The whole Ninja genre has become so overdone; and why? Their history is so fascinating without all the BS hype, that if any director worth his salt actually tried to a film incorporating the real aspects of the culture; it would be very popular AND interesting! So now, all we have to show in this film is that tetsu-bishi (Shuriken) can be thrown like a Gattling gun, and martial artists can rotate like gyros?! YAWN! The advent of the gantry and pulley to Asian martial arts cinema has ruined it!

Daniel Henney from the Wolverine: Origin movie was a total shocker. The guy wasn't doing karate, he was using guns. Let's see more of those roles eh? Good job producers for that movie.

No. Ninjas are individuals who practice ninjutsu. Assassins are individuals who are paid to kill others. The two are not the same. The title of the movie implies this as well, since, if ninjas were indeed assassins, there would be no need to add the word "assassin" after the word "ninja" since it would have already been understood that ninjas are assassins, which they need not be. So no, I'm not fucking stupid. Oh, and the comment was made in jest.

Ninjas were farmers fighting the Samurai class to keep their way of life until the Samurai started training in it. Ninjas only fight to survive and otherwise seek only love and peace in life. The only difference compared to other martial arts is that Ninjas have no rules. We will win at any cost. Other arts have rules. Ninjas that were assassins back in the day were corrupting the art.
