the only post rock band that could even be loosely compared to don cab is do make say think. still different styles, but the same raw power. ian williams is still the greatest thing to ever happen to guitar and the same can be said for damon che and pat morris. early don cab is just... gahhhhhhhh mmmm AHHHHH hrrrrr. but anyways, everyone should check out Do Make Say Think too if you like don cab and you like jazz fusion.

They're very different bands, and I like them both, but if you want to play the "my band is better" game, Don Cab's musicianship is way beyond that of Explosions. What Don Cab is doing is just technically harder to do.

Don Caballero (specially Ian Williams`s time) is an unique band. You could recognize Che, Ian & Banfield in a second. Maybe you like to bang your head against the toilet when you listen DonCab; but to me it`s a fantastic musical construction, with great rythms & counterpoints, specially 95-00. Of course, I enjoy the strenght of the music too!
