  • WOW ANOTHER OLDIE JAM THAT SHOULD BE IN TEH BOOK LOVE, THESE VATOS WROTE OR REWROTE THIS SLAMING, BAMING OF A ROLLA. THE ESCORTS, THATS A GROUP ILL NEVER OLVIDAR,CAUSE THOSE WERE THE GOOD OL PEACEFULL DAYS.WE CALLED THESE TRUE OLDIES. ESPECIALY ALL THE EASTSIDE ALBUMS, WELL PEACE OUT.

  • Now this the one i remember. the ojays covered this but the escorts took it to another level. This is the more soul version. this was the One back in the day..he puts more emphaisis on his tone and notes he hold out a lot longer than the ojays version.

  • No one knows how to create meaningful love songs like this, today. Most of today's love songs make me feel like plugging my ears.

  • lets sample this track!!!!

  • this is my jam!!!!

  • i love this song i love oldies thank to my mom and dad i grew up listening to this songs

  • old skool forever love and peace peace from new jersey were that song was recorded in the penatentry the escorts used to throw down some serious shows during there time in rahway peace from the east to the west coast and all us old skool head"s

  • Two words : I LOVE !!!

  • This sounds so much like Jill Scott's "Family reunion" song! Well, anyway, sounds awesome. thanks!

  • REAL MUSIC! OLDIES ARE FOREVER!

  • I love this song very much!! (Great intro!)

  • I second the comments of blkshepherd. This is THE VERSION of the song. A longer example is elsewhere on YouTube. Find it. The lead singer holds the “hey” note at the 3:13 mark for 9 to 10 seconds! Take a deep breath, and try that yourself. And when you add their renditions of “I'm Gonna Be Sweeter to You Than I Was Yesterday” (yep, better than the mighty O'Jays on this one, too) and “Let's Make Love”, you have to conclude that they were some of the greatest harmonizers in or OUT of prison.

  • PURO SELA AREA ITP LOKOS DOWNEY CITY GEEZ

  • One of my favorites and best songs of all times. It brings back lots of memories....

  • I cant believe someone said the o jays out harmonized the escorts on this one..NOT. i love the o jays..but sorry Nothing beats this version..this is the one i remember back in the 70s when i was a teenager.

  • 13NJJACK ....I thought I heard it all as a kid growing up hearing my dad play his 45s or 8 track player, and felt at one time my musical knowledge of the 60s-70s soul era was impressive. But this song is a perfect example of why Youtube is a remarkable tool. I simply clicked on a window and stumbled on this gem from a group I never heard from for the 1rst time. And it seems there are literally 100s of songs I am discovering for the first time from artists-groups I never heard of.

  • this is the jam of all jams. back in the day this is what you would slow dance to and get your grind on. with that girl you wanted to talk to all the time. remember the dances in the basement of somoeones house and thew lights are out. wow what memories, and no fights or gun play.

  • What's the skipping sound at the beginning? Weird.

  • Yeah I've heard the story of the group being in prison when this song was recorded. Also, I heard that's why they are called The Escorts because they had to be escorted to recording sessions by prison guards.

  • These brothers were in Rahway prison when they recorded this song. George Kerr, the producer, had to get permission from the powers in charge to bring equipment in to record them. The music was recorded by session musicians in a studio and the track was taken into the prison where the group recorded the vocals. The lead vocalist Jimmy Haynes and two other members continued the group and toured a bit when they were released.

  • @fretdoctor7 Bro you know your shit bro.

  • olivia hahahaha

  • The escorts dont get there cedit they was nice.

  • were these Brothers in prison when they made this??

  • This is a great rendition, however the original version is the best, Done in 1968 by the O'jays with Eddie Levert killing the song like only he could do.

  • I remember the album cover. Played the whole album 'til the groves came off!!!

  • Maybe if they had stayed in Rahway State Prison, we could have had more good music like this!

  • You STILL go to jail for being black or brown! Sad to admit, but it will probably always be that way homeboy.
