hahaha! I'm notorius for collecting minis and NEVER painting them. Although I do love getting that awesome figure and spending hours painting it up. I'd very much prefer to smash out 3/4 pieces of terrain than paint a unit or two of models!
Looking forward to the "how to videos" on your scratch built cardboard and balsa wood buildings. You have a wonderful shop. Have you ever tried using natural unfinished cork sub floor tiles ? They cut and take paint easily, never warp, are quite inexpensive.
YES! You clean up and your worksop is cool. I wish I have somthing like this! :-) Youe see the HQ of Games Workshop in England? Its look like the inside of a castle. The terrains are realy great! Make more. This time I build an terrain too. its 1,20x1,20m and in the next week I make my first stop&motion film on it ;-)
Right you are my good man. The wooden beams they 'cross-stiched' as the 'foundation' for the walls was called wattle, then a mixture of mud, horse manuare and straw was used to make 'daub' .. the process become known as wattle and daub funnily enough :)
ya i did a cpl buildings like that i found some wall paper that looked like a basket weave texture (small) and took a few small sections of it put on the walls and then put the plaster on top and it looked like some fell off.. looked cool.... i didnt know they used manuare though i thought it was like stucco or something like that.....wow man they used poop for a lot of stuff back in the day as i've heard other things as well...dont have anything to use heck throw sum poop in there it'll work :)
Hehehe, it has some very interesting adhesive qualities. It was also used in the slurry mix they used (and one company i know of in the USA still does this authentically) to make the bells you find in churches etc. The slurry was mixed from saw dust, manuare and mud, then baked to make the mold into which the molten metal was poured. depending on the mould you made, the sounds would be different, as well as the metal you used of course.
wow, nice workshop man. The fantasy buildings are great. I think i'll have to give it a go, maybe build a village for my empire army. I'd love to see a video showing how you made them from scratch! thanks man =] Hey we have the same two fantasy armies lol.
A unit of 15 or 20 grave guard works really well, you can give them some cool magic banners and make them quite deadly.
Thanks mate! Ive been making stuff for a while now ... eventually want to do a Necromunda hive city - 8'x4' :) Could double as a city fight board too I guess.
I had some old comic backing boards laying around, so whipped up about 15 different templates and made a stack of those buildings like the ones in this vid, then started varying the designs - the results of which are still on the shelf needing to be finished :D
make some towers plz

Love how you put tiny bits of info into your video while showing your projects. Helps me a ton!
