Hey! Have you considered intellectus diet (do a google search for intellectus424dietcom)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin lost tons of weight with it.
also ... wheres the proof that a change in diet is reactivating that part in the brain ? it seems more likely its stimulating other parts of the brain which makes compensating and masking the symptoms easier ... either way adhd is something thats a lifelong battle with yourself, the only way to cure it is to learn to live with it, which is easier said than done
ADHD has been proven to be a highly genetic disorder ... about 1/3 are acquired types (either from troubled birth or from mother smoking/drinking) so maybe this video would apply to mothers who are pregnant .... but other than that i would say this is no cure for ADHD, it may help in the childs brain development so it could give a higher chance that they are 1 of the lucky few who grow out of adhd, but for 90% of those with adhd it will never go away.
Muchookees, you've just bought into the crap from the drug pushers.
Cool book: Doctor Bob's Guide to Stop ADHD in 18 Days.
Vegetable oils and trans fats get incorporated into brain cell membranes and make them short circuit. Sugar leaches minerals from the body. Mercury from vaccines is toxic.
A healthy diet of saturated fats and fish (high in omega 3 fats) helps build healthy cell membranes and neurotransmitters.
The fast food, French fries, high sugar, corn syrup diet creates ADD.
if fast food creates ADHD you would see a vast majority of the population with it. And you are saying im buying into crap from drug pushers, yet you are buying into crap from "Doctor Bob's Guide to Stop ADHD in 18 Days"
ever heard of the saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isnt " ? if Adhd could be cured, there would be no problem, yet some guy is making money off of a book claiming to cure this disorder, your just a conspiracy theorist

Ah, Mr Neo2001, that's interesting! Was not aware of that! Do you think it would be worthwhile adding vitamin B complex on a daily basis?? My frustrated earlier response is a result of listening to too many people who downplay the seriousness of my condition-adhd. Appreciate your opinion, be glad if you offer some advice on this - seem like you know what you're talking about.
I've always used multi-vitamin supplements, adding broccoli and other fruits & vegetables to my diet. What I was explaining before though, none of this will cure you. You'll feel better & maybe have slightly improved memory & focus...but overall the same problems are there. ADHD gets worse with aging, unfortunately.
and there IS NO CURE YOU RETARDS! IF THERE WAS A CURE THEN YOUR DOCTOR WOULD NOT HAVE YOU TAKE A BUNCH OF MEDICATION FOR YEARS AND YEARS THEY WOULD JUST GIVE YOU YOUR VITAMIN
If you think exercise and a healthy diet can replace medication for adhd, you need to get a new job. How can somebody so fucking stupid be a doctor. I have adhd, exercise and a healthy lifestyle have not reduced my problems one iota. Nada, nil, zippo, zilsch. So, please shut the fuck up with your diet and exercise bullshit you dumbass mother funker!
ekorre33, the advantages to a healthier diet and regular exercise are still helpful to the rest of the body, but it will not change your physiology. In the case of a physio-neurological disorder like ADHD diet and exercise has very little if no impact on the condition itself. Vitamin B Complex still remains needed by the brain, so should never be ignored in your diet. I have never found any treatment(s), diets, exercises, pills, therapy's, behavior modifications, etc...that I considered cure
neo nobody who has any sort of psychiatric training and is still considered an authority by the NIH will say that diet and exercise can help cure adhd. but quacks still have a following because people are skeptical of "the man" and view the medical community as some sort of legion of doom. but the majority of youtube videos about adhd are retarded because its the only place that most quacks can talk about their dumb retarded nonsense. and most of their followers will never have a say in medicine
people get doctoral degrees in things that have nothing to do with the field of medicine or psychology. therefore they are able to call themselves Dr. McFingerblast and get away with it and people believe them as an authority.
Controlling anxiety with drugs like Effexor helps, because it offers the ability to stop cyclic thinking & impulsive behaviors. When your mind travels in loops such as "What if's?" it's harder to focus and under a certain degree of stress it becomes impossible to accomplish any goals or even eat and sleep for people who have ADHD. Unfortunately people who have never lived with the condition make life far worse for those with ADHD by attempting to shame them into changing what they cannot.
mr neo im so glad someone like you said what i was thinking. it is hurtful and offensive when i hear people talk badly about ADHD or about parents who medicate their children. i have been on concerta for 10 years and i am almost done with my undergrad work. i think the medication allowed me to be me rather than letting the biology of my brain interfere with my life. and people attack medication without knowing a god damned thing about it and then think they are right and we are the bad guys.
how do you get the teachers to understand that you need time to change a child that has been on med for 5 years he is 9 now and cps had control now i have control but they are so use to the child zombie that when he starts to come awake they complain about physical abuse on other children so i feel trapped
Something must be done about how this disease is diagnosed. It seems like now everyone and their brother has ADHD, and they use it as an excuse for everything.
"A disease or medical condition is an abnormal condition of an organism that impairs bodily functions, associated with specific symptoms and signs." - Definition.
40% of the population with a certain alike characteristic (like so called "ADHD") is not abnormal.
Spot on ..I have ADHD (and Dyslexic too .excuse my English) and since I live in a clean environment (Canary Islands in the coast of Africa..but Europe ) and had remove my amalgam from the moth ,heal the leaky gut ,look after my food ..basically Organic and or wholesome vegies, fruits, grain (with little gluten) fish and very little meat then exercise and try to keep my mind out of the rush of our modern society ..my mind es quieter my heath is much better..
Very excellent and well spoken. This is someone who isn't being manipulated by the pharmacuetical companies. Asking the right questions and looking further down the rabbit hole.
I'm ADHD as well. I think medacation is not needed in everyday life. It's all in your head to choose want you wanna do with your time. People with ADHD is very gifted and have to learn to apply ourselves each and everyday without prescription's or medication.
ADHD individuals are gifted but lack the concentration that is need to do everyday task! that why Docs would prescribe any of the Amphetamine that are available! the docs want the best for u and that why he use he power to issue a control substance for ur disorder.
A lot of Add and Adhd people do well where they are their own boss. You have to know how you operate. Be like a mom or dad and tell your self to do this or that, otherwise you will not fulfill your potential. Pray. Ask God to show what would be the best past for you.
Why are you goofing up? Do you check your work and take your time? If you are being distracted by something , try to isolate the cause and see if you can talk to your boss about minimizing distractions. Try to stay focused and keep in mind that you are not alone. In fact, ADHD sufferers generally have a much higher IQ than the non-ADHD population. Another consideration is to find a job that allows you to use your ADHD as an asset. Not all jobs are ADHD-friendly.
well, often i forget my name tag, i goof on the register when it comes to ogranization of my paper work, ive mishandled money afew times (they eventually got sorted out) yesterday i was suppose to come in at 145pm but i got mixed up with last weeks sunday and came in at 3pm, When i worked in the grocery department i wasnt very quick at stocking the shelves, often times I wasnt sure of what to do given certain situations, and everntually

