  • @TheDrugDrummer I say so too. I agree painted turtles cant live off of the sun that shine sin a civilization area

unless you live in an open urban area with hot sun i nyou ryeard even so you need a filter.

  • didnt know john travolta is a turtle expert...

  • It doesn't matter how long they live in the wild they adapt really quick

  • i saved a poor painted turtle from getting ran over in the street. i let him go cause it looked like he had lived in the wild a long time. so close to having a pet

  • 0:38

"Fuck yessss this heat is orgasmic"

  • @TropicalFishLovers I have had him for about 3 weeks going on four now and it was liek that when I got him, It just looks like shedding, but I didnt know they did that? By the way, thanks for replying.

  • @poopoopization I have a baby painted turtle and when i put him in his tank he started sheding

  • @TropicalFishLovers Yes he has both lights, and I bought him pellet food, but I usually feed him the pellets, goldfish, mealworms, crickets, and worms because i believe in feeding him for live foods cause thats what he would eat naturally.

  • My turtles shell looks not so smooth is that bad? Its like flakey

  • they eat cricket

  • @wildlife455 dude ya there was... there was a group of them. they were in the pond and there was one at the end if im not mistakening that for a red eared slider

  • I hope he ain't mormon

  • There was not ONE painted turtle in that video. Expertvillage, you suck.

  • @wildlife455 there doesnt have to be his telling u the info of how to take care of one not showing u one

  • You have some beautiful turtles! So cute the way they swim.

  • please nobody actually listen to anything this guy says , his video's are stupid and so is he

that kiddie pool is over-populated and the turtles in the video are not even painted turtles /

the little asian leaf turtle was nice tho :)

  • My painted turtle baby has a puffy witish skin illness does anyone know what it could be and what is the cure

  • @mark2109111 that's a fungus! you should put a teeny tiny amount of povidone iodine on the affected area.

  • Wtf they live in ponds i dont think there is pumps in there or filters

  • i got a turtle in my pond who had all the flesh cleaned off of his eye area, a large section. he is an adult. could he have been born like this?it is all healed, but he couldnt hear well when i came right nex to him he just ate, and when i was trying to get him in my net, he didnt even swim away. if i called the nature center they would just say to toss him back and let nature decide. but im not going to throw him back if he will get caught by a predator..whhat SHOULD I DO?!?! please reply.

  • @axolotlwithexotics Do you have him in an outdoor garden pond?

  • i found a turlte on the road 2day and i think he's a painted turtle. He's so cute, I named him Springer :DD He's pretty shy and is making sound like he's blowing bubbles, is that normal?

  • @whtvrgirl8 you should really put it back in the wild

  • @whtvrgirl8 I think that means he has some kind of repiratory infection, if you plan on keeping him it would be a good idea to take it to a vet

  • @whtvrgirl8 sounds like a respiratory desease:( take him to a vet. he could have a bacterial infection.

  • Wtf...My uncles turtle is 12 years old and he just put him in a kiddie pool with no filter and feeds him live fish....Thats where hes been living for 12 years straight

  • @Sk8punk332 yea same here

  • well one thing these are not painted turtles they are red eared sliders painted turtles are distuingished by the red and yellow markings on there shell and the skin coler of thge legs neck and head are black with yellow and red striped like markings the only way a 20 gallon is even thinkable for a turtle is if you only have one and it's relatively smalland the 20 gallon is a long yes a 55 gallon long is better but even so 4, 6"+ shell length turtles is kinda pushing the limits space wise

  • That alot of turtles for that little pool...

  • i have a turtle fetish

  • Dude i dont know alot about this but on 0:38 the res has what 2 heads?

  • expert village is a joke

  • the most common is the res (red eared slider)

  • what species is the green one we all see in petshops?

  • turttles turn me on

  • 20 gallons is WAY to small. that size is ok if your turtle is hibernating during the winter, but if you want to keep a healthy pet during the summer, the best thing to do would be to keep them outdoors in a kiddie pool/pond. if you HAVE to keep the turtle in doors year-round, then plan on investing in at least 50 gallon tank (go bigger if you can) and have a uvb/uva lamp. you can buy all the best equipment there is, but none of it competes with the benefits of natural sunlight and fresh air.

