  • also good video quality for a 5yr old video,i was expecting to see a calculator filmed video when i clicked the link :)

  • that cossie is faster than that evo in a straight line.

  • wow very agressive driving

  • the 20-25 year old ford aint doing bad at all considering the much newer evo seems to be completely set up for track (6:40 !). also the evo 6 is meant to be the best of them as its the lightest so that means the cossie is probably better than a brand new evo 10 lol

  • that is f*ckin awsome!

i wish i could drive like that!

  • 6:40 wtf??

  • mooie power van die ford...

  • 3.10 who the hell took a fiat punto on the nurburgring!

  • A 4x4 Sierra Cosworth weighs 50kg more than an Evo5-6 GSR. An Evo5-6 RS weighs 45kg less than a 4x4 Cosworth and weighs the same as a 2wd Cossie...Mitsubishi Evo is in a league of its own and it always will be. Evos are recognised as cult cars across the globe, while only us english care for Cossies, no one else cares.

  • I used to love the sierra cossy best out of the fords until my step-dad, who i live with, came up in an escort cosworth, that was his 2nd one. We've now got our 4th one and its a stunner. Its been in performance ford before we got it and we went round silverstone in it. It was going to be a group-n rally car until the team ran out of there budget so made it a road car. 343bhp.

Anyway im babbling, fast fords forever

  • cossie driver is crazy!! i like him nice video!

  • started a little off-pace but he built up good momentum. quick lines too..

  • the cossie what a machine just gets better and better just finding a goodun now thats the prob!

  • Good auld cossie :) That man is a fearless driver. I own a 4wd 270bhp cossie. Only have her a few months. Still nervous as feck of it because i am used to a ford capri which isnt the best road holding car around lol. But i let me dad's mate take it for a spin, he used to own a 2wd in the day. God auld lads have no fear of em, then again at 19 i have a fair bit to learn lol

  • Listen to the Evo down shift... doesn't sound like he's even heel & toe-ing most of the time. The Evo seems to be faster in the bends, cossie has it on the straights, good run all in all - cossie driver has good lines, and big balls by the looks of it!

  • Like for like standard 2WD Sapphire Cossie wouldn't see which way an Evo VI went round the ring. In fact give them both 350bhp and STILL the Evo would kill the Cossie. I'm not randomly saying this either, I used to track an Evo VI GSR and I now own an RS500 Cosworth and am a big Ford fan. Fact is Evo is just more competent than 20 year old Ford. Now, which was having more fun...? Cossie driver definitely...!

  • Good honest opinion 33Hz :)

  • @33Hz I got a 4x4 Race Version still road legal, i promise you that i will rip the Evo VI track time completely apart..

  • the cosworth driver was pro, if he had the same enghine as the evo he would have said ''see you later!''

  • @245thegreat What do you mean? The Cosworth looked quicker on the straights and those Cosworth engines are better than the mitsubishi ones.

  • @cortinamatt depends how well the evo is tuned

  • nice video i have a cosworth not bad for a car over 20 years old!

  • Year... there we se this again Ford will always win.. love the cossworth <33 <33

  • everyone says the Cossie cant compete with the Evo, well think of it this way, the Evo on there, lets say it was box standard Evo6 if i aint mistaken has 330BHP? and if you listen closely the Evo those Pull his revs but the Cossie jus seems to stay ahead of him until the cossie jus pulls away to the end, Stock Sierra Cossie is 204BHP if i remember right, my dad owned his, changed his injectors and got 280 horses =] which would easily burn the Evo on that track, dont bs, cossie rules!!!!

  • Remember guys this sierra only has 260 bhp. If the same power as evo it would have left it even more on the straghts. Maybe left it behind!

  • Kijk Nederlanders kunnen wel rijden;)

zo te zien kom je wel vaker op de ring

  • Ziet er idd goed uit! Goede beheersing hoor!

  • #1 CAR

  • i own a sapphire 2wd 400 bhp proved n there the best thing ever evo ye nice car but end of the day its not a cosworth

  • 2wd wot a car best driving car by far , not a old mans 4x4

  • that evo didn't rev very high, didn't sound like it anyway

  • petty but funny

  • FORD SIERRA RULEZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Evos are fucking cars .FORD SIERRA 4EVER

  • proud to be an frisian

  • I think the cossie was playing with the Evo at the start then decided he'd had enough! Cossie pulls away at around 2:25

  • Cossies kill Evos.. got one to prove it

  • Great driving, I'd love to go the 'Ring if I had a chance.

  • i love watching a cosworth sierra fly round the track, good vid thanks.

  • cuz sabine schmitz f*** roxx azz

  • you drive like girls

  • I take it you're not referring to Sabine Schmitz

  • that vid was the nuts rs rules

  • cosworths fucking rule end of>

  • Good to see you kept it sensible.

    Nice driving.

  • the sierra/escort cosworths still comand more respect than mr t !!!!! cheeRS.....

  • Both these cars are serious machines, Past and Present, and both demand respect.

I'm a Cosworth man, but I won't deny the Evo's are excellent cars

  • nice vid.....20 years ago.....

  • nice video the cossie is a proper fast ford cant believe how congested that track was! RESPECT

  • I love the way people argue over here, it is really petty and cowardly, any sierra cosworth is real, whether it be an 3 door, rs500 or sapphire, please grow up people it really does take a faggot to start hurling abuse over here

  • ANDRE DE VRIES?! Grand Prix Legends?

Its Dave Powell mate! Drop me a PM!