fishboi87....Are you watching what you are eating and drinking? Preservative laden foods can be a culprit. Getting lots of sleep like around 10hrs daily, drinking lots of liquids especially water? Dehydration can make one lose focus! What about joining an ADD or ADHD group or just talking to a clinal therapist may be able to give you pointers. There is hope....One miniute, one hour, one day at a time. God Bless and Good Luck.
Allow yourself extra time the night before you are going to work, or if you work nights, the day of and lay out all the items you will need by your car keys (ID badge, lunch, etc.). Also, use this time to doublecheck your work schedule. Even when I KNOW something, I still check. The extra moment is well worth it. Imagine going to a doctor or flying somewhere and you had to wait hours because the doctor got his Wednesday and Saturday mixed up or the pilot screwed up his shift.
My son was diagnosed with Adhd, but my husband and I chose not to medicate him. I am not saying that medication is the wrong answer because I do believe that sometimes is needed. We just decided that medication will be last resort if other avenues for addressing his ADHD did not work. He still gets into trouble at school, not keeping quiet, chatty etc , he has brought home about 8 detentions which was really upsetting also. Still my son made the all A's honor roll at school. There is hope!
Good for you. As the mom of an ADHD kid (who is now 31 years old), I can tell you that although medication is sometimes the only thing between the kid making it or failing miserably, there are some serious consequences of many of the meds and parents are NOT informed about these risks (e.g dyskinesia). Consistency is important and empathetic, knowledgeable teachers are also valuable. Hang in there MOM.
I was also told my daughter had ADHD when she was very young but I chose not to follow it up and so she wasn't diagnosed by a doctor. My daughter is very hard work but she could have been alot worse if I'd have gone down the route some parents do and medicate their children..........
As it stands, she's always in trouble at school, she's disobedient and wants her own way all the time. In other words, she's acting like many other 14yr old girls......she'll be ok.
They are fertilizing crops with human sewage? In that sewage would also be bleach and poison cleaners, laundry detergents and shampoos etc that people use. OMG I'm NEVER eating conventional grown food again!
nice film rosary, it's nice to have alternatives, which is exactly how ADD,ADHD,ABCD (or whatever the new hip term is) should be treated. i smell a litle tom cruise in a couple comments and that bugs me. i had crazy ADD as a kid, yet was well fed, healthy and at 32 i have less than 10% body fat. these days it's more of a focus issue.drugs may or may not have helped, but it wasn't really an option back then.
i do take ritalin now, but only when i'm in a situation where my brain needs to shut the hell up. it's an alternative and a choice i have, to make the best decision for ME, and go with it. the job here is to educate and offer alternatives to parents and adults, not persuade or criticize. a couple comments here used some choice words which did the latter and i don't think that's fair. both sides of this issue need a new approach.so thanks rosary for doing the only right thing to do, edu-macat-ify
I'm a adult with ADHD and i also have hypoglycemia. I've based my diet around it and my blood sugar is much easier to central. I can still feel my ADHD seems to under control. And there are a number of other ways this has improved my life.
Spot on ..I have ADHD (and Dyslexic too .excuse my English) and since I live in a clean environment (Canary Islands in the coast of Africa..but Europe ) and had remove my amalgam from the moth ,heal the leaky gut ,look after my food ..basically Organic and or wholesome vegies, fruits, grain (with little gluten) fish and very little meat then exercise and try to keep my mind out of the rush of our modern society ..my mind es quieter my heath is much better.. the hipoglicemia is gone
You're right...not depending on prescription drugs, cutting back sugar, eating the right fats and not believing what you're told about diets is essential. See my videos for more.

You're right...not depending on prescription drugs, cutting back sugar, eating the right fats and not believing what you're told about diets is essential. See my videos for more.

I have seen biofeedback work on children with ADHD and Asperger Syndrome (I assume that was what helped, they were not on any medications).
Cutting out caffeine and sugar helps a lot - once the child gets over the withdrawal symptoms, they do seem to improve.