  • can i put a couple of painted turtles to live with 3 other red eared slider turtles?

  • Don't they need 40 gallons?

  • i jack off to this

  • @perezjdesi i loled

  • You can get Rubbermaid stock tanks (50, 100, 150, or 300 gallons) at Tractor Supply Co. stores or farm supply stores, for about $1 per gallon, much better than aquariums or "kiddy pools", and you can make locking lids for them, too, to keep out other animals and people.

  • he looks like a male pornstar haha

  • one of my turtle has lots of white lumpy stuff on its neck and legs and in never goes out and basks can anyone tell me what is wrong with it

  • 20 gallon tank....? er that sounds far to small to me

  • i can not touch turtles because i am scared!But i got a turtle!

  • to much turtles for that thing and painted turtles do not get that big so this guy needs to get his facs strait

  • for 15 years my turtle didnt need all this bulllshit and shes doing FINE

  • your turtle didnt need a tank nor did he needed a basking spot nor did he need a heat lamp and he didnt need a filter and he lived for 15 years yep i believe that i really do

    -NOT-

  • wait, u think im lieing? lol i assumed u checked out my video on my red eared slider

she backs on the deck outside all summer, obivously we take her in and out

  • but it is nice 4 th turtle they feel lik a king(or queen)

  • ok thanks dude

  • my turtle's shield is all dark green, do i just need to clean it or whatever?

it used to be all coloury..

It also has these black spots on the downside of his shield.. Is it some kind of desease or something?

My turtle is the same kind as the turtle you see at first.

  • ok i got everything i think. a twenty gallon tank, a heat lamp, water, and a floating rock and log. am i missing anything?

  • a water heater

  • a turtle0.o???

  • i think that setup he showed there with the turtles would be awsome ....i meen a big piece of wood (turtle love baskin on em) and a good amount of water to swim in ........it would be awsome with 3-4 turtles in ??????

  • yea it would but he has too much turtles in that one

  • umm i think mine is the painted turtle and idk how much 2 feed him.... ii fed him a small feeder fish day and i want to know how often to feed im those cuz he dosn't like the little pellets :)

  • he need alge eater fish in that pool

  • my dad works at a zoo he told me to feed about twelve pellets of reptile food during the summer. you can feed less during fall and winter because they go into hibernation.

  • I used to have a eastern painted turtle. She was torn up a little so we kept her til she healed.

  • How do u filtrate that kid pool?

  • not really sure but I've seen some custom made filters for things like that

  • Lol i like how there are no painteds shown in this video. The info was lacking too. I could make a better video. Oh wait i did.

  • where do u get one of those huge pools?!!!=]

  • go to a tractor supply and you can get a 300gallon stock tank for real cheap

  • wal mart. i saw a bigger one then that for 55$, but it like a human pool, or else get a kidde pool made of plastic.. those are cheap...

  • they're just kiddie pools

  • i am thinking about getting a turtle but i want to no how long they will live. ive heard some turtles live over a hundred years and i dont want that to happen.

  • only sea turtles and giant tortoises and snapping turtles can live for over 100 years. most pet turtles only live for about 20 years with proper care

  • id say something closer to 50 but i get you're drift.

  • you cant be really sure id say one like these maybe 30-50 years at LEAST. my dad has a red eared slider thats like 25 years old and just fine.

  • Yes. They're like dogs.

Some are nice and you can pet it, some are mean and will bite if you approach it. Also, any will bite if you tease/hurt them

Just like dogs it depends on how you raise them and how much time you spend with them will give you how friendly they are.

  • wer do u get a heat lamp from ?

  • really all you need is an aquarium w a bunch of rocks in it w some out of the water. use a normal 75 or 60 w bulb.

  • No, this is not all you need. Do not listen to this person.

For aquatic-semi aquatic turtles you need uva lighting plus regular heat lighting, or your turtle won't be able to digest it's food properly. You also a require filtration system and a very large space for them to inhabit on top of a whole slew of other things depending on the breed.

    I fear for this persons