    Heilke hey too :)

Myself a regular ring driver, we should hook up there for some laps? :)

  • But it's a dutch license plate...

  • my dads got a 500bhp 1989 sierra cosworth and they r proper cosworths and if u wanna talk bout a proper cossie get a rs500 they was the first made so dnt try bigin urself up div u probably havent even got a cossie

  • toy cars there top cars! but i still love sierra cossies

  • My 387BHP escort cosworth would tear that Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 6 camera car to shreds. I hate all Mitsubishi EVOs and Subaru Imprezas toy bloody cars. I'll be pushing by cars BHP to around 450 this summer. I'm gonna eat all toy cars put infront of me. P.S. That Nürburgring scares the shite out of me though. Been their in my brothers M3.

  • surprisingly after a while the evo has to make an real effort to keep up..

  • Looks pretty equal to me. Camera car knows the track better.

Was impressed by the Ford's handling, better than the BMW 'ring taxi' on another clip on here

  • Sh1t.. wheres my burburry cap! :D

  • If you bother to read back.. you will see I did, active diffs are a great development, best of both worlds, the traction of 4wd with less understeer and can still be drifted on the throttle. If you cant offer a valid counter argument then I conclude that you dont have a clue what you are talking about.. Seems common sense cant prevail here. You have a nice day too :p

  • I said valid argument to why its better, not a bitter rant.. Why are you so blinkered by your allegence? Open your eyes mate, the facts prove otherwise.

  • No point in simply saying Cosworth is the best without offering a valid argument. As I said earlier Im a rallying enthusiast and while I also love old skool Fords, and often get to drive my brothers Grp4 escort, the old technology cant compete, proven on the rally stages, simple as...

  • Re- Chav comment.. I was only kidding after having that comment directed at me earlier :D I wouldnt call an active diff a driving aid as such.. well at least not like ESP etc. You should go for a ride in the latest Evo with someone who knows how to drive it, despite you being a Ford man I still think you'd be impressed.

  • For you maybe but your probably just a chav!

  • It my be older and less healthy then an evo but a Ford Sierra Cosworth is still a much better car then a Evo. If you havnt guessed i am a Cosworth Man own a Scorpio Cosworth myself.

  • I knew you must be a Cosworth owner, I like old School Fords too but I'd like to know why you think it "much better" over the Evo? Imo you can really only compare the the Escort Cossie with the Evo and even that doesnt have an active centre diff (or Active yaw control).

  • Omg i like every ford cosworth car apart from the escort. The engine plans all came from the sierra and it was an awful turbo lagged vehicle. Atleast the Sierra Rs cosworth can clain 1988 and 1989 touring car champion.

  • The large turbo version had excessive turbo lag but not the small one, the engine was mounted transversly for better weight distribution in the escort too. If you dont believe how good the latest Evo's are check the results of the recent granite city rally.. a grpN (showroom spec) in 2nd place just behind a Metro 6R4, thats how good they are in the right hands.

  • ummm no longitudinally not transversely. the t34 is laggy at standard boost, but not excessive

  • Yep, realised after Id pressed post comment, but couldnt edit.. Cheers

  • tis ok mate, regards

  • I own a 300bhp 2wd Saff Cossie and a Scorpio Cossie isn't the same. To be honest it isn't really a Cosworth at all, just "breathed on" by Cosworth. And as for EVOs and Scoobys, well they are good, but mu Cossie is 20 years old next year, let's see what they look like in 20 years time!!

  • So you brought the cheapest Sierra cosworth. You should of got an Rs cosworth. The 3 door from 1986. They are the proper ford cosworths

  • Sierra cosworth was miles ahead of the evo at points. Jap crap is well crap give me a sierra any day

  • He was held back by the backmarker then caught up whats so crap about that? I'd have the Evo6 anyday.. no comparison!

  • For you maybe your probally just a chav!

  • Lol.. What makes the Evo a chavs car and the Sierra not? A chavs car is determined by the burbury capped chav thats driving it. Nope Im just a rally enthusiast, my brother runs a Grp4 Mk2 escort so I get to play with that. The Sierra was a good car in its day and still is to a degree, easy power for low doller but not in the same league as a well sorted Evo in capable hands.

  • later on the cossie broke down and the evo drove home, jap 'crap' wins everytime the evo was faster he was holding off as it was a camera car fucking dumbasses

  • I had a Saph. Totally walloped jap scrap every time

  • yep cossies quick,but you dont need a zip on a evo,s cylinder head!!alloy from the cheshire gorge,bottom end from a transit.big turbo.high boost.easy power.

  • sorry about that but the cossie driver seems to me like a complete newbie on the nordschleife. He is not getting the line of around 90% of the corners

  • Stronger rear antiroll bar, drop the suspension 10-20mm or maybe ballast it and the Cossie would have been quite a lot faster. The Cossie driver definitely knows how to drive!

  • the ford driver has very good line thru the corners

  • the camera car was taking shit lines learn how the apex u fool lol

  • Boy got done on the straights, cossie power all da way!

  • Hehe. The Sierra Cosworth has got the Evo on the straights and we clearly saw how he had to push his fuckin' jap on the straights. But, he had the Cossie in the bends. But, I'd go for the Sierra Cosworth any day!

  • what suspension is has that saph got??

    BED SPRINGS?

  • love the cossie action i agree jap crap

  • nice vid, last car was a sierra cosworth before i switched to bikes :)

  • Ha Ha Jap crap never could keep up with the Cossies on the straights.

  • lol, thought u wer gony tk the cosi, let him go on the straight at end coz u knew the script shit bag
