Absolutely loved avatar. The thanatar was really cool. Right now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the movie industry will push the greenlight with the new book THE ICE GORILLA. The creatures in avatar were cool and all but in THE ICE GORILLA we get to meet a brand new huge species of gorilla. Hope this book is made into a movie.

just do see it in cenimas, its so much better and the 3-d is amazing not the shity blue and red 3-d but epic awesome digital 3-d. and story is amazing (though its been used may times) and characters and in depth, the emotion in amazing and the whole movie in a whole was wonderful.

i when to see a cool looking light show so to speak and saw an amazing movie that WILL win ocscars for... everything GO AVATARLOL

as of today (1-26-10), it's actually the greatest movie of all time. it just passed up titanic after only 37 days in the theaters. they say it will make it up to 2.2 billion worldwide.

actually, i think the fact that the 3d ticket prices are helping it are actually hurting it in the process. i've seen it 3 times already so i know it's definitely the best movie i have ever seen, and i've seen a ton of movies.

you see, since people are saying that it's getting more cash because of high ticket prices (which it is), people are deciding that it may not be worth it to watch it, and thus are not buying. i think that really balances it out, so it's the greatest movie of all time.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOVIE!! you will only ruin it, trust me. it's not worth it. the ONLY way to see this movie is in the theaters, preferably in 3D. i went and saw it in the theaters, and i've downloaded it. believe me when i say that this is the best movie you will ever watch, and the best and ONLY way to watch it is in its true quality. it will completely blow your mind! just do yourself a favor and save up 10 bucks to watch it. i can't wait for the Blu-Ray to come out.

and just how did you get your hands on a 1080p video? it hasn't even come out on dvd yet. either way, the people who made this movie deserve the pay for it. they are supposed to turn it into a trilogy, and they can't do that with no profit. i would really like to see the trilogy.

that said, i rather wait for it to come out on bluray because when i am home its easier for me to fully concentrated and feeling like im one of the characters. I get too distracted in theaters or if i watch movie at home with too many people that keep asking question or talkng about the movie

trust me, you want to see it in the theaters before you watch it at home. really the movie is so good that i have gone twice, and both times the theaters were packed. and both times there wasn't a sound through the movie except the movie itself. it really is that good that it just absorbed everyone into it.

and yeah the only downloads right now are just cameras sitting in a theater. even if there was a tv quality download available, i would still buy the blu-ray.

Flash video is adding hardware acceleration for high def. If you have an ATI or Nvidia video card, update your video driver to the latest one. If you have an Intel graphics chipset, you're probably out of luck.

I'm getting 25 frames per second at around 30-40% CPU usage.

Open task manger and look at the CPU monitor to see what it's up to. If you're around 100% while the video is playing, then it means your CPU isn't fast enough to process 1080p at full frames.

Nah, my computer can certainly run it. I have an i7 920 clocked to about 4 ghz, 6gb of DDR3 RAM and a slightly overclocked ATI Radeon 4890, with the latest drivers, on windows 7, among other things.

Also, I am running the Flash 10.1 beta which is supposed to use your hardware to accelerate the video.

It may be that something doesn't like flash per se, but it could be anything as I built my computer myself so my specific combination of the goods may have some little miscommunication.

it must be something to do with youtube. i have 10% cpu usage and the framerate is pretty slow here too

it plays beautifully on my desktop and netbook. for the netbook i downloaded it in 720p and it looks great. on high quality on my netbook it has no more skipping than normal, which isn't a lot to begin with.

now on my HP slimline desktop, hooked up to a 52" plasma, it plays full 1080p with absolutely no skipping at all. i don't think it's youtube.
