in my state (MA) when you renew your drivers liscence,I THINK now you have to OPT OUT to be an organ donor. In most states you have to OPT IN, ie Choose it...so only a minority of people do. Wish everywhere it was opt Out not Opt In.

Hope everyone here has "organ donor" on their driver's liscense and ALSO has talked to their family and next of kin if you want this. If you are under age, you can still tell them how important it is to you.

@r1yamaha2009 Kidneys, yes, lungs (which is what she needed), no. I think part of the liver can be transplanted as well, because it can grow back.

I am so sorry for your lost, I just lost my wife june 10, 2011 too, I could donate my heart to some one has a family that depent on him-her, I live in mexico and here is really bad down here.

My husband is brain dead.The doctors say his organs are good and his cracked skull and broken leg does not matter. He is being kept alive by a machine but i cannot do this for long. I want to sell his organs to help pay his debts and take care of me and the children. He was in good health,vegetarian and nonsmoker. I will be happy to know his heart is out there somewhere. this is ilegal. And is probably a scam. If it's not, sorry for your situation. Go to the papers saying your plight. Make him an organ donor...you will look autruistic. ANd the paper can say "organ donor's family near financial ruin". Perhaps a collection would be started.

But if you appear to try be selling organs, you will be held as very dispicable. SInce no reputable hospital would do such transplant, you endanger ALL possible recipients. But probably this is a lie, anyway.

that's so sad, i dont understand it, if i died tommorow, i'd like to think that although my family & friends were grieving, there would be another family out there jumping for joy, so many people would take an organ if they needed it, theres no excuse for not giving an organ that i can see x

god bless you alexa.. i myself have cancer and i have been on treatment for about 2 years.. i pray hard.. i believe that god really loves each on of us which has cancer and pick one by one each day.. i will pray hard for each and one of us for a better living..

@alaskababy113 im so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!! I had a liver transplant when I was 9 months old from a donor who was brain dead. He was only 2 at the time. Im 16 now, so hes supposed to be 18.
