People that are bashing Micheal Buble for singing Sinatra are beyond stupid. Who else is playing that kind of music in the mainstream today? Very few people, obviously. If he, and others like him, weren't singing these tunes you'd be bitching about the lack of that too. So please shut the fuck up. Besides, this is a Sinatra video. Not Buble.... some peoples' kids...
I think DanKupish rights. Sinatra is Sinatra, another dimension but Michael Bubble must be respected for his performances. Maybe also he knows that there is not comparison with "The Voice". This is no a good reason to get down a good singer. You know is to make a comparison with Magic Johnson with a good player, Magic is Magic.......etc.
How often I get to Vegas where I've seen Elvis, Cosby, Newton, etc. But one regret is never seen Frank and his Rat Pack perform!! (Did see the "Rat Pack" imitators--very good, but, ah, Frank!
@DanKupisch Have to agree to agree with you on that one. There's no one out there that can even come close to singing this type of music. There will never be another Frankie, of course, but at least Michael is introducing people to this music who may have never known it or Frankie existed. Let's thank You Tube, video and whatever else for allowing us to still see the "Original" in action. Love ya and miss you Mr. Sinatra (golden voice with a golden mic; how appropriate)
I think Frank dragged the intro out a little too long. What really makes this number is the band, and the arrangement. These guys can play! Without the orchestra it would lack luster, IMO.
Why must everyone hate on Micheal Buble when he's one of the few keeping this type of music alive! Of course the original is the best but be happy someone still cares enough to go out on stage and perform it again and have it last throughout the ages.
@Rpouwels actually micheal buble is a good singer. and no one can live up to old blue eyes but at least he cares about this type of music and wants to keep it alive.
@DanKupisch I disagree, there are many people who sing this type of music today who are much better than Michael Buble. Kurt Elling and Diana Krall, for instance.
@Swansoni333 It doesn't matter who's better, Michael is a big name and so people know about him, and if they like his music then they'll find out about these people, but without him, people might never hear this sort of music
@kimchappers Ur the arsewipe, missy, people make the comparisons bcz Buble' uses Sinatra arrangements, imitates his phrasing, and sings it in FS's style. In short, he doesn't have his "own style". Sinatra hired an arranger to arrange them to his specifications, so that he could phrase it in HIS style. Buble' is nothing more than a glorified cover singer of Sinatra songs. Septic tank yanks? Ur limey ass would've likely been annexed to Germany right now, had it not been for the yanks, in WWII!
@strictlycomments.. I wouldn't normally bother with a numpty like you. Don't tell me you're my salvation pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! I am NOT going to reply to that lame sentence about WWII, surfice to say, Boy did we have to pay for your HELP!!! So don't get high and mighty with me. End of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave my opinion, and I am entitled as you are to reply, to the MB & FS issue saying they shouldn't be compaired. You think you know it all. Now why doesn't that surprise me!!!!
@kimchapper It's disturbing to see how much underlying resentment there is towards Americans, especially from the very people who America has helped the most. U paid for our help? America, more than any other nation, has paid the ultimate price, with the blood of her sons, to help other nations like yours! Ur words are a disgrace to all the American heroes who R buried all over the world, who were supposedly PAID for their help. You'd likely be speaking German if not for America!
@strictlycomments .. Oh please, I DO NOT have any resentment towards the peoples of America. I am NOT. I repeat, NOT going to continue in this pointless barage of words. British mothers have had to suffer the loss of their sons too, so please do me a favour and get off your high horse. I have utter respect for the men and women who have given their lives for my freedom. So don't try laying some guilt trip on me. Now F**K OFF & leave me alone .. jeez I only passed a comment!!!
@kimchappers Oh, and as for ur opinion...BZZZT! Wrong there too! As long as Buble' uses Sinatra's arrangements, phrasing, and style, he WILL be compared! It's not his "style", when he steals every aspect of it from Sinatra. Unknown to most people(apparently urself included) Sinatra hired arrangers like Cole Porter & told THEM how he wanted the song arranged so that HE could employ his OWN inimitable PHRASING, timing, and style! That was the genious of FS! Buble' is a highly paid cover singer!
Buble is a reasonably competent crooner but Sinatra was the pre-eminent voice of the last century. I am sure Buble realises this. Why the comparisons anyway?
@MrOpalPwns He has a nice voice. I like him. I really don't understand why there's so much hate. It isn't like he did something bad or anything. He put out some tasteful music.
Is it because some folks have tried to compare him to an older generation of music? And are some other people finding that distasteful?
