He's not asking for top 10 money. The reason it's taking awhile is because unlike most rookies he's not looking for his guaranteed money upfront which tends to be norm today. He is seeking to get the money in the 4th-5th year with the team as the franchise QB that they drafted. He will eventually be the franchise QB because they gave up their 1st round pick next year for him.
