the system gets older like mine the battery dies and no longer keeps a charge so I have to plug it in the wall as well as I can't find a replacement battery for it anymore and finally that stupid headphone adapter since there is no headphone jack. I guess I'll just use my Gameboy Player and just get rid of my SP and maybe find an old GBA that uses AAA batteries instead.

You can also use the Model 1 DS charger with the GBA SP. The Model 1 DS, in retrospect, can also use the GBA SP charger. I just find that interesting.
