  • fat bastards hahahahahaha

  • They certainly can sting, I was picking flower petals when I was younger and accidentally grabbed a bumble bee between two of my fingers. My whole thumb got swollen, fun times. It felt like a really bad stinging nettle burn. :)

  • 0:42 is that the Queen on the far right?

  • @99thJediWarrior Hmm, It might be...good question.

  • True story, they are really harmless. I had a bumble crawl up my leg while my husband and I were firing at the shooting range. He just sat there and stared at me and I moved and he flew off. Cutest little things.

  • Damn that queen is HUGE.

  • Cute! I like watching them. It's cute when they do their little "dance" to alert the other bees about where pollen and flowers are. :)

  • I have a nest in my composter

  • @piper102206 Make a video!

  • You have to be a complete idiot to be stung by a bumble bee. I take pictures of them up close all the time and have never had a problem.

  • These bees are the best of all of em. They are hard workers, they rarely bother humans and only are hostile if you constantly bother them. Before you hate on these creatures, just know that these are the ONLY animals to actually create a food for humans.

  • @metalrave cows.

  • @toyynewspaper cows do not MAKE milk they produce it. Bees actually make the honey by taking the pollen and using it to make the honey. No other animal makes food for us.

  • i hate this vid bees are meanies

  • @vamprisa1 No they're not. They are actually very gentle and will not bother you unless you startle them or they feel threatened, just like other animals. They are just trying to live their lives like you and me. :)

  • I'm afraid of all stinging flying insects, but Bees... we have a mutual agreement. As long as they're productive to the world I'll not annihilate them. Not like those satan-death-murder-kill machines like the wasps.

  • I want to eat that honey; and if possible eat some of those bees

  • people shouldn't be scared of bees, they make our honey, they don't bother you and they don't sting. I can understand wasps, they bother you, can sting, and look creepy

  • @brianatalking Well honeybees can and do sting (I've been stung by them a couple times in my life, one because I stepped on it! :( LOL) but otherwise yes they will not bother you if you are not mean to them. :) I actually like yellowjackets too kind of, they are just as interesting to watch. Every now and again I will be at a picnic and they will come around to drink some of the soda or slice off a small chunk of meat. Pigs... LOL!!

  • bumble bees don't sting

  • @einsteinbrothers Yes, they do. Do a quick google search for "bumble bee sting". Make sure to check the wiki page.

  • You can buy them on the internet. They're called Beepol bumblebee nests!

  • Makes me want to grab a blowtorch and fire away, yelling like Schwarzenegger.

  • Burn it with fire =3

  • look at the queen huge mofo

  • they are the best pollinators!!!

  • Bubble bees are great pollinators!

  • here in the philippines, there are no bumble bees......i am so jealous......you're lucky you get to observe those....

  • ha! bumbling away...

  • They are so cute! I would want to start a colony of bumble bees!!!

  • @delacour002 I am! I am buying a colony from a company called Koppart. They will be placed in an aquarium in my bedroom on a table. And I will have one of those hamster tube things leading out the window corner. Its gonna be great!!

  • @david052856 Really? I didn't knew that we could buy a colony of bumble bees! I will immediately google the company and see for myself xD I just can't belive it! How much did it costs to buy such colony? It's so cool! You will be able to use wax from them to make candles and other things like this!=)) Amazing!

  • @delacour002 what company was it...?

  • Thankyou so much for sharing this...from your conversation on the film...it sounds like you guys were ok with the nest..glad to hear it...I am soooo jealous..having access to a nest like that is such a privilege..for me..they are the most amazing creatures on the planet and I'm really glad you are comfortable (and obviously informed ) with them...I do a fair bit of charity work for bumblebees in the UK and love to see people with an attitude like yours.Best wishes and hope they return...Prof

  • can the queen fly shes so fat

  • @adiosalmaperdida Surprisingly yes! hahah! But once she establishes a colony she becomes nestbound.

  • @adiosalmaperdida I think I see her; is she on the very right hand side of the nest?

  • For the people that doesnt know where the queen is. Shes on the right side(shes the biggest one.)

  • Too bad they can't fly. :) Scientists proved mathematically they can't fly a long time ago. And we are supposed to believe in global warming why? cause the "scientists" said so?

  • lol the qeen is a fatty

  • The bumblebee looks cute! ^_____^

  • I love these cute little buggers

  • fuzzy little guys! xD

  • one time i played with a be that looks like that with a stick and when i thouched it it didnt sting me! its nice!

  • nice video ,the queen looks awsome

  • It's a good thing there isn't a killer bee equivalent of bumble bees since they can sting repeatedly without death.

  • trough their were vuvuzelas

  • ik if you have a small rock a throw it near one of these bee's they'll chase it. thats how i get them out of my way in the garden :)

  • what scares me the most is how big the queen is

  • @BNSF9250 She is only big because she is the queen, and queen insects always are. LOL

  • you can pet bumble-bees they don't care. I wouldn't bee surprised if the bumble-bees were not behind glass when they were filming this.

A friend had one in his old dog house and and he walked inside to the dog house and filmed it and petted some of them.

I also saw a video of a guy with a sunflower in his yard and he films himself petting the bumble-bee on it.

The reason why bumble-bees arn't aggressive is because they have few natural predators.

  • 0:42 on the right hand side is that a queen?!?! that things hugwe!

