The Sweep

This could never work in today's NFL. One of the problems with the GB sweep is that it's a very slow developing run. Defenses are so talented now that this run would be stuffed more times than not.. You still see it run once in a great while, but there's no real footage of it working at the NFL level anymore.

@cbrhawk1 I think it will work. All the guards have to do is block outside. The wr's and full backs are the ones who block the linebackers. I think it would work.

i like the green bay sweep! this weekend we should see it because the field is so bad. wouldn't that be great? lombardi would be all smiles

That's Bill Curry, number 50 at center, so that narrows it down to '65 or '66, both championship seasons for the pack. Chicago played at Wrigley Field for those two seasons if that helps.

were blocks in the back allowed back then? 00:15

in football,  blocks up near the tackle box in the back are allowed. open field blocks in the back aren't. while this play was borderline in the tackle box he engaged him in the side and then turned him to his back so it was defenitely legal
