  • i was at this game!!

  • Love Cory Schlesinger. This was the first game i ever remember watching as a kid. BTW does anyone know if corey has any connections to David City NE, they have a large billboard of corey on his second touchdown run that was autographed by him. I know he's from the Columbus area

  • The guy was a solid example of smashmouth football and had one of the greatest influences on me growing up as a kid. Most kids wanted to be NFL quarterbacks, I wanted to be a Nebraska fullback. Go Big Red!

  • I remember that game is what turned me into a huge Huskers fan. Warren Sapp was running off at the mouth, even to Nebraskas sideline coaches and players. All of a sudden the Huskers took over and Schlesinger was running right through the middle untouched for TD's. Nebraska had some huge OL's that began to dominate Sapp and his mouthy teammates. What I loved is when Schlesinger scored he just dropped the ball, no hollering and screaming about how great HE was. To me that's what I would want peop

  • At 0:40, I can see Cory saying "Me Cory, Me smash through line" like the hulk, lol

  • My second hour drafting teacher at allen park high

  • Osborne played Sapp like a fiddle on that play. This is an example of the Trap play being called to perfection.

  • Osborne played Sapp like a fiddle on that play. Trap an undisciplined quick defender = big play for the offense.

  • My god, what a hole.

  • 2nd hour teacher ;D

  • ha this is my 6th hour teacher

  • Check this out.....

Husker Pump Up Pre-Game vs KU 1995 or /watch?v=4maglgS_zRk on utube

  • actually hate to burst your bubble but that Nebraska team was very jaded . Names Terell Farley and Lawrence Phillps ring a bell? Just think they say Miami recruits thugs lol

  • @MrCesmith13 Yes I know! LP was and is a piece of shit! Farely was a dumbass! TO never should have let LP play again! GO HUSKERS!

  • No Canes fans coming to talk shit on this vid recently, I see. I wouldn't talk shit either if I were a fan of a team that couldn't even win the division in the ACC for Christ's sake.

  • hes my school teacher

  • 60-3 in five years with 3 national titles out of a small school with a tiny recruiting base without a hint of NCAA violations is amazing but not a miracle. Osborne and his staff made it a long term project. They stuck with their schemes, perfecting them over the years, building enough tradition so they could recruit just the exact athletes they need to execute it. Today's instant gratification generation could lean a lot from the TO years. We Hawks hope to build the same kind of foundation.

  • LOL #12 for "Da U" didn't want any piece of ol' Cory headin for the endzone, but Muhammad cut him down anyway.

  • Pause at 0:25 that olineman is huge. schlesinger whos is also a monster actually looks small next to him

  • @chris371 Rob Zatechka was a beast.

  • Most important pl;ay call of Coach O's career. I went nuts when they scored, finally a national championship. GO BIG RED.

  • I went to 72nd and Dodge after the game..my brother in Omaha had no idea the history 72nd n Dodge.

  • As a 'Canes fan I can't deny the fact that the Huskers were the better team that night, they just flat outplayed us. But you gotta have to feel good for Osbourne finally getting his first national title as a head coach after all the near misses. Just wish today's Nebraska and Miami teams were like the teams from those days. Hopefully though with both programs righting the ship, they could be back to elite status in 2-3 years. Mad respect to the Husker fans, best fans in CFB. Go 'Canes!

  • Finally a Canes fan that isn't just trying to be a dick and start a lame internet fight. Thanks dude.

  • what stinks in here?? oh, its all about the PEEEEEEEEW.

  • @DCBMoreFan I will call them the Hurricanes and with respect because you are a classy 'Canes fan.

It must have felt good for the Huksers because Miami had their number for so many years. Every team has an achilles heel and Miami, with their slightly undersized but quick linebackers with great lateral speed, and hard hitting safeties that weren't afraid of run support and even played on the LoS, was a perfect foil for Nebraska's I-Option.

  • Good old "Anvil Head"

  • Miami couldn't handle the physical play of Nebraska. They wasted all their energy yapping at the mouth and forgot there's 4 quarters to a football game.

  • not at the 2002 Rose Bowl.

  • @hostiledefense I don't like Miami, and I was glad they got beat, but they left everything they had on the field. It just wasn't enough because Nebraska was better.

  • hes mine too

  • Cory Schlesinger is my drafting teacher at allen park high school!

  • dank John Nessel he played for Penn State teaches wood shop at my school.

  • HA HA beat the "U" right in their own backyard !

  • see thats why to was such an amazing coach he made sure his kids were on another level conditioning wise

  • Man stop answering this troll.