  • Bumble bee's are more better than wasps. There more fluffy and cuter <(^.^<)

  • thats the queen? OMG i feel so horrible, i hit one of those with a stick on time right out of the air and knocked its abdomen off:( That makes me want to cry for some reason now...

  • That's too bad. But to make up for it do you know what you have to do? You have to get into beekeeping to help the pollinators. This is not much of a sacrifice though because being a beekeeper is amazing. You can thank me later.

  • why is the queen just standing out in the open like that? shouldn't it be hiding somewhere away from potential villains?

  • do bumble bees sting or bite like the hornet?

  • LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE QUEEN! WOW!!! :)

  • i always watched them when i was child, peple says that one sting of them may kill you @.@.. thats were good time xD

  • @5256340

I've been stung by bumblebees a few times. It hurts pretty bad (like a wasp sting) for about 5 min to maybe 10 most. It certainly doesn't kill. I think you're thinking about those with allergies. Those with allergies to bee stings, could face greater risks, but it isn't specific to bumblebees.

  • I see the queen.

  • never actually seen one of these before... wow they make ugly ones compared to their cousins

  • what happened was I was building some fence through a small stretch of woods. There were some wooden post already there that I was attaching the barbed wire fence to. The bumble bees had built a nest in the ground under the post. As I begin to hammer a steeple into the post to hold the fence up, out they came and started stinging me. I guess it stirred them up good when that post began to shake.

  • Bumble bees are agressive, at least in my experience. A few years back I got into a nest of them and I took off running and they just kept chasing and stinging me. I had to jump into a car and shut the door to get away from them. Even then they just flying aroung the car and landing on it trying to get to me.

  • Hmm, almost like owning a honey bee colony, but this is much much smaller. I mean, forget about marking the queen, hehe. There are few enough in this to name them all!

  • Bees all around scare me lol but ive never been stung by a bumble bee i only stepped on it then the stinger went into me lol they are not so aggresive thats for sure though

  • when I was little I was on a see saw and there was a nest of these on the bottom lets just say I got took.

  • my phobia

  • i saw alot flying in my back yard!

  • LOL at :11 ! look at the size difference beween the bees and thier queen

  • Wow, that's the first bee nest I've seen that's actually as yellow as the cartoons. I wouldn't mind so much if the bees in my town were all bumblebees... Unfortunately, they're nearly all wasps, yellowjackets, and hornets...

  • Yeah same for me ive never seen a child drawing of a bee like this i never thought they were like that

  • never seen a bumble bee nest before, interesting

  • I dont know why but I cant stop watching, its cool. Look at the queen hehe straight chillin while everybodys working

  • lol all her work has paid off, man. While all the workers are well...working, the queen could just sit there and relax and watch business grow!!! xDDD

  • Awesome, where is this being filmed at?

  • Ive seen these before but never got stung by them ive been by regular honey bee and wasp but not this kind does it sting?

  • Yes it does sting. I got stung by one before, they hurt.

  • Hey do you mind me asking if this was a colony that you purchased? I've been interested in buying a small colony (I know B. impatiens are available) for a while but have held off because of lack of info

  • They are not Bumble Bee's. Yes they are bees but not of the Bumble variety.

  • theyre nice and cute but id love to use a flamethrower on them!

  • Honeybees do more pollenating than bumblebees.

  • there cute i like holding flowers n they come on it

  • bumble bees are cool they dont even sting ive picked em up out a pool and stuff

  • ive been stung by one of those it left a small scar.

  • bumble bees sting too?

  • They can sting but are very unlikely to do so unless grabbed, stepped on with bare feet, etc. Bumblebees are very gentle insects. If you screw with a nest, though, they'll probably defend it.

  • the queen is huge!

  • just that it's a othe specie

  • whats the difference between the bumble bee and the honey bee nests

  • Bumble bees don't make honey.

  • Sure they do. Just not enough for humans to bother with.

  • bumble bumble bumble bee

  • where queen?

  • its on the right.

  • the queen is gigantic!!!

  • ya their bees

  • do they make honey as well ?

  • Where is That bumble bee nest located at?

  • again, nice vid. is this like a captive nest or something?

  • yes

this is the species bombus impatiens. They are a commercially available bumble bee

  • i hate bumble bees they have fur

  • there nothing to hate friend, they pollinate all those yummy fruits and veg we eat as people.

    They are very cute haha

  • true ^^, im still terrorfied of all things that buzz thow o.o; bees, wasps, hornets. if i see a bees nest ill only get rid it if nessisary...but if i seee a hornet or waspnest...its flamethrower/M80 time >:D

  • yes why not bring out a flamethrower from like HALO or something lol or an AK47

  • @iamabigfatbutt Bumble bees don't sting.

  • @fishjohnburg Everything I've read about them says they do. LOL

  • @iamabigfatbutt i destroyed hornet nest few days ago with fire :D

  • @david052856 i understand but having a bee fopia i am scared. but i understand the good of the m and no many people will always keep them protected.

  • @david052856 they really are adorable : ) but horrifying if trapped in your car...

  • @david052856 Yes they are. I would love to pet their soft fur, if I knew they would not sting me! :)

  • @david052856 Not so cute when you don't realize they're nesting in a birdhouse, and you bump into said birdhouse with a lawnmower by accident making some of them fly out and pursue you. I accidentally disturbed the nest, and I got stung for it. They were living in a bad spot; so, I had to smoke 'em out. Other than that, if they don't bother me, I'm fine with them.

  • But that's what makes them so adorable! X]
