@Frank15982 I've seen it at the supermarket. It's too bad AB didn't show us how to cook one. Duck is still pretty good though, for the US. Usually, aside from seafood, the average American only eats chicken, turkey, pork, beef or variations thereof (like ham or veal).
Is this episode on DVD? There doesn't seem to be a Season 5 set on Amazon, I'm not even sure this would be in it.

Goose sat behind maverick? what does that mean?
Acenthehole 1 year ago
@Acenthehole - it's from the movie Top Gun. Goose and Maverick are the nicknames of the main characters.

Hey AB,
First of all love the show. I'm glad this is on YouTube because, to be honest, your show was one of the only ones I watched regularly in America.
I'm going to try this wassail this year with my own homemade English ale.
I was wondering if it's possible to make wassail with something a little...stronger. Say English Barley Wine?

what's the whole "the goose rides behind the maverick" thing? i dont get the reference.
ncisheadslapper 2 years ago
It's a reference to the film Top Gun. Tom Cruise played Maverick and his copilot's handle was Goose, played by Anthony Edwards.

o.0 No goose in America? It's so common here for Christmas!! *is German*
Thablet 2 years ago
And yes, Goose is not as common in America.
And it should be. Such a delicious meat.

Turkey is easiest to get in North America so it's seen as traditional. My family is Asian, so we like duck. In Japan, they usually serve chicken.
I think it's just whatever fowl is easy enough to get and roast.
