yes this song is not Stings original! It was written by a very famouse singer and song writet George Dalaras who wrote the song as a duet with Greek and english lyrics. Sting was chosen and taken to sing this song with Dalaras. It was only later on that Sting has used this song and translated it to full english.

Either way this song is a Greek song.

Some times ago I saw the concert of Sting in St. Petersburg... It was a beauty show!

this song was actually origanly written by a very famous greek sing George dalaras... he then asked Sting to sing it with him but sing in english while Dalaras sang in greek... if u are a fan as i am of either of the singer you should check it out. he did a good job by himself but its soooooo much better with the 2 singers... has soo much feeling to it.

Yes, it's true. Actually I found it after I heard the Sting & Dalaras version which is a real gift : my favorite song from my favorite artists. I didn't know that they worked together and I didn't know that the song was of Dalaras' What a great surprise ! and what a shame of such ignorance... I hate that 'this musician is better than that musician' crap. Who cares? They both rock hard in their respective areas. The fact one is great doesn't preclude the other from being great also. The need to prove superiority IMO is just disguised insecurity - thankfully neither Sting nor Sancious seem to suffer from that.

This is a great version of this song and those who think Sting is the lesser do not know what they are talking about. He is one of the greatest songwriters of the last 2 centuries and is a better musician than anyone gives him credit for. David Sancious would not bother if he didn't think so too.

The fact that David played with Sting in no way changes the fact that he was and is a superior musical talent. Circumstance relegated him to supporting others to survive. After leaving Peter Gabriel, he never played for anyone close to his level. I don't dislike Sting, but it'd take four of him to make one of David back in the 70s/80s, as anyone who knows his solo and session work with Stanley Clarke and Lenny White will likely attest.
