An "AI" cannot process the way we do: how is it that we "process" again?

Therefore an AI is *impossible,* ... and *might* never happen.

@libertyphoenix777 That's not necessarily 100% true. It's not a given rule that free-thinking robots are aitomatically malevolent. We'll be fine if they program the three rules in. I mean, even if they think, learn, feel, and improve independently of human design, we will still have some degree of control over them in the same way a god would be indestructible to humans. Building AI will be just like making human beings out of a different material. And it could only change things for the best.

@libertyphoenix777 Besides, once you really think about it, would a world ruled by machines really be THAT bad? If we program in emotions and morals, they won't hurt us. And since they're just designed to be smarter and more organized than humans, they could probably plan ahead for years. We're looking at a government without human mistakes, but one that still allows for a volume of freedom great enough that it keeps everyone happy. I'd vote for a robot president.

You could use it for people who say fall over for eg to alert emergency services....people who maybe leave their bag and walk away, it can scan faces and input that into your recognition systems, fake passports wont stop them getting in through an airport.

when she starts to talk at 4:44 she is talking about people inside the building and she talks about a airport and someone running out and leaving their bag, what if the person was running because of a emergency or something else, the doors will shut in the airport and they can not get out !!

@millkillbill987 Obviously that would be put into the program, as the emergency was triggered it would turn of this section of the program... Simple really. Either that or it would alert a security officer who would have manual control over the door. He could then make a decision to either open the door or if it seems like a terrorist they could trap him/her and get security onto them.

processing power is getting better but it is still not there. Unitll you can get 100 to 500 of todays processors on a board or cube at a reduced power consumption this AI stuff is just mimiking simple bug like behavior. To crack the system, you have a person go abnormal and get the systems attention. Then once the camera focuses on that person another person does what ever needs to be done. It works with people.

lol, at one point she is just bull shitting him with big words... it uses computer science syntax compilers rules, no shit sherlock, youre saying they programmed it in an actual programming language using correct syntax...WOW!..i mean creds if it works, there's alot of programming in working with images, when it comes to identification, but this just doesent seem to have anything to do with AI to me... its just a monitoring program looking for losely defined patterns

this is a good idea, but the algorithms are to random. The only way this would work is if it learns from it's mistakes, with a human telling it if it made a mistake or not. After a couple hundred years It will not make mistakes due to all those years of collecting data about mistakes.

This is not an Artificial Intelligence, but it is very usefull as a visual interface. Plenty work has been done to make it work. Miss Rachel here has probably symptoms of excitement shaking while she talks about her achievments. Its probably time for her and her students to have a little rest. However it is because of the fact, that so few people care about making some progress.