  • actually it is the university of nebraska look it up. nebraska, like every other program has had criminals play for them. but the three florida schools have had a reputation and history of having criminals play for them. and miami doesnt own nebraska the all time series is 5-5.

eight straight bad years for nebraska. 10-3 in 2003, 8-4 in 2005, 9-5 in 2006, and 9-4 in 2008. didnt know those were considered bad years. if thats the case miami has had more than 3 bad seasons during that period.

  • @01CanesrdGOAT How's that Wisconsin cheese taste?

  • @briant420 It depends on the crotch he licked it out from under. He has so many stretchmarks on his mouth it looks like a map of upstate New Jersey.

  • @mongoose704 na niggz uz failz

  • doesn't sound like the announcers are to happy lol

  • I love the guy in the crowd at 1:22 . "Oh my god!" The ENTIRE state of Nebraska was doing the exact same thing at that moment. I also love Brenden Stai deke-ing Sapp then crushing Ray Lewis. Pipeline, baby.

  • Classic NU football. Every guy carrying out their blocking assignments like their life depended on it. Muhammed rolls his dude 10 yards downfield to clinch the TD. Beat 'em with our bread and butter.

  • '93 National Champ Game

    '94 National Champions

    '95 National Champions

'96 National Champ Game--1 play away

    '97 National Champions

    '98 9-4

'99 National Champ Game--1 play away

'00 National Champ Game--1 play away

    '01 National Champ Game

  • How were they only 1 play away in '00? That loss in Norman surely took them out of title contention.

  • yea and miami has been amazing after 2003 havent they.

and dont even say nebraska players are evil. your university has always been nothing but thugs.

  • hes my teacher too lol

  • lol

    FUCK MIAMI!

  • nice, lol Schlesinger is my teacher at school!

  • After 20 some years without winning a nc and a long bowl losing streak you have to feel proud for Osborne when he won this game.

  • I believe he was ALL PRO.

  • Cory Schlesinger one of the most underrated Fullbacks of All-time.

  • @diablo313

When you think of Duncan Nebraska you think of Cory Schlesinger & Dorothy Lynch Dressing that is the pride of all Nebraska !

  • @SSduckclub I'm a Lions' fan and appreciate the players Nebraska has produced for us. Corey Schlesinger and now, Ndamukong Suh.

  • This is the only game vs. Miami that matters

  • I love how Miami fans get on this to talk crap. We won the game, get over it and stop wasting your time.

"This Nebraska team has owned the fourth quarter"

It looked like Nebraska was the team that was used to the humidity. Warren Sapp sucking on that O2 tank is always hilarious.

  • I was there in the band - it was as good live as it was back home in Nebraska.

    Go.

    Big.

    Red.

  • What instrument? I was in the band from 03-06 (yeah, great time to be in band, huh?) and it was a load of fun. Trombone section right here.

  • I played trombone 92-93 and switched to baritone 94-95. Sorry your years weren't as good as mine; there might not have been a better stretch for the marching band than those years.

Still, the band was awesome, wasn't it?

  • i love this game.

i love how cocky miami gets throughout the game.

i love how frank costa goes down every play.

i love how miami's cocky team turns into a tired DEAD team.

    GO HUSKERS!

  • I agree. Warren Sapp looked like he was ready to go to bed for a week.

  • He talked so much he looked like a bobble head.

  • greatest detroit fullback of all time, we miss you cory!

  • For UM"dynasty" of course we HUSKER fans watched the Hurricanes beating Nebraska in 2001, 1983, etc.since they displayed and clearly outplayed the Huskers on the pitch in these games. We simply accept that with dignity, did the same thing Miami in 1995?

Maybe it´ll take centuries or maybe never for many Canes fans to learn a little bit of sportmanship, not to mention the academic level of Huskers players compared to most of Miami´s.

  • I don't recall mentioning any stats, all I said was I enjoyed watching Sapp's loud mouth trudging off the field. I don't know why you Cane fans always post comments on Husker videos, unless you secretly enjoy watching your team get their asses kicked.

  • Watching an exhausted and dejected Warren Sapp walk off the field.....PRICELESS!!

  • Great video, thanks for the memories!!!

  • DUCKROLL

  • Thx 4 posting. I have this game on tape somewhere but can't find it. I needed this.

  • Schlesinger went to my high school.

  • he is a teacher at my high school now

  • Im curious what Schlesinger said to the 7 defenders he walked by.......Game Over, you can't stop us, or you're tired lol

  • Aahh those memories!! I have been a Husker fan since the Orange Bowl of 1984, when the Huskers failed that conversion, since then I waited patiently for a new shot at a championship game, and finally it came.

    Hope to see it again.

  • Lets talk about sanctions placed on a University. Thats right "U". Not us.

  • i watch them everyday. but do you have the safety, and the first touchdown pass?

  • thanks for posting these 2 great runs,i watch every am .provides the fix for my day.....
