@youtubingerful Well, first of all it's a sad and mourning music, second during a sad time (war and all) Iranian media which was the only media at the time played this song in all relegious mourning anniversaries. I think that's the way many people who were kids in 80s in Iran feel. Amazing song anyway.

this is iraqi assyrian music, yes it is played by a wonderful talented irani musicien but it's not from iran

This is Persian Ney,Of course almost every culture has a very simillar instrument to this.In Persian its Ney in Azerbaijani Balaban and in Armenian Duduk and they are all pretty much the same so Assyrians probably have something very simillar to this as well.

@7FARD7 yes but this song was played by the assyrians along time ago. there is an assyrian baked clay rock that has the notes carved on it, and now the rock is in the british museum.

To those who don't know this composition, this is a master piece in Nava by Alizadeh. This was composed in the 80's. Sure it's sad but it reflected the time. You want to know your culture, you should know this song. Sad or Happy.