All I ever hear is, "Oh, I really like Buble," or, "I hate Buble." The latter never seem to give any reason, though.
But I think we can all agree Sinatra and the Rat Pack were cool.
Buble is kind of just a machine: Cranking out music to make money. But Sinatra Was much different, It was like singing was his LIFE. Which he was, and thats why i think people hate him so much.
The USA; what great talents our country has produced....a shame that some of our populace doesn't have an appreciation for this country and the many treasures produced here. Musical talent to be just one...very fortunate to have been born in an era of these talents such as Frank Sinatra & the all of the other greats...What do we have now coming out of the so-called talent pool...hard to appreciate but they have guts to get up on stage and do what they think is great.
Today, Few performers if any can OWN a stage and audience to the point of putting the audience in awe of their stage presence as well as their performance each and every time. A few people that could do this were Sinatra, Miles Davis, and Buddy Rich. Now, if you want that type of feeling, I suggest you see Tower of Power live in concert. Buble WISHES he could be like Sinatra was. He's a cheap imitation. To be truly great in the music business, you have to have your OWN original "voice".
@kittyuptown But you need water to live, and so does the American Song book. I'm not a Buble fan but I'm glad he's singing Gershwin, Porter, Mercer, Cahn etc.. because of Buble younger fans are coming to understand just how good this music is. At some point or another they'll find Frank too, and inevitably fall in love with him.
There is no comparison between Sinatra and Buble. The kids today think Buble is the first to sing these songs. Sinatra is the man !!! Buble,a boy and a mere copy of the real thing.
I saw Michael Buble at Wembley Arena London this week. He is very entertaining and extremely good with the crowd but not the greatest singer in the world....yet.
Don't forget he is only about 37 and some of his own songs are extremely good.
I don't think he is even trying to be Sinatra, he certainly doesn't have any dress sense and he is an awkward mover, he is just singing those great old songs and sometimes the arrangement pays homage to the original. Check Franks 1937 Stardust then Bubles
@erniegy yeah i've heard bubles stardust on here and i like it, but i dont get how he sounds good one day and shit the next, i know his not tryna be sinatra, but its the fact that people do compare him when, he has not even a quarter of the talent of sinatra
Comparing FRANK SINATRA & michael buble is like comparing THE SUN & a chunk of space rock orbiting one of the rings of saturn - hah! its almost funny yet its not actually: its pitiful!
@Melimelicious I was lucky enough to see Frank in concert at the old Chicago Stadium. This was back around 1975 or so (I'm afraid my memory is getting fuzzier every day). And he was simply amazing. So many hit songs and he just kept going with very little talking or pauses. The tickets weren't cheap and it's some of the best money I've ever spent.
@BachnRoll100 YEAH, THATS TRUE I HAD NOT NOTICED ..IT IS VERY NICE...THE BEST FOR THE BEST..HE WAS GRAND!!! I WAS A CHILD WHEN HE WAS AT HIS PEAK BUT THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE HIM....
@nikiru lol ohh yes, look on a lot of the buble videos, you'll see, they say stuff like the modern day sinatra and stuff? explain to me how he is i have no idea i dont know how a lot of people think it tbh
@defundthewar yeah he isnt awful but theres something about him which reminds me of a karaoke singer, sinatra on the other hand just oozes class. buble can sing but just singing sinatra songs your gonna be compared to him and he has nothing on sinatra at all
@dueds your absolutely right, buble is in similar swing category, but the difference is the unexplainable class of frank and his effortlessness, see mr. sinatra, sammy davis, nat king, paul anka is like the alfa omegas, they're like the fathers, and buble would be the rookie. No one in this modern society will come close to these legends...they actually have talent, class, and emotion.
@aser616 yeah well i just think that its good what buble is doing he likes the music so his singing it, but the majority of younger buble fans think his the creator of this music they dont know who sinatra and bennett and sammy davis are, and yeah sinatra for me is one of the best singers ever and i just think theres no doubt all the 'older' swingers were much more classy and just sung with so much ease
@cpmower i dont think bubles voice is that good really, buble is at his best now and when sinatra was at his best sinatras voice was a lot better than bubles currrent voice
@dueds I think they're both great singers. Frank sinatra was the original, while Michael buble is the new. Either way, no matter what, they're both pretty damn good singers

So Buble gets paid to sing. Same as any other singer. I don't see anyone on here bashing Lenny Kravitz or Adele, and I'm sure they're paid to sing.
A singer is going to get paid to sing because they need to pay for their bread. Buble sings the music he wants to.

@dueds agreed, and thing is, paul anka sort of "found" buble, just like usher found beiber

@dueds he may be better. but they are similar.

@dueds Buble is pretty awesome though.
