Quick question on the redirect though...can we accomplish the same thing by merely using the redirect functionality from within cPanel?

Should i delete the old wordpress files off my old domain, I would hate to have duplicate files floating out there...How would I do this?

@wazzuball7 Yes, you can delete all the old wordpress files. The only file that you shouldn't delete (yet) is the .htaccess file since that redirects people to the new domain. Once you're pretty sure that all the search engines have updated their indexes, you can delete the .htaccess file too.
